Going by the Demon STG, the God-Machine is probably roughly on par with the Exarchs. It doesn't answer to them, but the Seers have a habit of doing things that work towards G-M goals, so either there's an alliance or the G-M just likes to manipulate Seers into doing stuff for him.
>>
>>46528230
>implying
>>
Demons don't count do they? They're not really human so their sexuality is really just another aspect of their cover. Then again, they can cater to any fetish and look like they enjoy it.
>>

>>46528301
They aren't really human, but a Demon can still have preferences. The books explicitly talk about Demons identifying as the gender their initial cover was, iirc, and that probably includes sexuality as well.
>>
>>46528438
It was a guy. To be honest it was more me just noticing a rule loophole and then telling them about it

The G-M probably just manipulates and, being mages, they're too up their own ass to realize they're being used.

If you could manipulate the Seers, wouldn't you? Besides, that's what they want, to be controlled and directed, because they are too stupid to do things on their own.

>>46528337
Mage was the first game my group played in WoD and now none of us are really interested in it. Werewolf was the most fun for us, and at least one player hates basically every other splat, so doing anything else is difficult - but Hunter game is slowly starting. Gay hunters hunting gay monsters (probably).

>>46528248

>>
>>46529259

I'm not entirely sure how that ties into any kind of metaplot, even assuming God-Machine stuff.
>>
>>46529387
To be honest, Purified and Possessed deserve more than Merit based minor templates. They need a book that makes them into major templates but without all the fluff of a full gameline book.
>>
>>46529387
I still approve. Also I'm both of the first 2 people you replied to.

You just reminded me that my Demon game is completely lacking in gay characters right now.
Granted, that's because I'm trying to keep a 50/50 split between genders for the NPCs, and my players gave themselves a lot of male NPCs, so I've had to do a lot of female NPC creation.
Also granted, there hasn't really been much focus on the NPCs at all, for any of the characters I've still got as PCs, and only one of them has more than 1 NPC tied to them at all, so I guess that's fair.

Well, it's more like one gay hunter in a game with an ST who knows that I will follow literally any potential romance plot thread dangled in front of me. And collectively, the party has a terrible track record of dating villains or getting their romantic interests dead/soulless. I'm personally hoping that my character's ex shows up as a stalker or suspect in a major case to kill so many birds with one stone.

>>46529491
I wish the devs would do intermediary templates like that. The actual vestment style powers in Infernal are such a cool concept and Purified has so much to work with in regards to Numina.

>>46529530
Personally when I run games, I do the Pathfinder ambiguous sexuality thing for any character who isn't already hitched. If the gender ratio is reasonably close, that's all that really matters. Then you can assign sexualities on the fly if it ever becomes pressingly relevant.
>>
>>46529742
Give your GM a copy of Promethean/Mortal Remains and tell him to make you a boyfriend.

>>
>>46527511
Here's the metaphor I used for my players -

Take the Matrix analogy: the world and everything in it is a complex computer simulation.

The God-Machine is a subsystem of this simulation, made up of many smaller processes. These processes have "Admin Privileges" - the simulation has lots of backdoors and usefu tools already coded into it that the God-Machine's various processes (angels, infrastructure, etc) can use to do their job - covers, Embeds, etc. Demons are rogue processes that have lost their Admin privileges, but still know how to access some of these tools- and can use the backdoors they know to "hack" in ways that they couldn't just using a script (exploits). But they're all still a part of the simulation itself, they aren't RUNNING the simulation. That's the Supernal.

In contrast, Mages have Root Access to the code itself and write scripts (spells) to directly modify the code that the simulation runs on (the Supernal). It's not an exact metaphor, obviously, but it works.
>>
>>46529742
>Personally when I run games, I do the Pathfinder ambiguous sexuality thing for any character who isn't already hitched. If the gender ratio is reasonably close, that's all that really matters. Then you can assign sexualities on the fly if it ever becomes pressingly relevant.
Same, desu. I just haven't really given much attention to any of the NPCs that are actually related to the current characters, since they're making so little effort to do anything connected to their Covers.
They'll pay for it next session, I'm sure, since I plan to start it off with an ambush from a Rank 2 Angel who's chasing after one of them due to the Hunted condition.
Eh, a little too buff for my tastes.
>>
>>46529827
>That's the Supernal.

>Inb4 someone calls this proof of Mage Supremacy

In 2e at least, the Supernal is less the Code the simulation runs on, more another, less complex simulation running on the same code, using the same machine, with dev comments that Mage Sight lets you see, so you know how things work.

Oh no, he knows what to do. We've been playing games together for like seven, eight years now. He doesn't need any help crafting the perfect husbando and then dragging unresolved sexual tension out for literal in game years. That said, character backstory is open enough that the ex could easily have gone supernatural of some sort, contributing to the sudden marriage collapse. It's all in the ST's hands.

>>46529843
With my other group, it's fun to sort of shotgun a bunch of NPCs at the party and see which ones stick. I've been in games where entire shipping webs have been drawn up because the players got OOC too invested in creating everybody's happy ending. Shame this is WoD, so if anyone ends up happy, no one else is likely to.
>>
>>46529918
I'm doing the same thing, more or less. Introduced an Angel 2 sessions ago that nearly killed one of the PCs for following him into an alley(thought he was just a bum, so he let him go). Last session, the same Angel used a disguise to get the help of one of the PCs in finding another NPC that she previously dealt with.
And then the PCs met up for the first time; yeah, I'm the guy who went 5 sessions before the PCs met each other.

Too hairy for me. Otherwise, good.

A book that's basically Second Sight 2 would be neat. A Dark Eras style affair that has long chapters devoted to new templates that are more than just a few merits, but not quite full game line shit. It would really make some of the minor templates more worthwhile.
Also, it would mean that Purified and Possessed didn't have such dumb mechanics.

Finally put out the call for Mage: the Ascension players. Any advice for a new Ascension ST? Been playing/GM-ing for about 6 years now, but from what I understand Ascension is a very different beast. Been re-reading the M20 book to brush up on it and watching some games on Youtube as well.
>>
>>46532984
Depends on a variety of factors.
>>
>>46532984
>How often do you award beats per session?
It depends on the group; the expected average is 5 per session.
>How much time does a session cover?
It depends on the group. I've heard of anywhere from 2 to 12 hours.
>What have STs done regarding beats/experience that you enjoyed or hated?
I had an ST once who gave the same amount of XP every session, with no regard for what happened or didn't happen. Made doing anything feel kinda pointless, since were gonna get the same amount of xp at the end of the session, anyways.

>negatives of silver weapons

I don't believe potential downsides to silver weapons has yet been addressed in CofD / nWoD second editions (there's been so few books).

The issues with silver weapons (and other materials) were discussed in the new WOD 1e book Armory, p.19-20, 88. Although it's now is up to ST discretion, I would still follow the guidelines from Armory.

Here's Armory:

A lot of fans of the WOD and CofD are gayer than pink suede, although the posting of homoerotic pics has certainly increased of late.

I view the issue as a simple trade-off. I'll take the gay werewolf discussion over the pronoun arguments.
>>
>>46535946

Haven't encountered on in a game, but I threw a low-cover one into a mortals game as a neutral NPC. Upon witnessing a few glitches, their first instinct was to wait for the NPC who had been largely uninvolved with them and was, if anything, helpful as she was the only one around with medical training to go to bed, then murder her.
They weren't even going murderhobo. I think the it just caught them off guard.

As a non mummy player trawling books casually: I've seen a lot of references to mortals. You've got Sybaris, sure, and their cult, but they can also bind relics and specialised in iremite magic with occult? Is that the extent of it, or does that iremite magic take things a step further?

Sounds like your huntsman is less finesse more power. If they keep changing, it means they're probing for a weakness. So give them one, make a "fake" weakness in your defenses for them to take advantage of and strike a blow, if you can get rid of them for a while you can start hiding.

But if a fetish is your thing, have you thought about just setting yourself on fire while you masturbate? It's a lot more entertaining than the sticky brown gospel I squirted out for the Idigam Chronicle.
>>
>>46543342
Actually, I think you'd be mostly fine with a 3-dot Influence (Fire) fetish. It'd still require the activation roll/Essence cost but Control Fire should let you ward flame off yourself.

I'd need to dig into the fine details with a book in front of me but I *think* that'd do the trick.
>>
>>46543226
We're up to doing the Page XXes. Fortunately, I have a list.

Yes, your Familiar remains your Familiar even if it uses another Manifestation effect, including Claim, but Familiars have a hard cap of Rank 2 Making the entity Rank 3 through magic destroys the Familiar bond.

Claim requires the entity to also have Fetter and Possess - a Rank 2 spirit doesn't actually have enough Manifestation slots to Claim someone, unless it starts dropping Numina.

Rose did MMA, though that was probably when she was Russel.

>>
>>46533218
M20 has a lot of shitty mechanics.

More so than normal for a Mage book. Like they changed a lot because they tried to make the rules compatible with Mage 2e and it didn't work at all. I'd recommend using M20 as a guide line and to use Mage Revised instead for spellcasting rules. It will save you a lot of heartache.

A fucking lot. This is coming from a devote MtAs player too.
>>
>>46543366
Nah, I don't care about mage until 2e is out.

>>46543394
Alright, thanks for the answer Shin-Chris! Trying to build a 'relic' for a mystery cult an I figure the power will be that the holder of the fetish/relic makes a person immune flames since the spirit inside it was the cause of the Yellowstone fire. Hopefully none of the unclaimed/Urged cultists try to use it when things go tits up.

I just had strange idea for a bloodline of Vamps that can only feed from people who are completely and totally drunk, with the added bonus that they suffer penalties to whatever skills they have if they go for more than BP hours without feeding on someone. Also they have alcohol manipulation as a bloodline Discipline.
>>
>>46543552
Mage the Ascension 2e is a shitty fucking edition that doesn't work well with glorious Revised edition of Mage.
>>
>>46543437
Cool so we will have mage soon.

And I'm glad that a claimed familiar is still your familiar. I did know that a Rank 2 familiar would not have enough manifestation on its own I was planning on using magic to get that along.
But i didn't realize you can drop numina for more manifestations thate actually really helpful...

Wait don't claimed lose numina? So if you give up numina to get claim, and then claim someone wouldn't that mean that the familiar no longer qualify to use claim? Or would that not matter sence that numina slot was already given away?

Fuck im confusing myself.
>>
>>46543559
That's -kinda- a bloodline already, The Anvari from Bloodlines: The hidden, p20.
>>
>>46543621

I'm pretty sure Familiar is already a 2e merit. Making a second merit to take another familiar would be redundant; just take the merit a second time.

So when a rank 6+ spirit uses the numina that duplicate Imperial Practices, are they actually altering the Supernal? Or just the fallen world? Like, if Luna wanted to alter the werewolf template. Is she the supernal sponsor of the werewolves, or is there something else up there preventing them from being altered?
>>
>>46543925
Expect normally you can take merits multiple times. If you can prove me wrong I'm happier for it.

Or, any spirit, to take away from Luna. Any rank 6+ spirit that goes to do something with Imperial duplicating numina.
>>
>>46543939
They alter the fallen world. But that it turns alters the Supernal, ite like a reflection of sort they have to match.

>>

Nope. The Supernal symbolizes the Fallen world. It would be useless as a symbol if it didn't change to match the thing it's symbolizing. It's just that changing the symbols ALSO changes the thing they symbolize, thus Mage magic.
>>

GENDER AND
PREGNANCY
Gender is fluid and gender expression does not
always relate to reproductive capability in the real
world. For the supernatural creatures of the World
of Darkness this is even more true. When discussing
creatures like Wolf-Blooded and werewolves with
powers like Luna’s Embrace, gender should have no
bearing on whether or not a character can become
pregnant. The only thing that should stop a male
character’s pregnancy should be a player who
doesn’t want to tell that story.

Skimming it, it seems like a neat concept. But a neat concept lives or dies on it's purpose.

>>46544906
Doesn't seem like Beast at all. Seems like Scion. But much like Beast, a concept lives or dies on it's purpose. A game about farming your religion is about as meaningful as a game about feeding your Satiety.

Regardless, the template seems solid, though I'm not sold on Numinous Form or the Eternal Flesh (after all, *Gods* are rarely slain by mortal weapons, but these are *Demi*gods).

Faith as something that wells up is an interesting concept. Especially when Faith doesn't have to be people worshiping you specifically. Though there doesn't really seem to be much in the way of rules for when conflicting Faith harms you.

Still, after watching a video game reviewer talk about repairing shitty one paycheck cars and cap it off by getting on his knees and praying to the car to invoke it's spirit to keep driving one more week, faith in something mundane powering something magic is a neat idea.

Not sure if I like Attachment, either, but it's workable. A bit close to Harmony, though.

I'm going to completely skip the powers.

The Antagonists also seem pointless. Gigantes could have been better if they were broken Empyrean, like flawed apotheosis. Divine, but in a crippled and terrible way, unable to hide their monstrosity.

The Drasil isn't really cutely named, and it doesn't... do anything. It seems needless and tacked on.

So basically:
>Neat idea
>Okay template
>No purpose
Verdict:
>Why should I play?

You could of just said "no," the Underworld Ocean will almost certainly remain a CofD secret for the foreseeable future.

On the subject of M20, one mechanic in particular always confounds me in that game, and that's the whole giving up instruments at higher Arete ratings.
I've looked around for this a lot, and I've never been able to find out why you would even want to do it. There's no rules for the process beyond just shedding an instrument every time your Arete increases beyond 3, and that you "become the focus" at Arete 9. I take that as you not gaining any penalties for not using an instrument, but it never really says as far as I can tell.
The only thing I could find is that you can get rid of the penalty from losing an unique instrument by shedding it.
But other than that, it seems that having less instruments available would be a negative rather than a boon, so what's the deal? Can anyone tell me?
>>
>>46545753
Well, it could turn up in a book earlier than that if someone is writing for another gameline and decides to make reference to it.

As for your next question, I think I gave an answer on that a coupla threads ago, but the short answer is no, there's not really any chance I'll be developer for a theoretical Geist 2e. I'd be very interested in writing for it if it happens, though.

So, I'm gonna be the voice of dissense here and say that The Sundered World was just meh for me.

Part of it I guess is that it's a crossover setting, and such it's something that I would never use, because while I do use resources of one line in another (Predators for 1e WtF was essentially the Spirit World sourcebook for Mage games, and I still consider it one of the best offerings of 1e Forsaken) I have never, nor intend to in the future, made games were the assumptions of more then 1 gameline were true. This also saddens me, as Forsaken and Awakening are my 2 favourite ChoD gamelines.

OTOH I still love To the Strongest to bits, and while The Wolf and The Raven, although shared with Geist (for which I have no love), was pretty interesting in it's details.

Just my 2 cents.

Don't the fans of all gamelines generally feel this way? Isn't the support of Kickstarter precisely the reason why games like Demon, Mummy and even Beast received so much extra material?

>Has the guy actually complained about being "completely ignored"

The poster seemed more legitimately sad or disappointed than angry or disgusted, and his posts were polite and certainly not aggressive or disparaging of Rich or OPP. He even questioned whether he was making too much of a fuss.

Heck, if I paid $1000 for specific additional material and all I got were some encounter tables, I wouldn't be nearly as nice or accommodating.
>>
>>46548821
the only one i can recall in recent memory was the guy in that one campaign who was opening portals to the bottom of the marianas trench to murder people and even they were just recalling their antics, not going "wow mage is the best ttrpg i've ever played, my dick is rock hard at all this POWER"
>>
>>46548807
>>46548880

I think one of the problems is that Kickstarter only allows a company to have one Kickstarter at a time.

It would be great if OPP were two or more distinct yet related companies, with one responsible for classic WOD and the other CofD (and maybe a third company or subsidiary for in-house stuff like Aeon, Scion, Pugmire, Cavaliers of Mars, etc.).

Such a suggestion might require a little more full-time manpower, but a higher volume and more consistent stream of published books would hopefully be able to both cover the costs and realize additional profit.

>>46548746

If Mage had a Kickstarter, there probably would have been fewer delays. Recall that Rich mentioned that Kickstarter projects, where people already pledged money, always had priority. It's the reason why Dark Eras was ahead of Mage in the layous queue.
>>
>>46548753

>"aspelposting" is the free space.
>Not "Someone posts 'World of Fagness'"
>>
>>46549006

I don't think it would have had fewer delays as much as it wouldn't have the delays it had in exchange for some brand new ones. Crowdfunding's here to stay, but it's not a magic bullet and I'd rather not see OPP get more dependent on it and instead would see a greater push to return to retail (which is already happening, so that's nice).

Your forgot about all things related to worship at the alter of the Exalted High Church of DaveB.

On /wodg/, the Word of Dave is Law, the Word of Dave is Wisdom, the Word Dave is Glory, and we here are but his lowly disciples.
>>
>>46549082

Although I have nothing against retail returning as a viable business model for TTRPG's, I believe those days are long gone and unlikely to return.

OPP really hasn't used Kickstarter as a necessary means to publish basic games, but rather Kickstarter appears to be the only practical venue for products like deluxe editions or smaller niche expansions. Since games like Mage have a very established and eager fanbase, I believe people would have been eager to pledge for such products, resulting in more material for us and more profit for Rich, OPP and Paradox.

>>

Just go to the 'Dark Era gripes' thread on the OPP board. His post is the third one or so, and from there is just gets worse and worse.
>>
>>46549228

How much profit actually comes from a KS? From the way Rich tells it, they're almost always barely break even.
>>
>>46549345
Kikestarter shaves off about 20% from the top, then you gotta factor in the abysmal costs that go into production and shipping when you're a niche publisher.
>>
>>46549257

Is it really whining when you throw in 1000 dollary doos and you don't get the thing you specifically requested, especially when other people who do the same specifically get what they requested? It's not like OPP's Gareth Michael Skarka, who claims that a KS isn't funding the product but the process. Keep in mind I'm actually someone who really likes the new content in Ruins of Empire, even if it's a really weird choice. Even so, a reward's a reward.
>>
>>46549345

I honestly have no idea about how much revenue or profit is generated with the RPG books, Kickstarter or otherwise. I doubt Rich is about to buy a yacht or plane.

However, given the demands of time, energy and stress of the Kickstarters, if RIch is barely breaking even, he's doing things wrong and needs to adjust or plan better.
>>
>>46549391
There were a lot of caveats involved with how much editorial control he got with his suggestions, and I'm guessing if they went back and looked at the fine print you'd find that OPP was well within its rights not to take his shitty ideas further. The content was what he paid for, and to be part of the process of deciding what it was, not to dictate directly what was written.
>>
>>46549391
I find it funny that it basically turns Cleopatra Mummy into a stealth antagonist book for Mummy. Given that it has that in it along with Sekhem Sorcerers now.
>>
>>46549432

Possibly, but there's a wide gulf between what the backer suggested and the extra encounter tables in the final book.

More importantly, if OPP ignores the backers of these extra tiers or fails to communicate and negotiate with them about what material will ultimately be included, the result will be that people will be very reluctant to back these tiers in future Kickstarters. OPP might have been legally right, but it was definitely a poor business decision.
>>
>>46549432

They're certainly within their rights to not be down for what he wanted to do, but why not just tell him before the book gets written, and try to work out something else? Why are his ideas, which seems to be "I'd like some antagonists in this setting" from what I can tell, so shitty?
>>

>I was hesitant to do this, having shared it with one other person in the...erm...fallout, but I do intend on inquiring Rich about this. I don't want to just whine on the forums, but I did hold off on a new Mummy campaign for well over a year expecting this chapter to be, well, amazing, and I did spend more money on it than certain musical instruments I own.

>Side note: I think I'm bad at gauging word-count, slightly embarassed.

>I also spoke with CAS personally about integrating more WWI information and possibly even details of Palestine in the Era, all of which could've, I think, easily been integrated into the antagonist-oriented pitch:

I'm not seeing what's so terrible.

Forgive us if we don't believe you, but if you did, why just random encounter tables instead of this?
>>
>>46549708
>why just random encounter tables instead of this?
It tread too close to something they wanted to do with Mummy in an actual supplement, rather than additional material to a Dark Era which was supposed to be about fleshing out and making that particular setting more interesting.

I want to bind Gods to my will, how many dots in Spirit do I need?
>>
>>46551551
you need life+spirit to even attempt to bind pangeans. against "regular" Shadow gods you're probably going to need 5/5 dots & heaps of luck.
>>
>>46551551
>>46551701
Depends, do you want it to be impossible for them to obey you, or do you want them to be forced to obey you?
The former is gonna require Spirit 4, to give them a new Ban that forces them to obey you.
The latter will take Fate 2, too, I think, with a conditional trigger of "Disobeying me", and your choice on the 3-5 spirit dots for bashing/lethal/agg when they disobey you.

Good luck actually affecting them, though, assuming you mean Rank 6+ Spirits.

>>

>>
>>46552078
No, they've just said spirits over rank 5 can cast imperial spells and have functionally unlimited power
>>
>>46552118
>>46552144

Spirits above Rank 6 do not cast Imperial spells. They have Influences and abilities that *mimic* the effects of the Imperial Arcana within the spirit's spheres of influence.

Pangaeans. however, do have Arcana, one dot per Rank. No information was given in The Sundered World on whether Pangaeans can access Imperial Practices.

In any event, except for the most powerful of Archmasters and other god-like beings, Luna, a Rank 8 spirit, will curb stomp any challenger.
>>
>>46552418

Or, you know, just have a dice pool of 30. Nothing survives a dice pool of 30.
>>
>>46551885
you overestimate what i was saying. I was saying that they could *try* once they maxed out several arcana. I didn't say they were going to succeed or even get close enough to Luna to try before getting slapped down for their hubris.
>>
>>46552465
Actually, plenty of things do. Had a pleasure to play with a boxer, who did about 25 dices of dmg per turn; usually did like 5 bashes or so. Given, 5 aggravated can be a bitch, but won't kill you outright.
>>
>>46552465
Even if you got 30 successes you couldn't kill a werewolf in gauru with a dicepool of 30 for bashing damage.

I think he was more talking about how if you get an exceptional success you can ignore someone's ability to resist your spells.

http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/news/regions/asia-pacific/india/140430/how-the-philippines-crushing-the-indian-call-center-
Fun fact: India's been losing callcenters to the Philippines rapidly. Largely because it's the largest American English speaking country other than the US and Filipinos don't have an accent that makes understanding them difficult. I had to use a callcenter recently and it was actually useful since I got routed to the Philippines. So you can still bash India about callcenters, but now just to laugh at them because they basically lost them all and are losing a ton of money.

http://www.planetcustodian.com/2015/10/03/7873/indian-villagers-worshiping-newly-built-toilets-instead-of-using-them.html
This is a legitimately interesting article. Living in a... I guess second world country must be really weird. There's all this stuff that you and all your family have been believing for hundreds of years, but then you've got all this modern high tech shit and science and people telling you that everything you're doing is wrong and stupid and you don't want to believe them because you're a poorly educated member of a lower class.

I mean, it's not entirely unusual, and even in America you have places that are slightly more advanced, but still have that sort of sensibility. I mean, in many places, like Mississippi, it's actually legal to teach whatever factually inaccurate bullshit you can, and teachers are even discouraged from teaching that the Confederacy was mostly about... well, racism. It's under that kind of context that it starts to make sense that people defend the Confederate flag and all that.

But especially in these urbanized and westernized countries in otherwise third world areas, it's really interesting. I mean, India is in many ways a pretty advanced and Western country, but it's also a place where people shit on buildings because they've been taught that's more hygenic, and there are people who wear modern cotton-poly blend shirts but who've never even seen a computer. Even tech-Mecca Japan has places outside the cities that are stunningly rural and archaic in ways you rarely see in the rural US or England. And the further from Western influence you get, the wider that divide gets. Other places in Asia are worse, and in the Middle East you can get modern industrialized cities a few dozen kilometers from goat herders wearing homemade clothing.

Globalization is a fascinating subject--and one that is the embodiment of a double edged sword.

>>46555336
To bring it back to World of Darkness, I wonder what the Spirit--or even Astral--is like in these places. We get a bit of a look at that kind of thing in Basrah, but instead of being used to look at how Globalization is effecting the Shadow ecology of a country like that, well, Basrah is *super* unique. It's a great setting and the plot hook is a really good one, but it's not quite rural Indians inaugurating a toilet seat with ritual and ceremony because that's what you do with new things, while also not using them because they culturally believe that shitting outdoors is better for you because there's no education on how plumbing works. (And the whole situation kind of reminds me of "miasma theory", and the reluctance to accept that not washing your hands when going from autopsy room to delivery room).

>>46555407
Really if there's one thing the country needs, it's education standards. But the religious Right cries foul on anything that would threaten their hegemony. "Religious Freedom" has joined "State's Rights" as the dog whistle of a new age as suddenly it's considered religious freedom to discriminate and harass others for *their* religious freedoms.

And yet if Muslims or gays were using those same laws to exercise their "religious freedom" and discriminate against the Christian majority, they'd get up in arms. Or, of course, if the LeVayan Satanists wanted pamphlets of Satanism distributed alongside pamphlets on Christianity.
