Let's make a Titan legion
https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Titan_Legion_Creation_Tables

What is the Mainstay Engine of the Titan Legio? (1d100)
>>
>>44606182
I'll play your sadistic little game, Anon.
>>
>>44606219
Wow, I finally made that mistake.

A first!
>>
>>44606182
I´ve got a 25...

So a Warhound or a Warlord Pattern?
>>
Rolled 81 (1d100)

>>44606270
Not like that.

Like this!
>>
>>44606310
So we put the Rolls in bold?

Sorry, still new here.
>>
>>44606355
No, there's a rolling engine on /tg/, my good newfag. Controls to operating it are in the Sticky.
>>
>>44606396
dice+1d100

Like that? Or do I have to write the Roll in Options?
>>
>>44606455

Options field new fag. Options field.
>>
Rolled 90 (1d100)

>>44606509
Aye, Sir.
>>
I rolled up a Legion not to long ago

Our thing was we didn't worry to much about civilian casualties
And our lead Engine was a Warlord Titan that dated back to the days that of the Emperor, and that the Machine Spirit remembered the Emperors fury.
>>
Rolled 85 (1d100)

>>
>>44608691
You did it. Now continue rolling.
>>
Now that our newinitiates figured out how to roll, let's get this legion started.

Roll 1d100 - what class of titan is most of our legion composed of?
>>
Rolled 34 (1d100)

>>44609924
initiate the canticles of probability!

Warhound pattern. Fast and lethal.

Now, what about our Lead Machine? 1d100 for the pattern of our Lead Titan.

Reaver Pattern. Frontline fighter, that still has some speed left to maneuver.

Now, what deeds can this machine boast? 1d100 for the First MAchine's deed of legend.

So basically we have a legion of scout titans led by a light titan.

Welp.
>>
>>44610367
we're fucked right Magos?
>>
>>44610438
We're fine. See, >>44610367 - This Engine is a stalwart enemy of the servants of Chaos, and laid low a Daemonically Possessed Titan of one of the Traitor Titan Legios in glory.

They may bring bigger guns, but the bigger they are the harder they fall.

Now, more on the origins of the legio. Roll 1d100 for Legio homeworld.
>>
Rolled 83 (1d100)

>>44610500
come on, airless irradiated hellscape!

>>
>>44610438
Could be a hunting pack type deal. Long missions across extended fronts with minimal resupply.
The faster engines let us catch foes by surprise. Very much a wolf pack mentality.
>>
>>44610500
>>
>>44610530
Arsenal World - The wars of the Imperium require vasts amounts of materiel, and it is the Arsenal Worlds which produce them. These forges are key and critical parts of the Munitorum's vast logistics chain, supplying everything from engine grease to bolter shells to Vortex torpedoes. With such massive foundries at their command, the Titan Legio is never at a loss for fresh ammunition.

With this we can always fight at maximum efficiency. Now, roll 1d10 for Legio age. How long is our history.
>>
>>44610537
That could work, i've always preferred warhounds over the larger, slower titans.
>>
Rolled 99 (1d100)

The Sanction of Vandire - Declaring its independence from the corrupt and mad rule of Goge Vandire, the Adeptus Mechanicus rearmed its defenses.

We were found in a difficult time, and stood strong since then. Or did we? Roll 1d10 for the strength of the legio.
>>
Rolled 2 (1d10)

>>
Rolled 1 (1d2)

>>44610720
Well, 2 is Decimated and 9 is full strength.

I do want to go with 9, for which we have 2 rolls, but 2 was first.

Let the die decide. 1 is Decimated, 2 is Full force.
>>
>>44610786
The probability has spoken.

Decimated - Defeat has dogged the Legio, exacting a terrible toll in engines and crews. It has been decimated, reduced to a shadow of its former self.

Some battles you win, and in some battles battles you are won over.

Now, let's get into details of our history. Roll 1d10 for Deeds of Note of the Legio.
>>
Rolled 2 (1d10)

>>44610818
>>
>>44610828
Unending War - The long war continues unabated, despite the firepower of your god-machines. The forces of the enemy, led by an uncharacteristically brilliant warlord, continue to grind down the forces of the Imperium.

Looks like for us there is only war. But where there is war, there are trophies. Roll 1d10 for the Trophies of the legio.
>>
Rolled 10 (1d10)

>>44610919
Well at least it makes sense for a decimated legion
>>
Rolled 10 (1d10)

>>44610919
>>
>>44610940
Blessing of the Emperor - Your Legio has fought closely alongside the Astarte of the God-Emperor in the forefront of battle, turning the tide in their favour and carrying the day to victory.

When most aremies of the Imperium get in trouble, the call for Space Marines. But when Space Marines get into trouble, they call for us.

Still, we do not always win as our numbers can attest. Roll 1d10 for legio's failure.
>>
Rolled 10 (1d10)

>>44610967
>>
10's all around.
>>44610982
Lost Legacy - At some point in its past, the Legio suffered irreplaceable losses of experienced crew and ancient Titans. This lost legacy of heroism, bravery, and knowledge can never be recovered.

This is probably where we lost the majority of our legio. Looks like our First Machine had managed to survive, but it's closest companions did not.

Let's find out about our traditions. Roll 1d15 for legio's 'quirk'.
>>
Rolled 5 (1d10)

Rolled 14 (1d15)

Throw Down - Legio has deep seated grudge against a particular body or individual within the Imperium.

Interesting. Let's see if further rolls contribute to this, but meanwhile post your ideas, whom we may have a grudge with.

Also, time to see into our relations. Roll 1d15 for legio's allies.

Now, 1d10 for enemies.
>>
>>44611204
Obviously we schismed at some point due to our "heretical" insistence on fielding more small titans to quickly replace our constant losses in the long war against the Great Enemy, as opposed to the Vanity projects of other Legions that insist on Bigger is Better like some sort of filthy Greenskin.

Everyone knows that miniaturization is the path closer to the Omnissiah. Others may build larger works, but ours are greater.

>>
>>44611431
I'll go with this one.
Inexorable Advance - Move and fire, a moving bulwark of high firepower.

It goes well with our legio's composition of primary scout titans and with this anon's >>44610537 neatly saying what I had on my mind.

Summary coming in.
>>
>>44611573
So, this is how I see it.

We're a reasonably venerated established titan legio, composed mostly of fast and comparatively light machines. We build our tactics around this mobility, moving and striking at the same time, commiting hit-and-run attacks or quickly breaking into enemy lines at vulnerable places and targeting their rears before they can react.

Our recent history is that of constant wars with no rest or space between them, the lattest one is a protracted campaign against the forces of Chaos. We have cordial relationships with a certain Navy flotilla that escorts legio's ships and provide orbital support, our home forge-world probably provides them with enough ammunition and supplies to make them willing to follow us into the Eye of Terror.

We have deeds to be proud of in this campaign, like when we managed to break out Space Marine forces caught in a trap by a renegade guard regiment, or when our Lead Machine took down a much heavier Chaos Titan that was possessed by a daemon. But constant war with little chance to restore our losses, confounded by our risky battle strategy took heavy toll on our numbers, especially after one sortie we lost the oldes and most venerable machines that made up the core of the Legio.

Post suggestion for the Legio's name, as well the name of the First Machine and the name of the Astartes chapter that we put out of fire. AS for the name, seeing how we're mostly warhounds, I thought of Legio Cerberus. Is this one vacant?
>>
>>44611836
If we are the Legio Cerberus our leading Machine could be the last surviving one of a trio of Reavers that used to be the spearhead of our Assaults but the other two where lost.
>>
>>44611836
Legio Traditionalus
Invictus Ferrus
Star Lords
>>
>>44611836
How about a greek Name associated with the Underworld for the First Machine?

Since the Legios Title is Cerberus, I think it would be fitting.
>>
>>44612060
How about the Reaver being named Barghest which is a name for a hellhound
>>
>>44612111
That Name sounds good. Should we ask the Arch-Magos?
>>
>>44612217
i thought we where doing that already.
>>
>>44612060
Barghest is fine suggestion. As an alternative, we also have Orthrus - two-headed cousin to greek Cerberus. What do you think of that?

>>44611987
Are these the guys from Chapter Quest? /tg/ chapter to feature in the story of a /tg/ legio, seems fitting.
>>
>>44612282
Sounds good too me.

But as the resident Newbie, I thought I would leave the actual Decision to my Seniors.
>>
>>44611836
This also makes sense with our high rate of attrition. Quicker to pump out smaller Titans than taking longer for larger ones.
>>
>>44612384
More like nobody trusts us with actually valuable titans anymore.
>>
>>44612282
As i suggested above we could have had three Reavers leading the Legio at one point but we lost the two oldest ones in a terrible defeat.
So we would have one remaining who would be the Barghest, Orthrus could be one of the lost two.
>>
>>44612425
Seems nice, let's do that.

So, Legio Cerberus had three "heads" -Barghest, Orthrus and... what's the third one?
>>
>>44612425
Should we Name the rhird One After another Dog then?
>>
>>44612460
Jesus how depleted are we that we only have one reaver?
>>
>>44612490
Both Orthrus and Barghest are some kind of hellhound from mythology so maybe we could keep the theme with a third supernatural dog.
>>
>>44612460
and that at our height we could only muster reavers as our largest engine. Legio hobous seems more fitting
>>
>>44612621
Fenrir?
>>
>>44612621
Garm. We have one name from greek mythology, one from english folklore stemming from celtic/gaelic mythology, so a name from a scandinavian myths seems fitting.

>>44612611
>Decimated - Defeat has dogged the Legio, exacting a terrible toll in engines and crews. It has been decimated, reduced to a shadow of its former self.

Be thankful that we didn't roll 1 on that roll, or we would have *nothing* but that one Reaver.
>>
>>44612659
Sounds like we Arena honoring the Space Wolves.

Maybe Gramm from the Same Myth?
>>
>>44612694
Garmr

Stupid Autocorrect.
>>
>>44612666
Maybe we had some Warlords before being decimated but just because they are bigger then Reavers doesn't mean that they have to lead.
>>
>>44612694
>>44612666
>>44612659

Let's go with Garm/Garmr, as it fits the theme of hell's watchdogs better, itself being one.

So, we have Legio Cerberus, a pack of Warhounds originally led by three "heads" Reavers - Barghest, Orthrus and Garm. After sustainign heavy losses, only Barghest is left alive.
>>
>>44612749
could we get a number count on our warhounds magos?
>>
>>44612749
Ohh i have an idea!
We where basically a Legio whose sole purpose was to guard our homeworld that was massively industrialized so titans bigger then a Reaver would have problems navigating the forge complexes or even be completely unable to move out of the places they fit in.
But the forces of chaos raided our homeworld, decimated our Legio and stole something of immense value so now we wage a constant campaign against the ruinous powers to reclaim what was stolen and avenge our fallen machines.
>>
>>44612878
Are you absolutely sure you want to know the answer to that question, adept? It may upset you.
>>
>>44612930

>>
>>44612950
>>44612991
>he can't even into autoquill
>>
Rolled 3, 2 + 1 = 6 (2d3 + 1)

>>44612950
As we know, Divisio Militaris of a Titan Legio typicaly counts circa 50 machines at fulls trength. After our losses. we have the result of a roll of machines.
>>
>>44613044
6 machines, that includes Barghest.
>>
>>44613020
I've had just about enough of your shit Moderati, i am a big boy PRINCEPS now, i tie my own shoe laces and everything!
>>
>>44613069
well, at least we don't take up too much transport space!
>>
>>44613069
So we are basically a strike force possibly supported by Skitarii and other Mechanicus assets that gets ferried around on a merry crusade against chaos by our Navy bros.
>>
>>44613069
i don't suppose we have any knight support do we?
>>
>>44613069
Would I be allowed to bring One into Battle, I wont destroy it the Time, I swear.
>>
>>44613140
Pretty much. A Titan Legio includes not just titans and crew with service personel, but some auxiliary foot troops.

And, you know, we're a scout force that costs 5250 points on tabletop. At the very minimum.
>>
>>44613190
Not regularly. I could see us being close allies with a certain Knight House if we rolled 6 on Allies die (as opposed to 5, which gave us Imperial Navy), but as things are we cooperate situationaly at best.

Speaking of, we're supposed to have a grudge against a certain imperial institution. I remember a suggestion of this being a rival titan legio, the one that specialises on huge and slow machines and a looks down on us because of our legio's specialty and composition.

We could go with this one, or we could have a certain knight house as the target of our grudge. Seeing how the role of titans that mostly compose our legio would closely overlap with that of a knight, we could often find us on the same battlefield as that house, pursuing the same general objectives. What started as a friendly competition to outdo each other would grow into heated rivalry until it resulted in a bitter grudge.
>>
>>44613485
i'm voting for those chodes of house krast
>>
Also, post names of the remaining titans in our legio. Anything goes. Attach 1d100 roll to your post, 5 posts with the highest rolls will accompany Barghest in battle.
>>
>>44613485
I rather like the idea of the traditional heavy-hitter legion looking down on us both literally and figuratively, ignoring the impressive results we achieved despite grievous losses.

Or we could roll for the rival legion.

Anyway.
Currently Legio Cerberus consists of 6 machines - Barghest as the First Engine, as well as Braxxus, Exemplar, Invictus Ferrus, Uninvited Guest and Batmanus.

No. No Brundlepenis for you. Should've joined a Traitor Legio with names like that.

Even after it's harsh losses Legio Cerberus strides on. And as if we don't have enough troubles from the other side of the barricade, there's these ingrates who are supposedly on our side... Who?
Give me 1d2. On 1, our grudge is against a rival legio. on 2, it's a knight's house. First roll wins.
