Just because they were matriarchal doesn't mean they're entirely ruled by females or that females were just handed positions of power. Most were just one female at the tippy top that had power and the rest of the power pyramid was male.

The same ways you'd make the female one magical realm would also make the male one as well. Such as power dynamic abuse for sexual favors, rape, physically overpowering, being physically stronger than spouse, etc. unless you purposefully go out of your way to touch any of these using any of the above examples YOU make it magical realm. Just play it straight and you won't hit the potholes.

Come up with descriptors and traits of what is masculine and what is feminine and use those to describe the males and females of that society without outright calling either "masculine" or "feminine."
So the women? Talk about how strong they look. Broad shoulders, broad chests, hard faces and hands from the intense labor or combat they would partake in.
For the men? If you've read the Song of Ice and Fire series, the descriptions of Varys work nice. Powdered and perfumed with a soft voice and soft, delicate hands.
As a DM it is imperative to only describe it as it is and offer zero judgement one way or another. That's for the players to decide.
Don't say "this is a peaceful society." This implies it is a utopia where it takes women's leadership to make everything better and it is and shall always be that way until outside forces like the party(who are likely mostly male) come along to fuck it up.
You could say, "this society is at peace." This implies that the society has worked to earn its peace through law and enforcement of that law or that it has soldiers who have won peace at a sword's point. But it also alludes to the ephemeral nature of said peace.
Or you could just make it you Amazon fem-dom fetish society. That always rustles the party's jimmies in a totally different way.

Most groups would infact since those are all serious red flags for that type of magic realm. You'd have to play it insanely detail deficient and brief to sneak it past.
