Hello everyone! I am posting this again because I am a terrible person. I apologize for any inconvenience. Ok so I've just finished reading through some of the Iron Gods stuff along with some Reign of Winter stuff.

The books seem to be structured as the following:
>Adventure
>Stated Towns
>NPCs
>Bestiary
>Items
>Lore Piece
>Fiction Piece

Or the general trend being something related to this. Along with some adventure paths having unique rules specific to that. Jade Regent with Caravan, Iron Gods with Technology, etc. I do not think my AP needs any custom rules except perhaps more detailed rules for cold environments, but honestly I don't think they are that important.

As for the Character Guide what they mainly seem to discuss is each Race's place in the AP, each Class's place, appropriate bloodlines/familiar/animal companions/favored terrain, where you came from to make it to this point, custom races/classes, and general tips. Mine my be a bit longer as it must explain a good deal of lore for the Steaming Sea. Custom races here would be the following, a elf/orc hybrid, a gnome/dwarf hybrid, human/elf/orc composit, a goblin/hobgoblin hybrid, and possibly a bugbear/hobgoblin hybrid. Essentially there would hybrids of those races who could interbreed.

Am I missing anything? I feel like I am getting less work done than I should, but christmas is eating up time

Reminder that the moment New Years' is over, you have the entire month of January and half of February of bleak, dreary winter before Valentines' day.

Why not just let the cold in and be done with it?

/pfg/, what's the best archetype for a spell-less Ranger? (inb4 "one that doesn't replace casting") My friend's joining our Jade Regent game, and he's looking to just do a simple archery ranger. DSP is allowed, but we're trying to keep things simple for now.

His concept is that he's a fur trader who's looking to start a trading company of his own, so we were looking towards Ranger to give him the outdoorsy aspects he wanted for concept. We were thinking Trapper, but I was just wondering if there was anything better. Between all the other options, I haven't actually looked at rangers since the first archetype that gave up casting, and was, if I remember, really bad.

>To get the thread back on the rails: Post best tits in Pathfinder.

Shelyn has, objectively, the best tits in Pathfinder since they're always the exact vision of the perfect boob to the one beholding it. Theoretically, a PC with the Touched by Divinity trait from WotR would have the best breasts in Pathfinder if their mother was Shelyn.

As for NPCs, it's a toss-up between Shayliss Vinder from RotRL (redhead with large perky tits), Serethet from Mummy's Mask (brown-girl with huge tits), and Arueshalae from Wrath of the Righteous (redeemed Succubus that ranges from very average to mega melons.)

Your impatience will be your downfall. You gotta learn to play the long game. When time itself is on your side, why go to the trouble of slaughtering populations? No - that just makes the forces of preservation work that much harder to hold back the tide.

Just let them see for themselves how pointless everything is - that's how you get a universe to fall. But they have to realize for themselves that it's going to happen no matter what they do.

Lack of context, thought he was a Paladin, and as mentioned, allying with fiends isn't particularly a bad idea, and allying with Devils is by far the best idea as you know they'll keep their word. Everyone knows even the good gods are willing to ally with Asmodeus.

In Shattered Star our party encountered a small group of devils and as the devils feared were rather weak we got a great deal from a position of leverage to recruit them into aiding us and the Society in investigating and studying the ruins, in exchange for not sending them all back by way of the sword. They have been extremely helpful months later still.

Obviously though if the PC was pushing this quite a bit further, then yea I could see the alignment shift, but as mentioned, allying with fiends can often be a great deal if it fulfills your goals.

It wasn't a bad idea, it was just the big wind that knocked over something on foundations he had chipped away.

He never fell all the way to evil, he did however truly embrace neutrality, often staying out of fights if he could see his opponent's point of view.

Also he didn't accept a contract or a promise from the devil, it offered "a show of its power" to entice him into possibly making such a deal. The result was deeper darkness followed by dragging away a series of hobgoblins presumably to hell. Whilst my character despised devils, i was literally going into the souldrinker prestige class so he certainly (privately) understood the motivations of the LN party member.

Hell, Studied Target and Sneak Attack emphasize the "one shot, one kill" attitude of a hunter far more than a Ranger's favored target.

>What IS the difference between a Ranger and a Hunter thematically aside from Favored Enemies

A Ranger is a shepherd of the forest, if Druids are Clerics of Nature than a Ranger is the Paladin.

A Hunter is just a normal fuck that acquires some nature magic by being really good at hunting.
>>
>>44367394
A ranger can't fall. They can use metal(which is bad for the environment for some reason?) and can give no fucks about nature.
>>
>>44367394
Hunters are more like the Warpriest of the nature classes. A more martially focused version of the Druid, but overall pointless and redundant due to thier Caster cousin being just as good if not better at thier job.
>>
>>44367430
Druid can use metal weapons fine though. It's only metal armor that they can't wear.

Iron is deadly to fey creatures, and whatever supernatural forces a druid get his power from. This weakness affects how they use their supernatural and magical abilities.

There is a difference in holding a piece of it in your hand, like a scimitar, and covering your body in it, like a breastplate.
>>
>>44367733
Tonfa are martial weapons.
Mainly because they can also be used for billy-clubs.

That's still pretty goddamn stupid.

Iron is apart of earth, so why are earth/cave druids restricted?

Fey creatures are only allergic to a specific type of iron(even though irl Cold Iron was just normal iron) because some retards thought DR was a good mechanic. And Fey have fuck all to do with Druids. They're just edgy midgets from some alternate dimension.

>What would the character build philosophy even be?

Build what you will, since it's almost impossible to fuck up. The guy's even giving us a feat every level.

>Are you guys fighting Gods

Yes, actually. The setting is Planescape, we start in Sigil, and the focus of the campaign is working top contracts for the powers of the Multiverse before eventually becoming a power yourself.

Only two others, and I don't know what they're building.

Yes, every stat starts at 10, and it's technically 33 PB with the 4-8-12 +1s.

We're also allowed to modify base classes up to 20 RP.

Okay, obviously you have two build options to go for.

Either 1 active class and two passive classes, or two active classes and one passive class.

This will depend on what you want your character to be a God of, and what his ideas and story will be.

My suggestion, pick 3 basic themes you plan on being your portfolio, and select 1 class for each portfolio theme.

Oh, and if you plan on being a Blacksmith God, you absolutely MUST choose Artisan as one of your classes.

If you're not deadset on a Paladin, Brawlers scale the damage close weapons.

In terms of feats you can't go wrong with Weapon Focus: Tonfa. If your going for Dex build, Weapon Finesse works because it's a light weapon. Power attack is also nice. If your going for the in-lore riot trooper, you should look into shield feats as well.

Stalker, but swap either Tempest Gale or Solar Wind for Black Seraph. You do not need two ranged disciplines.
Cleric, with Travel and Trickery as domains.

You will still need a third class to raise your BAB and HD. With strikes and stalker talents, you action economy will be too taxed for spellcasting during battle. It will also take too long to keep track of all your possible actions during battle.

You may as well take Myrmidon or some other Fighter archetype for the bonus feats, BAB, and HD. A Barbarian or Warder doesn't give you much more things your character would use.

Pic semi related.

Well hello everyone! It is midnight on christmas eve and I finally had time to ACTUALLY begin working on the character guide. I will be updating /pfg/ as sections are finished, then a final update when a workable draft has seen an initial edit.

The language section is now done as a conceptual draft. Take a look. I would love feedback, questions, ideas, or hate! I very much enjoy questions.

It ended up being longer than I originally thought. Next I will be writing on appropriate animal companions/familiars/bloodlines I think. Then brief overviews of the cultures of the Steaming Sea.

There's also the type of TN that always gets involved to force balance on everyone else, like Mordenkainen or the Harpers.

From the Living Greyhawk Gazeteer:

>"Mordenkainen the Archmage formed the Circle of Eight as a tool to manipulate political factions of the Flanaess, preserving the delicate balance of power in hopes of maintaining stability and sanity in the region. Mordenkainen's view of 'enforced neutrality' is not a tit-for-tat equality but rather a detailed theoretical philosophy derived from decades of arcane research. He has fought ardently for the forces of Good, most recently during the Greyhawk Wars, but just as often has worked on darker plots to achieve his ends."

I going to homebrew a very Gorum-centric Inquisitor or Warpriest archetype. I figure the core of it should be access to the rage domain or getting rage somehow, proficiency in heavy armor, a large bonus to intimidate, immunity to fear, and an armor-training ability like a fighters. Probably also get a bonus on when they get deific obedience abilities, and a "code" like a paladin.

Which of the two classes would be better to build an archetype like this on top of?

What base class are you using? If you're a wizard, sorcerer, or some other arcane class ask to rebuild into a save-or-suck necromancer. Arcane classes are better at that branch anyways.
>>
>>44372454
I built a proper minion-master Cleric.
It's just, you know... I can't ever have more than 5 HD worth of 1 HD skeletons.
I'm not allowed to go to a graveyard and raise some shit, it's got to be freshly slain creatures as a houserule. And all we fight are humanoids with class levels. So far one skeleton has actually survived 2 whole combats and actually slayed one enemy. I'm level 8. ajj lmau

So the gm has allowed you to do something, then throws a bunch of things at you to make that thing they allowed nearly impossible to achieve with anything near functionality?
Hey, anon, show the GM this message:
To anon's GM, seriously, stop it. What you are doing is forcing a GM v Player narrative in a hobby where YOU have all the power. You clearly know enough about the game to know necromancers can be powerful, but also neither trust anon to do right and moderate himself or have the finesse to deal with it without being a fucktard.
You have officially turned yourself into That GM, and are a discredit to GMs who Do It Right everywhere. What you should do, but won't because I will bet my last dollar you are too arrogant to see how you have been doing it wrong, is apologize to anon, and allow him to respectfully retire his character, as you clearly have no intentions of allowing the character to succeed, and allow anon to bring in a new character at no penalty. Maybe even learn something about what makes a game fun, and what makes it a chore.
We'll see.
Sincerely,
20 year GM Anon

>>
>>44372545
Shit, now that's a christmas present.
Thanks for that one, anon.
If it don't work out I'm just gonna drop the campaign. I got no business being pissed off this time of year.
>>
>>44372419
You don't seem to understand, this is why he said 'Yeah sure Necromancers are fine.' It's because he won't let you become an issue
>>
>>44372850
How come no one ever has ceaseless dispel mages and antimagic zones to prevent Wizards from becoming issues, then?
>>
>>44372850
What kind of issue can a necromancer really pose? Oh no, he's reusing the monsters the party defeats but they're worse in every way! Oh no, he's got save-or-not-actually-die spells! The hard cap on Undead HD already handles the whole thing to begin with and honestly I fully believe any iteration of a necromancer is always inferior to a properly built Summoner.
>>
>>44372870
There's a difference between someone killing hoards of the damned and attacking the spellcaster with archers, both are sound battle plans both to make the DM's life easier and in order to keep their squad from being greased, and saying 'lol the enemy you're up against is the mage's guild fuck you players.'
>>44372880
It's nevertheless a clusterfuck.
>>
>>44372884
It's only a clusterfuck if the player is a retard who can't plan his turns properly.
Undead have two fucking things they can do: move and attack.
If the player is so stupid he can't micromanage like 5 fighters alongside his character he shouldn't have played a necromancer.
A general rule of thumb for my games is that if you have more than one unit to control in battle your whole turn has to fit in under one minute. The one guy who keeps playing minion-based characters in my games usually gets his turn done in 30 seconds and has little notecards he jots his minion's stats onto.
>This moves here, that goes there, they both attack, these three charge this one, here's the rolls, the green dice are the charging ones, this ogre has to make a will save or fall asleep that's the end of my turn
If the player can't produce that kind of turn then he can't play that kind of class. There's no need to shit on him.
Imagine if you wanted to play, let's say, a Ninja and the GM cursed you with a fucking incorporeal tuba that followed you around and blasted music at all times and can't be dispelled with anything short of Wish. The character doesn't even fucking work. If you hate Ninjas or the guy can't play it right, have a talk with him and figure it out instead of destroying the character mechanically. Come on.
>>
>>44372948
An incorporeal tuba is a supernatural or magical phenomenon, shooting the wizard isn't.
>>
>>44372948
Necromancers only become problematic if you give them strong shit to raise.
Imagine for a moment a Necromancer with 45 hit dice worth of undead wolves that all auto-trip with their attacks because it's extraordinary and the undead versions get to keep it.
Who DOESN'T want their BBEG permanently tripped forever?

But the thing is, you can have an encounter right before that that seriously thins the problematic minions, and have him rebuild with ones that aren't as good, and the problem is solved.
>>
>>44372988
Most wizards basically delete ranged attacks from the game. For the enemy, I mean.
The necromancer is 60% undead and 40% save-or-suck spells.
If there just HAPPENS to ALWAYS be a paladin around every fucking corner clearing half the undead in one turn and there just HAPPENS to ALWAYS be a ranger that just HAPPENS to ALWAYS shoot the necromancer into negative health with three attacks, the necromancer might as well be a fucking commoner throwing rocks at the enemy.
>>
>>44372988
>A magical cursed tuba that follows the stealth guy around making stealth impossible for him
and
>Encounters that single out and shit on one specific party member over and over
have one thing in common:
They're both not fun for the player.
Oh shit, there's that word!
>Fun
Remember that one?
I'm sure you haven't forgotten that it's the most important fuckin' thing about this game and that having the game almost literally shit on your character at every given turn isn't actually fun at all!
>But anon, if I don't completely stomp the necromancer into the dirt every session, Chad's Fighter is going to feel weak!
It's not one player's fault that someone else is playing a shitty, badly optimized trashcan character, and you should fix the shit one instead of ruining the good one.
>>
>>44373047
>Shooting the wizard at range
>Singling out

Chad the retarded fighter and Oswald the the rogue with 17 int, 12 dex and 8 strength are fine content holding their own against the bandit with an arrow stuck in his head from that one time, grugg the orc who's too retarded to flank and the kobold whip fighter looking to make his warren proud.

Meanwhile there are two assholes in the back realizing "OH SHIT IT'S A GUNDAM." and firing crossbow bolts at it hoping it will die.
>>
>>44373087
Having a couple ranged guys shoot at the obvious leader of the skeletal horde is fine.
Having it happen literally every encounter, and to such an extent that it constantly gets him into negative health, is not.
And that's what the anon detailed.

The 3.5 factotum from Dungeonscape would be absolutely perfect for this. It's pretty close to "Indiana Jones, the class" with a ton of Int-focus.

http://dndtools.pw/classes/factotum/

I don't even think it would take any conversion for Pathfinder. Don't even have to adjust the skill list because the skill list is just "all of them."

The lack of 4x skill points at 1st will hurt the class somewhat (the class really wants 1 skill point in everything if it can, because it has class features that work if you've got at least 1 point in), but it won't ruin the class. The loss of Iaijutsu Focus and the gnomish quickrazor is a more serious loss, but meh.
>>
>>44373016
As a 9th level caster you should always be aware that you are second only to the GM in the ability to control the game.

Always assume that your GM wants to punish you for something and lay a trap to punish him back. Paladin always fucking your shit up? Prepare summon monster, magic missiles, greater invisibility, enervation and scorching rays for free paladin loot.
Does he find the fact that protection from arrows is somehow "wrong" and tries to counter it with enemies armed with magic arrows? Tough shit bitch, you also had obscuring mist/stinking cloud prepared and now the party gets to loot magic arrows for amazing profit. Dont forget to look him in the eye as he tries to weasel his way out of it by saying that the last magic arrows were conveniently used up shortly before the archers demise.
Obviously you also have to play intelligently and make it blatant that he's metagaming. If you're a necromancer then take great pains to hide your undead horde when they arent in use and always make sure that you have undetectable alignment handy in case he forces you to shift alignments.

If all else fails and he still continues to drop rocks on you and you specifically? Congratulations, a GM singling a player out is a sign of admitting defeat and you have already won the fight. Now go ahead and build an Occultist Arcanist with augmented summoning, superior summons and take evolve summon monster on the rest of your feats and show him whos boss.

Half elf bastard of human nobility, product of rape by elven lower class. Abused the status and position his mother afforded him to slaughter elves in a serial killer style, though he also practiced self mutilation to a certain extent and was covered in scars he claimed were from battles. It infuriated him that even with his ears cut up people could still tell he was half elf.

He had a fanatical loyalty to the house who raised him and despite being an NE fiend worshipper stood by our party's leader (a minor noble of the human kingdom) no matter what. He was determined to see his pledge crowned king and the land retaken from elves after the elvish slave class rebelled.

He was a TWF ranger going into the souldrinker prestige class to be able to inflict negative levels with two conductive weapons. He frequently quarreled with other party members and swore the death of all elves, but he never considered his private religious beliefs or their secrecy to be a betrayal of his good aligned party. He whispered prayers to the horsemen as he coup de graced foes, Szuriel most of all.
>>
>>44367372
>>44373483
Oh, also whenever he felt regret or pangs of conscience about the atrocities he committed he would blame it on his lowly elven blood.

The campaign sort of fell apart after a new player joined who the DM allowed to play an elf, despite all the existing party members being hardcore anti-elf racists. We basically had to give up on our elf genocide/reconquest plotline and turn it into dungeon crawling, which caused the game to fizzle out.

I'm still kinda pissed at that to be honest. It was like we were playing the KKK and the DM encouraged someone to play a black player without telling them about us or without telling us what he was going to do.
>>
>>44372850
There are ways to challenge a player without houserules designed to stymie their core intent, laser focus by enemies and "happenstance" that is a thinly veiled excuse to be a cunt.
If you are playing a class, than you should expect to be able to play the class to it's strengths as base. It's like saying that a fighter's weapons always break, or that the wizard has to constantly keep track of his components; all you have succeeded in doing is making the class not fun to play, not challenged the player.

>>
>>44374520
What do you want to do?
Bonus question: how would it work in a game with more than one player?
>>
>>44374629
I want to be able to stop time for extended periods and actually utilize the extra time I create for myself properly.
I'm imagining it like this:
>Standard combat
>My turn comes around
>Time stops
>I drag/reposition my allies to better spots, snatch some arrows out of the air along the way
>Pull down some badguy's pants and throw his sword away
>Uncork and unload some potions into the barbarian's mouth
>Write "LOSER" on some cunt's forehead with permanent ink

>Important combat
>My turn
>Time stops
>I make like 10 ranged attacks at the BBEG
>Time continues and they all fly at him simultaneously

I don't want timetravel, that'd be a clusterfuck.
I was hoping to find a class or feature that'd let me take extra turns via timestop by spending turns doing nothing, but I haven't found one like that. Also, time stop is basically worthless for anything other than running away or casting a bunch of buffs/other defensive spells.
I don't want it just for mechanics, though. It'd also be fantastic for RP as well.

>>
>>44374691
So you want to fuck action economy in the ass. I don't think that's a good idea.
There are maneuvers that grant extra actions in Riven Hourglass, but not 10 extra standard actions like you described.
>>
>>44374818
It's not really fucking the action economy if I take all my turns in the encounter in one go, is it?
>>
>>44374825
yes, yes it is.

the game is balanced around you getting a turn then the enemies getting a turn, then you getting a turn then the enemies getting a turn.

if you take your two turns at once, there might not be as many enemies left to take their turns.
>>
>>44374825
It is, if that ends the encounter. You won't want that dragon over there take all its actions in encounter to full attack you 3-10 times in a row before you have a chance to do anything, would you?
>>
>>44374844
If a dragon can stop time we're already fucked beyond belief.
Secondly, time stop literally prevents you from attacking people due to some asspull I can't go find right now, so there isn't any way to actually kill enemies while time is stopped. You can't even make combat maneuvers at them or anything.

I call lunar "less good" because while cha to AC is amazing, dex is quite important to reach builds since you are going to take combat reflexes anyways. With that in mind, you are probably left with just the darkvision and natural attacks as the moderately useful revelations seeing as beast shape one requires tons of gm negotiation to pull off.

Huh. So.

Nature:
Bonded Mount: good, but Primal Companion is better.
Erosion Touch: shit.
Friend to the Animals: shit.
Life Leach: shit.
Natural Divination: shit.
Nature’s Whispers: good, but Prophetic Armor is better.
Speak with Animals: shit.
Spirit of Nature: shit.
Transcendental Bond: shit.
Undo Artifice: not exactly shit, but too narrow.
Final Revelation: who cares, but it's shit.

Lunar:
Form of the Beast: good. Even better on reach built that presumably have some Str.
Eye of the Moon: nice filler.
Gift of Claw and Horn: good. Presumably, you have some Str. Also covers 5ft range.
Mantle of Moonlight: mostly shit. Sneaking on wizards when transformed into mice or something and forcing them into no-save rage might be fun though.
Moonbeam: shitty filler.
Moonlight Bridge: depends on interpretation.
Moonlit Script: shit.
Primal Companion: good.
Prophetic Armor: good.
Touch of the Moon: shit.
Final Revelation: who cares? But it's good if only for 3.5 mind blank.
>>
>>44375674
Is Dark Tapestry good?
>>
>>44375674
Pretty much. Nature has exactly two good revelations and a mediocre spell list. Lunar has a much better revelation list but pretty shitty spells. Lunar also wins in class skills. Lunar is objectively the better choice and I mildly regret choosing a nature oracle because it fit my character's theme rather than trying to refluff lunar.
>>
If you have only Simple proficiencies in your class, does Exotic Weapon Proficiency become a good feat to take, assuming you've already selected a race that can't get one for free? It rarely feels like the upgrade is worth much when you have Martials already but the jump to Dwarven Longhammers from Simple junk looks good. I don't have the trait that gives you a martial prof.
>>
>>44375451
a lich brings itself back with all its lich powers, see rejuvenation
>>
>>44375752
Maybe someone else's martial prof can be persuaded to teach you.
>>
>>44375719
Class skills: Intimidate can be fun if you're interested and fucking great if you build for it, but a caster probably won't. Knowledge (arcana) is good. Stealth is handy.

Spells: Tongues is handy, black tentacles is a staple if you're fighting enemies with low CMD, feeblemind is fun to enslave enemies and the like, planar binding is awesome, everything else is either not likely to be relevant or kinda crappy. It's okay overall.

Revelations:
Brain drain is shit.
Cloak of Darkness is pretty good at later levels if your DM lets you use magic vestment on it, since that lets you save money buying magic armor. Otherwise it's shit.

Dweller in Darkness is shit.

Gift of Madness is only really okay at level 7 and beyond. Even then it's mediocre because confusion isn't the greatest debuff there is and lots of shit ignores/resists mind affecting and/or compulsions.

Interstellar Void is crap.

Many Forms would actually be pretty damn good if it weren't minutes/level.

Pierce the Veil is handy if you didn't already have either, but it's just an okay utility thing.

Read the Tapestry is flavorful, but depends on DM cooperation, can backfire, and is easily replaced by actually taking it as a spell, or even better buying scrolls.

Wings of Darkness gives you a fly speed, which is great, but it's limited, which sucks. At the level you get it it's also fairly easily replaced by spells.

Final Revelation is kinda shit.

Overall, it's mediocre and depends on the DM for some stuff. NPC material.
>>
>>44374992
Ntgb nice, I was not aware of those.

I think my next campaign I will allow 3 or 4 traits, plus a regional feat, with the PCs having to justify each with backstory.
>>
>>44375517
A quick look at the srd and Lunar revelation + spirit guide archetype looks pretty good for a reach oriented oracle.

Revelations will go something like this:
1 Primal companion
3 Tax
7 Tax
11 Gift of claw and horn
15 Tax
19 Eye of the moon
20 Capstone

The battle spirit seems like a great fit combined with the Battle master hex for extra AoOs and attack bonuses or maybe the Bones spirit if you want to take inflict spells in tandem with touch of the moon. I'm ignoring lore because its best hex is subject to GM interpretation.

How do you make a caster or ranged character interesting to play?
>>
FUCK I told my first-timer Druid like a month and a half ago that her physical scores won't mean shit so they can be dumped safely. I just now read PF's version of Wild Shape.

Tell them to take the form of the bird and cast spells from the sky or something.
>>

Mechanically, you find interesting ways to deal with problems and stuff that's flavorful. Melee you have problems to overcome. Martials you need to find ways to overcome challenges.

Ranged shit? Stand still, full-attack, 1-20 all day every day. Casters? Spell. Congrats, you win, you have every solution or damn close to it.

As for anything not mechanics, I seem to have a massive block lately to actually thinking of the character portion of characters. Sit here for hours staring at the screen, can't think of shit, nothing ever comes.

Thanks anon!

Gj dude.

Playing my first PF druid now I have a str of 20 and hit like a truck when I'm in a tiger wildshape.

>>44375752
If you only have simple weapons from your class, chances are you shouldn't be relying on weapons overly much anyway - or alternatively, you probably have some way of getting proficiencies that you've overlooked, like Deity's favored weapon for clerics. What are you playing and what do you want to do?

Reading gurps fixed that in me. When the answer to "how do I get ability X" is always "you pay Y points and get it", it really pushes character forward and mechanics to secondary role, at least for me.

Long spear is pretty good. Decent damage, two handed, reach, and combat reflexes. Great stuff.

>longspear
>not branched spear
>missing out on finesse
>missing out on +2 to hit AoOs
>willingly crippling yourself
Filth.
>>
>>44376181
Eh, your typical longspear user will usually have maybe 14 dex, 16 tops and will most likely get a str belt so I see little benefit in sinking a feat on finesse.
>>
>>44376229
Finesse isn't necessary and it's still +2 to hit on AoOs in exchange for one trait. Although I admit you have a point if you don't care about AoOs for some reason.
>>
>>44376242
>Implying you'll get more than 3 AoOs per round
Must be fun having a GM that serves you AoOs on a silver platter.
>>
>>44376253
>implying +2 to hit on three attacks per round isn't worth a trait
Plebeian, please.
>>
>>44376181
Wasting your few feats on weapon Finesse or proficiencies instead of on feats to make your summons better.
>>
>>44376269
>+2 to hit is better than +2 to initiative and other crazy trait bonuses.
Sure is quality posting in here.
>>
>>44376317
>he thinks you only get one trait
>he thinks +2 to hit isn't good
Hahaha oh wow
>>
>>44376307
I mean, if you 1-dipped a martial class for heavy armor, martial weapons, and some other stuff, in exchange for being a level behind on progression maybe; but I wouldn't waste feats on proficiency, so for something like straight cleric, long spear is pretty good.

Neither of these actually happen as much as you say, anon, it's a pretty clear sign you read charop pieces more than playing the game.

New thread where

>>44376388

And now we're to the question of whether or not a feat is worth +2 to attack rolls 3/round. Question though: what trait are you using to make this a blanket +2 to 3 attack rolls whenever you want?

Surely it's not just on AoOs. That'd be pretty dumb to think is good and worth passing up on the better traits, even if you take drawbacks and Extra Traits.
>>
>>44376406
Fair point. It's only really worth it if you're going full Dex-based, otherwise it's negligible.

It only works on the stuff it's listed to work on. DMs often allow extra stuff if you ask nicely though.

CE Inquisitor who 'worships' the ideal of hunting any and all types of creature including sentients (preferably rare) for sport. There are no appropriate deities and all the evil ones love fucking daggers of all things.

I mean there's a thread, might as well use it.

Honestly, I'd rather use a new thread with an either Pathfinder or festive image, rather than a troll thread made early specifically so someone could post a webm of some kids torturing a cat.
>>
>>44376776
It's a reversed webm of a cat being rescued.

Fair enough.
