I do not have friends.
Is there a way I can play tabletop RPGs alone on my desktop?
I've played some modules alone using pen and paper, but there must be a less depressing way.
If you don't have friends don't play with me
I don't think you should play with anyone unless you can make a friend

I don't want to play with you.
Roll20 is pretty good from what I hear. It connects you with other people that need people to play with.

Either try to find online games with people, IRL games with people you don't already know, or stick with solo play/vidya.
Go get some friends?
Also, there's tons of computer rpg's, are they somehow not what you're looking for?

There are a lot of computer RPGs, but there's an even greater variety of tabletop RPGs.
Check out the Lone Wolf gamebooks at projectaon.

There really isn't.
Play some CRPGs or game with strangers. Or both.

Play RPG videogames based off tabletops. Two good examples are Vampire the Masquerade:Bloodlines and Temple of Elemental Evil.
Alternatively, play Traveller. Traveller has actual rules for single player and enough random generation tables to make your own adventure from scratch without knowing it all in advance (you roll as you go). Also, have an internet hug.
Check out twitch plays dnd streams and sign up.

That's just some basic stuff. For supplements, it all depends on what you can find yourself - Traveller is a very old game (since 1977), and it has lots of homebrews, various adventure modules, one-shot games, ships, system charts, you name it, scattered all across the internets. Sometimes very old internets.

This. You might stumble upon some shitty groups/DMs but you could always leave if you do not enjoy it. I strongly recommend checking it out.
Get a PS2 emulator and Play Unlimited Saga.
Basically 7 different campaigns in the same world with boardgame movement & random chance wheels.
Is that this guy?

I used my favorite miniatures game, gone made tiles and cards to randomly generate the world and 4xrpg. Pretty fun.
There are also some really good solitary board games.
