We don't. Being able to be seen in a fight is a tactical disadvantage.

We much precer to neutralise or bypass the opposition from a vantage point they
cannot meaningfully engage us from. This is the point of the 2d chalk person avatar actually-it's a tiny, tiny part of who and what we really are but its' humanoid form looks like a target and encourages opponents to waste ammunition on a Dirac portal. And if something CAN meaninfully disrupt it, it's a wakeup call to step up our game.
>>
so i know jumpchain will never be a multiplayer game...but I have to ask. how pissed would you be, jumpers, if you arrived into a world and realized that someone had already stolen all the shinies and waifu'd all the waifus? what would you do?

A sort of punk rock variation of Sanetoshi Watase, where the coat- my Kamui -exposes my upper back and the sleeves are each sectioned into three parts by zippers. When activated, said zippers all become mouths.

Between that, having a pair of eyes on each shoulder and glowing like the last dawn on Earth, 's pretty cool.

In my current side chain my enemies loved ones with mental powers letting me imitate them in mannerisms and create convincing reasons for it to happen.

In my main chain a supernaturally attractive person with green hair (can't decide on appearance beyond that and took a lot of shapeshifting) or a demonic eel dragon wolf monstrosity which i cannot draw well enough to show.

Dark Souls, Van Helsing and King Arthur are my favorites for wielding heavenly powers.
>>
>>46964955
I'm not sure I understand the question.
I look the same. If I didn't, I wouldn't be a stealth jumper. Small, unassuming girl. Usually wears a coat and/or goggles.
I mostly stick to what's capable of my persona, unless I've run out of fucks to give, in which case it's high power magical blasts all the way.

That said, sometimes when I really want to impress on someone HOW BADLY they're fucking up, I undo the lock on Waveform Anatomy just enough so that, combined with Hot Off The Press from Macross, my hair starts doing that "I'm channeling Dracula" thing Soma does in Aria of Sorrow, kinda moving even when still. Transformative Wings from Darkstalkers lets me do weird shit with my shadow. That and Gate's Bloodstained Grin, Webmage's Chaos Form, or just being from America in Squirrel & Hedgehog means my eyes can do all kinds of glowing multicolour bullshit. Or even just using Marvel Shapeshifting to change the shape of my iris! I'm partial to cats, myself.
Bonus points if I start talking with the voice of Legion.
It is SUPER fun to do that stuff in settings where that shit isn't remotely normal.

Did I mention I have a ton of intimidate perks?

>>46965234
Well, you can stack divine casting from D&D. Supernatural and Highschool DxD let you be angels. Also Unholy Heights, although that's contestable.
Other than that it's mostly just stacking divine/spiritual powers. There's a lot of those.

>>
>>46965688
> I seem to have made a grievous error
It's a pretty fun series!

There are two, the '03 version and Brotherhood. Brotherhood is the superior version, the one based off the manga, and the one the jump is based off of.

However, '03 is still quite good. It was made when the original anime caught up to the manga, and the manga-kun wrote them a new villain and ending just for that series, so it's actually pretty interesting as well, and does some things with the ideas that Brotherhood doesn't.
It is also, somewhat hilariously, FAR more dark than Brotherhood. The ending is far more depressing, despite the heroes earning victory.

They both average around fifty episodes, and either one is worth checking out on their own merits.

If I'm serious about the fight, mostly like a swarm of twenty cyborg dragon skeletons. Mostly, they see my minions.

Well that is the fun part!

The entire outfit is technically power armor with all its protective qualities except with a different looks.

Transmog from World of Warcraft (which you get for Free) is a hell of a thing. Want that legendary armor to look not as dangerous? Done. Scary sword now a stick? Sure. Entire outfits that are actually power armor? Why the hell not!

I like the comfortable feel personally so even if it "looks" like your skin is exposed it technically isn't, but to answer your question: The Glasses are technically the helmet but the gold chain is just a gold chain because sometimes it is nice to have a "little' bling.

If I wanted to show off I would simply do this with the same process because either way? It is at that point in the chain where I can't be asked to take a fight seriously enough where I need to look the part.

>>
>>46966436
>>how are they not all freezing to death from being pulled away from the sun
It actually takes a while for a planet to freeze over like that. It wouldn't be instantaneous.
If our sun disappeared right now, it'd take something like a week for things to start getting really shitty.
It would still suck and fuck the environment up, but as long as Supes is fast enough (and we all know he is), that at least wouldn't be a problem.

Also, everyone knows that Superman AND Batman can both breath in space.

Why would I want to be seen in a fight? Generally, the whole thing happens while I'm under a few layers of invisibility. Then I just paralyze or knockout my foes. If I need to be subtle about it, I leave a double where I was and they try to talk my way out of it.

Actually, general combat tactics are to be invisible and highly mobile, attack from range and take advantage of my ability to bounce bullets and jump a few stories with ease. If possible, have lots of support units to draw attention.

That's quite beside the point, assuming you can traverse one end of the universe to the other in a reasonable amount of time it would be much safer to open a set of Portal-style wormholes between the worlds and their destination before gently shoving them through. If you just tug it on a chain and somehow prevent the planets from tearing apart you still have to realign it in orbit properly so that it doesn't crash into existing planets/planetoids, end up too far/too near the sun for sentient life to survive and calibrate the orbits so days and so on can work properly.

Nah. Magic in FR specific is based off a thing called the Weave, which was constructed by the goddess of magic. Without it, even in-setting, said magic doesn't function. There are actually areas where the Weave is damaged or absent, and magic doesn't work there.

If you had a sufficiently powerful source of magic that you could overlay atop the world, you could construct your own system of magic, but at that point you wouldn't really be limited to the D&D ruleset, and the system would only be limited by what you could get out of your source of magic.

That all said if you can get magic from a different D&D setting it would probably work much easier, provided again that you had some sort of magic to give people to work with. There's no "Weave" there, it's just magic like in any other setting.

To be fair, with the way Tokiomi talks about it and how prideful Magi are, it's possible he didn't realize how literal a moniker fuckpuppet would have been for Sakura.

>>
>>46967558
It's pretty unforgivable. I mean, would you give your child to a babysitter you hadn't vetted, let alone a magus? Look at Kiritsugu's dad and half the Dead Apostle Ancestors - it's not like there isn't a history of magi being horrific psychopaths.

>>46967583
Nah, Zouken gets killed with holy fire. Tokiomi just gets to take a ride in his cockpit first.

So. A question for ya'll's, Jumpers and Jumpettes.

In Mistborn a jump I barely see discussion, which I feel to be unfortunate the act of allomantic burning Gold (the metal) allows the person to see themselves - if they had made different choices (e.g. the main character Vin burning it saw themselves in a future where they hadn't decided to follow the false-MC Kelsier) and followed different paths or objectives.

My question is this: What would your Jumper see when burning Gold? How different would these alternates be compared to your present?
>>
>>46967714
It'd probably end up being an infinite fractal. A real headache.
>>
>>46967714
Well, I'd probably see what would have happened to my origins if they never awoke as a jumper. But that's probably too meta.

I guess I'd see the world where I never became a jumper. Just some nerd doing CYOAs on 4chan that seem weirdly familiar.
>>
>>46967714
Speaking of Mistborn, technically all of Brandon Sanderson's books take place in the same universe, just on different planets. Has anyone thought to take advantage of this through an FTL-capable ship? Maybe travel to Nalthis to purchase a bunch of Breath, or head to First of the Sun to grab a sample of the magic parasites that give the aviars their powers, something like that?
>>
>>46967825
Clover I think it was wants to make a jump for his other books.
>>
>>46967830
Yeah, but my point is that you could get to them even without a separate jump. You probably wouldn't interact with any of their plots, since while the timeline of when each story takes place is uncertain they likely don't happen all at the same time, but you could still do some fun stuff.

... ...ho boy.

I think the issue would be how easy it is to go hilariously off-kilter in these sorts of journeys. How easy would it be for someone to let it all go to their head? How easy to go absolutely insane inb4 'lol perks don't make you insane' from all the events you've seen, all the times your body has changed, even just from living so much longer than everyone else you knew back home. How far would realization push someone to become a hero of justice, or a terrible monster who sees everyone below them as food, only meant to fuel a higher being?

I think whenever my jumper burns Gold, that's the kind of things she sees. All the ways it could have gone awry, how close she is to just letting it all go and making declarations while laughing insanely, whether it's claiming they're a god who uses and abuses the cattle while ushering it as 'divine will' or just completely discarding all traces of being a person and just tying themselves to becoming an eldritch monster who only gives a shit about the big picture... and who cares what ants think when you're focusing on the planet.

It's a good motivator to not let it go to one's head. It's good to be confident in yourself and improve to become the best that you can be, but like hell going Ubermensch means a free ticket to being a colossal jackass.

Pic unrelated.
>>
>>46967918
Cheaper by the Dozens from Titanfall to make sure your stuff is optimal for mass production.

Manufacturing Line from Valkyria Chronicles to double your already ridiculous construction speeds.

Droids with Lightsabers from Star Wars Clone Wars to power your stuff with the Force. This'll allow all energy generation to go to building more instead of maintaining what you have.

I quite like the Gundams and Super Robot Wars to get nice mooks myself, just install a pilot AI.

Scan some Adamantium from Marvel to use that for armor, go to Blame! and Lord of Light for best weapons, maybe Young Justice for Amazo to give your army superpowers...

Really, SupCom can make pretty much everything great.

Nothing different from the kaleidoscope of infinite possibilities we take a look at once in a while on a day-to-day basis, really. Ocellos Dei saves us a lot of existential dread for the future, since observing the correct sequence of possibilities enforces predestination while negating Bad Ends.

With all the spiritual surgery we've undergone we should hope things like our Shadow, from Persona should have no hope of ever manifesting ever again.

Well, either that or >>46967812. That would be a mindfuck really, watching some nerd writing about our adventures starting from a sentence like "And as Anon looked over his creator's shoulder, his creator mulled over what his next reaction would be and wondered if it was too late to resolve Miyako and Yurko's shopping side-plot before the dramatic twist of Nyarlathotep's ice cream sundae surprise would enter his writefagging's plot. And that he should really be studying for tommorow's seminar instead of wasting his time on 4chan"

Probably all the retcons I've done, if I'm honest.

When I redo a build, it results in minor retcons. When a build gets updated or replaced, it results in (occasionally massive) retcons. These can result in small or massive changes to my character.

Like. When I first started jumpchain? I said I wasn't going to take any companions ever. Because, quite frankly, I'm a terrible person and I didn't want people to suffer with me. I stuck with that for a long time.
That jumper was very serious. She didn't fuck around a lot. ... but she was also very lonely.
And she had no one to catch her when she fell.

The very first companion I ever decided to take was Keef from stupid_dog's Invader Zim jump. Ie, a drawback companion. My first companion was from a drawback.
But I do jumps out of order, so this resulted in retcons where Keef (actually an Irken named Neet) had always been there, acting sortof like the Pinky to my Brain.
Neet was kindof stupid, couldn't die, and loved me no matter how I treated her, so... this was fine.

And it was a slippery slope from there. Gradually I added more drawback companions because they'd "always be there"... and then adding regular companions because I truly cared for them... and eventually adding more just because I thought they were fun or quirky.
And retcons made it so it had always been this way. I was always like this.

...
But sometimes... I wonder whatever would have happened to that very first Konata.
The one who was loved by no one.

To the anon who claimed the Mortal Kombat jump: I couldn't get your attention last thread, but I wanted to apologize, because I said I wouldn't make a Mortal Kombat jump and I did.

You were very polite, so I'm sorry if this offends you, but understand that I didn't make it to spite you, I made it because I was inspired and couldn't stop. I've never looked in these jump threads before I got that message but as I looked at more and more jumps in the drive I got more and more inspired, taken away with all the creativity I saw, and I had all the materials on my computer already for an MK jump, all the images and fonts and things I would need. Idea after idea and a desire to share the Mortal Kombat universe with other jumpers compelled me to make this. All the while I was worried about you and I felt a bit like I was going back on my word (which I was) so once again, I'm sorry.

I've seen some topics that have multiple jumps and I would like to see yours if you see it through all the way.

I really know nothing about you guys, I've only been lurking for a few days, but if you remove it so be it. Yes, it was love for the setting, because it's the only setting I really specialize in and it's the one thing I could contribute to the thread. So you know, I wanted to make it nice because I wanted to share it. I finished it and there it was in my folder for only me to enjoy.

Like if it's honestly a taboo thing around here, what I did, and I don't like that I did it in this context, because if I had ever looked at these threads I would've made it in a heartbeat like I did when I first really looked. Inspiration came in a flood.

Lerasium, when eaten, turns people into Mistborn - the metaphysical power of the setting where consumption and 'burning' a metal in one's stomach grants a power corresponding to that metal, e.g. Steel granting high-force telekinetic pushing ability against all other metallic objects.

And I needn't tell you how weird people can be, when kids willingly eat dirt. All it takes is one person accidentally swallowing a lerasium marble.

E.g., if you buy Cold elemental, wouldn't you just use that for a Stunner?

>Wahh why can't I ignore the canon of the setting

>>
>>46968551
It's a practical move, I'm afraid. We only allow one claim on a setting to prevent competition between jumps and drama between jumpmakers. Once a claim is staked, it's not a race to get it done. You just have to show you haven't abandoned it every few months. The claim was staked on Mortal Kombat, and we can't allow someone to ignore that rule just because they really love the setting and work quickly. It'd end poorly.

There are other Jumpchain communities that you could take it to, like Questionable Questing and Spacebattles.

I saved your jump, and I'll probably use it in a private chain. It's just bannable from thread and drive. That's as far as the rules reach.
>>
>>46968774
Ew, I don't like what he did but you really shouldn't try and banish him to the ghettos.
>>

>>
>>46968793

>>
>>46968793

>>
>>46968837

>>46968832

>>
>>46968807
I'd say it's less some settings and more some concepts. Replicating lerasium (or atium) goes against a really big part of the metaphysics of the setting. I'd be having the same response if you were violating a major metaphysical detail of another setting, like...I don't know, going to DC and saying that your perks let you survive going past the Source Wall and reproducing the Source's power.

Your waifu admitted they didn't see that ruling in the jump and the matter was settled, you're just shitting up the thread now.
>>
>>46968741
Let me elaborate on this a little bit more. Toasty is good - it lets you understand exactly what it does. You're followed by a magic head that makes you lucky. Friendship is good too - you can make people you defeat into your friends. Might be under costed, but it's an explanation.

But what about Brutality? You can punch someone to death? You can already do that without the perk, though. What does it do in comparison to X-Ray? Animality - do you just turn into an animal to kill someone you've already crippled? That could probably just be a form of Fatality.

Also, there's a lot of things missing that I'd love to see. Cybernetics, for example. Or Ninjutsu - you've got backgrounds for it, but it's still something people would like to learn. Maybe showmanship a'la Johnny Cage? Being able to psyche yourself up until you can cut through diamonds with your hands? Shapeshifting? All kinds of cool shit you could be including.

I'd say review some other peoples' images CYOAs before revising this. You've got a good start, but it needs a lot of work.
>>
>>46968957

>>46969239
Agreed-emphasis on guidelines, but that should definitely be added to the FAQ to prevent this sort of misunderstanding in the future. Who's in charge of managing the FAQ?

More I read One Piece the more retconning I have to do. Had a bad thought about Devil Fruit. Realised that while I can reasonably bank on me not dying and therefore losing my fruit powers via reincarnation due to being mostly pretty cautious I'd have to be more careful with my companion.

My only companion is basically a bodyguard who occasionally gets sent on suicide missions. Doesn't die as much as he used to but he does still die from time to time. Figure with a pessimistic understanding of the jump it means it's probably worth paying for a devil fruit for him while sourcing my own. Rolled Light-Light which was neat although I basically wasted the leftover 100 CP on making him a little taller. Decided red light would be a good aesthetic choice as he was based on Tosh out of Starcraft (big spooky Jamaican) and he has a lot of red lights on him.

Still can never really decide on a name for myself. Know it's going to be Caratacus D. Something but can't figure out what the Something is. Landed on Vox for a while (thinking about the Vox Populi from Bioshock Infinite) and then remembered Bono used to be referred to as Bono Vox and that sort of took the fun out of it. Put more thought into this name than any other build related thing and still can't think of anything good.

Also realised how dodgy some of the prices are in the jump. Ice is cheaper than fire and is probably much better given how they each stood up against magma.

Y'all weren't here the last time someone tried to suggest updating the FAQ, were you?

The shitstorm devoured the whole thread and it was one of the reasons MoeAnon started to leave the thread, because apparently mentioning 'guidelines' is like rules, and rules are limits, and limits keep us from killing jumpchan and making her our loli slave.
>>
>>46969281
>Also realised how dodgy some of the prices are in the jump. Ice is cheaper than fire and is probably much better given how they each stood up against magma.

Eh, I'd say don't judge the fruit power, judge the skill level. Aokiji is about on the same par skill-wise as Magma-Broski, whereas Ace would've been below that.
>>
>>46969308
No. No I was not. And that doesn't answer my question.

From what I've heard it seems to have been for the best that MoeAnon left entirely, though. So there's that silver lining.

>Had a bad thought about Devil Fruit

You and me both. I just upped and realised one day that magic pirate fruit is fucking retarded, while shouting at people is a perfectly respectable talent.

So what's your name? Or d'you literally go by Cool Cats Don't Trip like how I've spent all my chain, even before going all Anti-Spiral, calling myself Anon? Which is why I couldn't afford the discount, for that matter.
>>
>>46969345
No one is in charge because no one can agree on anything. The FAQ will never be updated because the last time someone tried they got shat on.

Any time you see someone bitch about "nerfs" or "limits"? You have them to thank.
>>
So just as a general nonbinding completely optional guideline what do you usually like to see in a jump format?

I like the 4 sets of 100, 200, 400, 600 with an occasional customizing table myself.

Not discounted perks are kinda nice too.
>>
Speaking of One Piece, does anyone have any idea how the Copy-Copy Fruit works?

It says you can copy up to 3 devil fruit abilities, with non-damaging by touch and attacks by getting hit with it.

But... Let's say I get it and walk up to Enel. Could I simply poke him and get the full Rumble-Rumble logia powers? Or would that only get one part of it, like the turning into electricity bit, treating everything he can do as seperate abilities? Or would I have to get hit by him to get full Rumble-Rumble, since he can do damage with his lightning?
>>

>>46969392
I don't meanupdating the existing FAQ. I mean making a new one, not even a rule really but just a little reminder to prevent people from falling into this pitfall. Because doing nothing, hoping for the best and blaming people for not being precognative isn't a solution either. Something maybe like

http://pastebin.com/w5jjWvnH

perhaps?
>>
>>46969470
I thought 3 fruit abilities total but now I'm not so sure.

It does make me wonder if you did copy someone, learned how to use their fruit, dropped its ability for another, then got it back again, if you would still have the same capacity with it as before.
>>
>>46969389
I change my name most jumps. For One Piece the best I've got is Caratacus D. Vox at the minute but the given name is subject to retcons due to unfortunate U2 connotations.

That's a pretty good setup.

The 100/300/600 with 2 perks per CP tier setup in Sword & Sorcery and Swat Kats is pretty good too though.

And undiscounted perks are good, whenever feasible due to the setting's breadth it's nice to seem one for each CP tier like in Devil Survivor.

>>46969488
Cho Aniki isn't one of the big 3 and never pretended to make sense in the first place, though.
>>
>>46969448
That's a good general set of perks, although breaking out if it is good too. Doubled sets are generally too much - if a background and its entire tree costs more than 1000 CP to take, then you're probably offering too many choices.

I also like to see non-discounted perks sometimes, or roll your own discounts. Capstone perks are a cool idea, although they tend to be a must-buy for every build when you do add them.
>>
>>46969448
I like when perk effects are clearly spelled and i dont have to spend an hour trying to decript the fluff, I'm looking at you chrono trigger
>>
>>46969546
Yeah... I'm hoping someone else knows.

But on the 'copy, learn, discard, copy again' thing... you'd probably still have the same capacity? Growth of fruit abilities seems to mostly be skill (as far as I know), so you wouldn't lose that. Maybe you'd be a bit out of practice through.
>>
>>46969622
>Too many choices
No.
>>
>>46969668
Feel free to disagree, but when I get that many choices, and only 1600 CP to spend, the Jump just ends up not feeling satisfying to me.
>>
>>46969622
>>46969668
>>46969730
Personally I believe that if a jumpmaker is gonna make a double perk tree, then the drawback limit should be raised from the base 600 cp to about 1000.

Odds are if you're unable to purchase all the perks of an origin, you won't be on the level with the setting, and that doesn't sit right with me.
>>
>>46969818
Unless the backgrounds are based on an archetype of character, rather than an individual. In which case you can just take one set and be perfectly on the level.

That's when it was posted, yeah.

Looking back, I remember there was some option in there to make your own monster. So an anon decided they'd give a monster 'power over time and space' and win jumpchain forever.
When the author said you can't do that, the anon in question said fuck you, even after revisions were made. So after repeatedly trying to fix it he finally gave up and said the jump wouldn't be put up on the drive.

That was back in 2015. Now someone took his work and threw it up on the drive anyway without alerting the thread.

>...Wow, you have so much sarcasm for someone your age.
>Pardon, ma'am?
>You can call me Sissi. So are you from Texas?

I'm just a mysterious cowboy child that Xana has some weird obsession with. The Lyoko Warriors actually put a pretty thorough investigation into my past, and they found out it's basically all bullshit. And when they ask me about it, I admit to being a cowboy in Australia in the 1880s. They had trouble believing that. Still, I had a magic revolver and some really old cowboy stuff lying around my room, and I didn't talk like a child. I also had a guitar and could sing country music well, which helped for some reason.

I ran defense while the Lyoko Warriors handled Xana and Aelita, mostly because the plot can't last more than a couple years and then I'll mosey on to some more fun places, fighting crime and helping people with my magic revolver and ability to read the hearts of men. I'll be the Whizbang Kid.

Incorrect. A shard's influence on the magic systems of the world it lands on varies from shard to shard. For example, Awakening is dependent on being a native of Nalthis and having been affected by Endowment. But anyone can use Breath anywhere, just only for its passive effects instead of necromancy. Likewise, Allomancy requires Preservation's blessing, but can be used anywhere, based on Sanderson's comments that eventually the Scadrians will expand out into space with Allomancy-derived FTL. Furthermore, there are lots of magic systems that aren't related to the shards. Ferruchemy is native to Scadrial, not a gift from the shards. The spren on Roshar existed before Honor, Cultivation and Odium got there, their appearance just spurred them to more activity. The aviars of First of the Sun get their powers from naturally-occurring symbiotes, there aren't any Shards on First of the Sun at all. The shades of Threnody have no origin in any shard. Shards warp magic, they don't create it. There's still plenty to get that wouldn't require Jump-chan intervention to keep working.
>>
>>46971758
I'm not. I'm offering to fix spacing, no actual changes to the jump it irritates me to look at. it looks like he literally needs to delete two blank lines that he only used to space the title "gear" (and no other title) and change the size of the font of the flavour text in bold down 1. That should bring everything into line.

I'm not irc illuminati or whatever i go in thread for criticism like everyone else.

Corrupting influence. 1400cp some spirits are so very wrong that their presence and influence leaves a taint on others. With this you are able to correct the land, the mind , the spirit and the body into something both more and less than what was bringing it in line to your values and aesthetic, the more you taint the more your spiritual power grows, and the more pleasing the world around you becomes. Those that you taint become slaves to your will. The spirits living or dead that you taint become willing prey to help you grow, the land that you taint shifts into something more your taste and grows more easily habitable to those whose bodies you taint.

Double-Genius Firebending in Avatar and LoK is the best one I can think of off the bat.

Summer Magic from Four Seasons Four Loves from Chronicles of Narnia would probably be pretty good too.

While we're at it, getting the Sunny Day move from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon to boost the power of your fire attacks is probably pretty good too.

Smoke Conduit powers from Infamous might work too.

And now, we need to wait for someone to make a Beavis and Butthead jump so we can get a Fire! Fire! Yeah! perk.

Manton Effect is unique, sadly.

If you mean actual durability, PS238's FISS5 and X-Men's Inorganic Body (not sure that's the name) can handle small nukes.

Apparently the bias against FISS supers verges on actual racism (powerism?) level stuff, so you might want to bow out of that one.

The big deal is that you need internal resistance- how tough your skin is only matters a little bit.

So, you need to be able to tank lightning bolts, fire hot enough to melt steel, and plain being tough enough to handle a few sonic booms right next to you.

Then you need to make sure whatever's giving you that durability applies to your insides- you can't just have skin tough as Adamantium and squishy normal human internals.

Wildbow went and said that in one of his original drafts-which would just be a single Endbringer fight- Parian was the MC and would figure out some hidden property or technique with her power that'd let her turn the tide and "end" the fight against Big B.
>>
>>46972999

>>46973054
Always seen that as him just trolling his fans given how he's shot down just about every idea possible.
>>
>>46973009
It was a "Word of Wildbow" sort of thing.
Now dont take my word for granted, but if I remembered correctly, she was a counter because she could potentially weave the energy Behemoth generates and use it to power up her minions, since when she explains how her power works, she "soaks" her needle and by extension her thread, in energy and animates it. But I could be remembering It wrong, but I believe that was the gist of it
>>
>>46972877
Have you jumped heavens lost property? if not thats probably a good place to go adapt the software they use to make the angeloids imprint to automatically set you as the master and bam! instant loyalty.

Also shaper's authority should help but redundancy is your friend.
>>
>>46973070
I wouldn't be surprised either way to be perfectly honest
>>
>>46972880
The best anti-Behemoth perk is Energy Absorption from X-Men. However, some good heat, lighting, and radiation resistance or immunity perks should protect you as well. But yeah, the most important thing you need is internal toughness - he can generate heat inside of you, so if you don't have something that can deal with that, you die.
>>
>>46973076
That...makes no sense with his other comments. Behemoth isn't throwing around enough energy to get through more then a few layers of his own skin, certainly not kill him or even do as well as some of the other heroes do against him. Another case of Wildbow making stuff up?
>>
>>46973019
Hey wait a minute.

Is everyone in Worm a lesbian or something? Every time I hear about a couple they're always two girls.
>>
>>46973064
>>46973076
Goddammit, Wildbow. I wish you'd learn to show and not tell.
>>
>>46973092
You'd need to spend a lot of time training Energy Absorption first, though. It doesn't start out even able to tank nukes, and Behemoth could, if he got annoyed enough with you to stop playing around, put out a lot more energy than a nuke.
>>
>>46973103
Yeah, I could probably be remembering it completely wrong then on my part. I usually trust Wildbow in regards to his words. But I believe her weaving the energy would at least fuck up Behemoths killzone, because if Im correct, entering that field is just entering behemoths energy playground
>>
>>46973113
No. Canonically there are only two homosexual relationships we know about. One male/male (Legend and his husband), one female/female (Foil and Parian). There's also Panacea, but she's not really in anything you could call a "relationship". However, the majority of the characters that the plot focuses on are female, so when it comes to shipping in the fandom there is a lot of lesbian pairings.
>>
>>46973120
First off, no. Fuck Wildbow. If they didn't do it in canon they can't do it, period.

With that said, training it up is a good idea in general.
>>
>>46973154
Makes sense, I suppose.

Phase Pierce: 300 CP, Discount Female
As with Phase Scream, you’re now a Siren, with all the weirdness that entails. Now, though, you can partially fade out of normal space. For a brief period, you’re able to selectively see through obstacles, from crates to mountains-targets up to a thousand miles away are laid bare to your sights. With practice, you can even bring a weapon with you and get off a single shot that will similarly pierce through all obstacles on its way to a target.

Not exactly the same as Sting, but similar, thanks for bringing it to my attention
>>
>>46973103
My best guess is that previous drafts had different power levels.
>>
>>46973113
There's like 3 lesbians in the whole thing. Foil and Parian are a couple, and Panacea has a crush on her adoptive sister, who is straight until accidentally mindraped and even then they don't get together. The other couples that take up a chunk of actual screen time are all straight.

On a completely separate not Innistrad and Zendikar should be done around June tenth after my university exams.
>>
>>46973165
I'm talking about things he has done in canon. There's mention of early attempts at stopping Behemoth being done with nuclear weapons, only for him to redirect the energy they released to fuck up his targets even worse.
>>
>>46973222
That doesn't really mean he can 'put out a lot more energy then a nuke'. It's just consistent with his powers of being able to control existing energy as well as creating it and shows that he can do it up to the level of a nuclear bomb.
>>
>>46973188
Sounds awesome. Those are both really cool settings and I look forward to visiting them. Out of curiosity, will our "nascent potential spark" or however it works with Jumpchain be recognized by the lock on the hedron network in Zendikar? Please tell me the answer is "no".
>>
>>46973252
Well, technically he can't output any energy at all. All of his feats are done with absorbed energy. But given that he spends most of his time floating around in the Earth's mantle absorbing heat, I figure he probably has a pretty good stockpile to work with.
>>

No it will not. there will be a drawback in zendikar however where you are in a similar situation to ob nixilis and will need to break free in ten years or be stranded. you do not get a spark if you succeed because i am not an idiot and like not being hated out the thread.

>>46973269
Yeah, but we never see him putting out that much heat that quickly. If someone hits him with a nuke he could certainly send it into you instead, but it looks like there's a maximum for how much he can radiate from his personal battery.
>>
>>46973472
Maybe. The whole "Endbringers are always sandbagging" thing makes it hard to tell how much they're actually capable of and how much is just Wildbow trolling. It's kind of annoying, really.
>>

We have better estimates with behemoth though during his death fight. though i doubt that was everything we don't see anything massively in excess of the feats he shows there in lev and sim vs scion so its pretty safe to assume its pretty close to his ceiling assuming approximate equality in all EB's.

Actually there is one power that can lolnope anything directly applied to the jumper's body, Imagine Breaker from index.

Due to your right hand nullifying any supernatural phenomenon it touches and the fact that it is always touching you makes you immune to any supernatural effect that is applied directly to your body.
>>
>>46973628
Yeah, that's La Pucelle Tactics, Priere or something to that effect
>>
>>46973513
I always figured that as "they're not fighting to win," not "they're secretly much stronger." Their tactics are designed to terrify - they appear with a lot of warning, slowly progress towards a goal, pretend their powers require them to gesture and otherwise act like a Parahuman, and retreat when superficially damaged. If they didn't want to give the illusion that they could be beaten, they'd just make a beeline for their targets, unleashing spherical attacks without a single gesture the entire way.
>>
>>46973634
Not the anon, but I'm pretty sure if someone shot magic bolt at you regardless if Imagine breaker is touchin you or anything, if it doesnt touch your hand, its all fair game, esoteric effects like illusions and the such are most likely negated though.

But Imagine breaker also has a problem hurting "natural" things, like souls, because its "natural". So I'm pretty sure even an Omega ray is fucking you up regardless of Imagine Breaker. But I may have that wrong.

Sometimes I think certain Silver age Comics are just the character on a drug trip.
Lets be honest even the most strain arrow hero is exposed to an awful lot of mind altering drugs in their adventures. Hell almost every one of Batman's villains seems to have some chemical weapon of some sort. So yeah the silver age was most likely mass tripping of balls.
>>
>>46973735
Okay. Your best bet to do so without using That perk from Kancolle, is to basically nanofabricate/biofabricate amazo's absorption cells. If we take "absorption cells" literally, then that means they are biological cells that mimic the supernatural stuff amazo see's to allow him to use that crazy shit, like even Speedforce isn't beyond him. So you have to beat a version of him and basically examine his cells and replicate them. preferably a stronger version than the YJ verse one via Doormaker, and find a stronger amazo from another world
>>
>>46972658
Is it unique to Jumps or to media? There's gotta be some other setting with a "don't put your powers inside me" rule.
>>
>>46973801
So defeat Amazo from the Justice League cartoon? If I get to him soon enough I could just talk to him and get him to help me.
>>
>>46973726
True, unless it hits your right hand it would only protect you from supernatural effects being applied to you directly. This means that a fireball would burn you but any curse or other esoteric effect that the fireball was meant to apply to you along with burning you would be lolnoped, this basically acts similarly to the manton effect from the Alexandria Package as long as your right hand remains attached to your body.

Of course this only works while your hand is still attached but knowing what is contained by imagine breaker anyone who removes that arm against your will is a special kind of fucked.
>>
>>46973842
Isn't there a Justice League Jump coming soon? If so, then yes you could very well do that, unless theres an in-jump rule against such things. Or, you could probably doormaker yourself to a justice league cartoon-verse. Anyhow, good luck on your chain.

I want you guy's opinion on something.

A couple threads ago, someone posted a build for Touhou and chose Diamond in the Rough as their secondary canon. Now, I kind of want to make a Diamond in the Rough jump. What do you guys think? My main concerns would be differentiating it from the Touhou jump, but I think some of the themes from it would apply interestingly to jumpers.

I'm still in the really early stages of brainstorming and just spitballing, but here are some ideas I'm considering:
I'm split between making Gappy the drop-in origin and just making everyone a Gappy/drop-in, because that would fit the setting really well, and using the "one discount per tier" system.
One of the capstones would be a perk that makes it really easy for you to convince people to build things for you or teach you things like secret forbidden techniques that they really shouldn't.
There would be an "overly large amount of swords" option in the gear section.
All the capstones would be based on acquiring personal power, but there would be a "Personal Awareness" capstone booster that gives them added effects based around helping other people. For example, the "convince people to give you stuff and teach you things" capstone mentioned earlier would be boosted to also make you a great teacher.
There'd be a power that's a blatant ripoff of Brolli's that involves materializing versions of yourself from previous jumps.
Maybe a joke "It's spelled with a Y" drawback where Brolli is replaced with Broly?
I don't know what they'd do, but "you are not the hero"and "I'll be different" would definitely be drawbacks.
>>
>>46974145
No, just being a fanfiction of an existing jump isn't enough to justify it.

The character it is based on has lolnoped magic, espers, superpowers, and the omnipotent Judeo-Christian god. The point of the ability is basically fuck your ridiculous powers I am punching you in the face.
>>
>>46973958
Not the anon but seriously, DC tech can seriously improve a jumpers arsenal. I mean, just picture a Starro Tech Amazo-army being mass produced by an ACU that was seeded in another earth, giving it an endless supply of materials. The thought of each "Mass Production Amazo" having the Reload power from Bio Mega is scary.

>>

I'd...say that you probably can't. I don't think there's any that differs it from the Touhou jump we have, especially since the Touhou jump actually has an option to go here. If it didn't let you go here you might have a case but as is, this'd be nothing but giving out more powers for something you can already go to.
>>
>>46974203

Question for Uncledante or whoever helped make the DMC jump.

Is there a way to get a Devil Trigger without taking demon or hybrid as origin? Does the Devil Buster makes you able to develop one at some point?
>>
>>46974142
Technically that was not erasing his memory with magic but rater causing severe brain damage with magic. There are also a number of ways around Imagine Breaker however which have been used against the main character either intentionally or through dumb luck over the course of the series.

There was also a character who made his own beliefs reality through force of will and got around imagine breaker by having his beliefs become reality through whatever method worked rather than by affecting the protagonist directly.
>>
>>46974237
Espers in the index setting are based on science, it is kind of the major theme of the story.
>>
>>46974198
It's actually a quest.
>>
>>46974145
While I appreciate the thought, there's not much reason.

It's not too different from regular Touhou, and you can go there already safely with Secondary Canon.
>>
>>46974383
It's a major theme of the first part of the story, until it's revealed they're an experiment in miracles by Crowley to replace reality with a new one brought about by their magic.

Academy City loves science, but espers aren't scientific.
>>
>>46974464
So Espers aren't science? How does that work? They're just gimped magicians?
>>
>>46974491
It's basically just about fucking up people's view of reality so the AIM fields they put out end up warping reality into a new one. Think of it like, some guy is taking people, giving them Reality Marbles (which are a type of magecraft) that are on 24/7, spreading them out so those Reality Marbles cover enough of the planet, and then letting those reality marbles take over so their reality is now the default.
>>
>>46974383
Well, yes, but that's a simplification. Imagine Breaker isn't anti-magic or anti-esper, it's pro-normality. Esper powers and magic both work by projecting the user's own personal reality, the difference in them is just one of the method they use. Imagine Breaker works by reasserting the true reality over the altered one. Any effect based in normal, non-manipulated physics can't be negated by it. So a lot of superpowers or hypertech would handle it just fine.

>>46974491
Espers are convergent evolution with magic. Same effect, different mechanism. They're not science because they defy the scientific method. You can't analyze or reproduce miracles. You can apply the scientific method to what they do, and a little bit to what causes them to appear, but the powers themselves are just as unscientific as spells are.
>>
>>46974464
Not him, but this is as good a point to ask as any.

I keep hearing in Vs Battle places that Imagine Breaker effectively has its own built-in idea of how things should be, and cancels things which deviate from it. Espers and magicians are screwed by this for obvious reasons. But this is also used as the reason why Touma succesfully grabbing Superman would either transform him into a normal human (since he's close enough to one from the outside) or pop him out of existence, and other such things.

Is this complete bullshit made up by nerds wanting their favorite characters to win imaginary fights, or actually canon?
>>
>>46974556
Too bad you can analyze and reproduce spells in Index.
>>
>>46974581
Yeah, that is the weird thing, isn't it? Magic is a more reproducible phenomenon than the "science" side's preferred method of warping reality. I think it's meant to be irony.
>>
>>46974464
The source material, the word of god, and the jump text say that it will negate ANYTHING supernatural up the the power level of it's feats in the source of course, there are no limits on this other than something that surpasses the strength of the negation effect.
>>
>>46974603
I get the feeling that you're very new here.
>>
>>46974569
Yeah, that's pretty much total bullshit.
>>
>>46974569
It's not completely made up. Imagine Breaker does have an idea of what things should be that it will adjust them to. But it doesn't just annihilate things that are outside its world model. It works by comparing the real world to the altered world that espers and magicians make. It would only get rid of Superman if he was something from that world that had been altered by changing reality. Same with his powers, he's not an empowered human so it wouldn't negate them. It's natural for Kryptonians to be that powerful, whether it's natural for a human doesn't matter.
>>
>>46974332
As far as I know the answer is no, not unless you splice demon DNA into you with the perk that lets you do that. The Devil Buster (or Bringer) I think only changes your Devil Trigger if you actually have one, I don't think it's enough to give you one.
>>
>>46974657
Oh, also: Imagine Breaker has a maximum power level that it can affect, it's not omnipotent. Superman is likely outside its bounds. Especially since reality-warpers have tried to get rid of him before and failed. Probably has something to do with him being the living narrative weapon of the Monitors.
>>
>>46974569
I could maybe - MAYBE - see an argument for it letting him punch Superman and hurt him like he was a human, or block a punch from Superman and have it hurt like Superman was a human. Depowering him or popping him like a soap bubble, though? They're out of their fucking gourds.
>>
>>46974569
Reality enforcement is basically what imagine breaker does, it functions by normalizing what it touches to mundane values. It would turn superman into a normal person by touching him but only for as long as it was touching him; Superman would still win just by hitting Touma anywhere other than his right hand, melting his brain with heat vision, just throwing a rock at his head, or really an infinite variety of ways.

The best way to deal with imagine breaker is to throw a rock at Touma's head with super strength and tell him to negate that,it is indeed a plot device level ability but it is far from invincible.
>>
>>46974821
>Would turn superman normal
No, it wouldn't. It might stop Doctor Strange from using his magic on Touma but it won't remove Superman's natural physical abilities.
>>
>>46974798

>Superman is a pretty buff guy, even without Kryptonian powers
>>
>>46974843
Superman doesn't have any natural abilities, he absorbs power from a yellow sun and uses it to gain superpowers. Imagine breaker would nullify his powers for as long as it was in contact with him and no longer, all superman would have to do is step back and then destroy him in any number of ways but he would have to step back. Even if it could depower superman long term it wouldn't help because superman without his powers is still shown to be peak human and would mop the floor with Touma.

Also Touma wouldn't be safe from Dr. Strange's magic unless it hit his right hand or was directly applied to his body, all he would have to do is aim at the left side of him.
>>
>>46974970
Those are natural abilities for his race and universe. His powers are not supernatural.
>>
>>46974970
Er, no. Kryptonians all have the whole sunlight absorption. That's an innate biological ability they have. Imagine Breaker won't stop that anymore then it stops someone breathing with their lungs.
>>
>>46974984
Yeah, it's like saying that a human's ability to produce body heat isn't natural since they absorb that energy from food and oxygen.
>>
>>46974984
So does that mean that any jump drawback that says you lose your supernatural abilities you could still keep the ones that aren't "supernatural"?
>>
>>46975034
If the jump was dumb enough to word it that way with no qualifiers. Generally people are smart enough to say 'regular humans' or something.
>>
>>46975034
No, because at that point your being a semantic retard and ignoring the spirit of those drawbacks.
>>
>>46975034
>cue several jumpmakers going back to reword that shit.
>>
>>46974984
Well, look at it this way. Superman effectively multiplies the energy he takes in, considering the ratio between energy he'd get from the sun and the wacky shit he pulls regularly. Yes, it's based on regular biology, but it still completely breaks what we know of how the world works.

The big point here is, saying that the Raildex universe natively supports comicbook Kryptonians is a bigger leap in logic than saying it doesn't. With the way IB works according to those other guys, that's why it'd consider Supes magic and cancel it out.
>>
>>46975158

Your perception of Earth reality means nothing to DC. Same way that Imagine Breaker can't hurt souls, despite them being unnatural by what we know about OUR world.

Nobody is at FTL-level tech. We're getting that in future Mistborn so don't get in too much of a hurry.
>>
>>46975158
If I remember right, the sunlight is just a catalyst. He's producing the energy internally, yellow sunlight is just what he needs to begin the process. So he is multiplying the energy, but through a process that's natural.
>>
>>46975013
Even if those abilities are inherent to their race that doesn't make them any less supernatural, even if it wasn't supernatural from the setting's standpoint they would be from imagine breaker's. If imagine breaker is resetting values to "normal" it would do so acording to it's own definition of normal.

Also the yellow sun thing isn't unique to krypton, there are other races that are empowers by yellow suns due to their planet orbiting a red one. There have been a few characters mentioning that including at least one version of Mongul.
>>
>>46975158
Thats because in their "reality" it all works. The DC"Source" breaks all sorts of things in our reality. But if Darkseid fired that Omega ray, you bet your ass someones getting fucked up, regardless of Imagine Breaker, because it was explained that "natural" things can't be dispelled or whatever by touma. The normal reality in Type Moon is a formless void of nothing.
>>
>>46975402
By that logic then it should have no weakness, but yet it DOES have problems affecting natural things like souls and "leylines" in its own canon reality. The omega force or any "source" related attack for example is something even the IB wouldn't negate because its the "power of the world" type of thing, which IB can't negate.
>>
Daily reminder that Pharohman has already taught us how to beat IB.

>>
>>46975471
Well Imagine breaker's idea of normal isn't a void so it obviously isn't going to normalize it into a void.
>>46975475
No it does not negate things like leylines or souls but it does negate things powered by them, such as magic powered by a mage's soul or fueled through tapping into a leyline.

It would not negate the omega force but it would negate omega beams powered by the omega force.

What's with new jumpers always thinking they can get one perk and trump everything?
>>
>>46975475
It has a ton of weaknesses, a gun or any other mundane weapon is a hard counter to IB.
>>
>>46975549
Except it also has a maximum upper limit. So it should probably max out against a lot of the stronger effects out there. Such as the Omega Beams, those are literally godly powerful.
>>
>>46975578
Seeing as the IB you can get in the Railgun jump specifically says there's only so much it's gonna do by itself, I'm assuming he's arguing about what canon IB would do.

In which case this entire conversation, while enlightening, was completely pointless.
>>
>>46975653
I think he doesn't know the difference.
>>
>>46975585
Thats true, I meant more in regards to lolnoping what should be completely impossible to lolnope. Superman's natural ability as a kryptonian should be ineffected by IB, so should Martian Manhunter and other "natural things".
I can see it working around omega beams in a fanwanky sorta way, but not things that are straight up "natural" even in a "supernatural" sorta way. I mean next thing you know, we have IB being able to punch out chaos gods in warhammer 40K
>>
>>46975578
Imagine breaker does not trump everything, all that would be needed to kill someone with imagine breaker is to:

Hit them something mundane

Hit them with anything anywhere other than their right hand

Throw a rock at them with super strength

Hit them with super strength using a melee weapon (hitting their right hand directly might negate the super stregth behind it but there is nothing to normalize about a hammer that is being moved with super strength).

There is a reason why Railgun's rail-gun has never been negated, there is nothing to normalize about a coin that has been accelerated at someone at above mach speed.
>>
>>46975653
See? From >>46975736 he clearly has no idea.
>>
>>46975736
Apart from Touma explicitly negating it at the start of the series?

In any case, your missing the point of what people are telling you. Imagine Breaker isn't going to normalise everything it touches because some things are stronger then it can handle, Omega Effect being an example of one such thing.
>>
>>46975773
He also once blocked a punch from a giant golem, despite the fact that the golem should still have momentum even if that momentum came from a magical source. Imagine Breaker is kind of inconsistent in what it can do.
>>
>>46975807
Most of the ToAru series is like that. Tries to give semi explanations for it's stuff and only ends up making holes in the logic when things don't stay consistent.
>>
>>46975692
Imagine Breaker normalizes everything outside of its own definition of normal.

That means that yes it would null superman's powers (as long as it remained in contact) and Darkseid's beams but there is a limit to how fast it can normalize things.

While the right hand is immune the rest of Touma isn't and his hand would probably be all that would be left of him after trying to normalize something as powerful Darkseid's beams.
>>
>>46972300
>And several "education that follows you anywhere" perks?

Such as? I could use some.
>>
>>46975773
That is because the golem is magic, if it had been smart like accelerator an tried hitting him with a steel girder that wouldn't have happened, also he broke hes hand due to the leftover momentum that was still there after the golem was destroyed.

>>46975773
I know that IB won't negate the Omega Force but the Omega Beams that Darkseid use is a bit tricky, if it is the comic book omega beams then it is too much for imagine breaker but if it was the animated series omega beams then IB would deal with it easily.
>>
>>46975957
The golem was animated from normal materials by magic. If it had been made completely from magic then IB should have dispelled it. But it didn't and neither did it crush him under the weight of the stone. Hence it's inconsistent. I notice you also haven't responded to the point that Misaka's Railgun was blocked by IB as a pointed out inconsistency.
>>
>>46975957
The golem's animation was magic, but its body was made of real matter. All that Imagine Breaker should have done was deanimate the golem. That doesn't do anything to stop the momentum of the punch, a fast moving heavy thing is still a fast moving heavy thing, no matter what set it in motion.
>>
>>46975985
Imagine Breaker never negated the railgun, you can see the scorch mark it left as it went past Touma, what it negated was her lightning attacks. As for the golem it was completely negated by IB but the stone was still there and it should have crushed him, he escaped with a broken hand due to his insane plot armor.
>>
>>46976040
Punching a rock will wreck your hand without any magic in the rock.
>>
>>46976000
Let's make this simple, imagine there are three of Touma:

The first Touma has a rack thrown at him with magic and he holds up his right hand to stop it. While the rock was initially propelled towards him with magic it is now simply a rock flying at him so imagine breaker does nothing and the rock breaks his hand.

The second Touma has a rock heading towards him that is being propelled continuously by magic and he also holds up his right hand to stop it. Since this rock is being actively propelled by a supernatural force the rock has it's momentum normalized to nothing and it just falls to the ground harmlessly once it touches his hand.

The third Touma is in a similar situation to the second but this one decides to punch the rock like an idiot. This rock also has it's momentum negated but since he is punching a rock he breaks his hand.

The third situation is pretty much what happened with the golem.

What perks or magic do I need to make an orchard produce absolutely fucking amazing fruit that grows at a visible rate?
>>
Can we just not agree that ToAru is inconsistent and leave it at that?
>>
>>46976400
Or science, should have included that as well. I don't discriminate.
>>
>>46976402
Yes, this seems like something that needs to be fan wanked per jumper.
>>
>>46976402
We mostly have. One just doesn't seem to accept his favourite series has many holes.
>>
How many Stars Wars jumps are there? The supplement seems to suggest there's more than 2, but I can only seem to find the KOTOR and Clone Wars ones
>>
>>46976440
There is another one in the works. OT I think? There was talk of others too but I don't know if they're being made.
>>
>>46976421
Being a son/daughter of Dionysus in the Percy Jackson jump might do it.
>>
>>46976440
There's only those two, and we have the Original Trilogy inbound and... feck.

Did anyone pick up The Old Republic after Bramastra dropped it?
>>
>>46976455
that was supposed to be in response to >>46976400
oops.

There's two for now but the guy who made them is working on an Original Trilogy jump at the moment.

You underestimate the power of my hype.
