They might have automata in the fancier parts of The Empire, Altdorf and the like, but we've almost certainly never seen them.

The Dwarf might get involved since the machine is obviously valuable and he might be rewarded for helping it or he may even try to sell it.

I dunno what the Bretonnian would do though, if it was a person then he'd be obliged to intervene but since it's a machine I'm not sure he'd care.

I'll reply with a real world situation.

A friend of mine told me about this one time when he went out to some party.
As usual, there were loads of people drinking in front of the club. Also , as usual, there were some poor people going around collecting cans and and bottles to sell for recycling.

Among them there was this old man so hunchback he could barely walk and there was this group of kids that put a can a couple of meters from him and each when he got close to it they would pick it up and move it a bit further.
