I don't suck on it, per say. I do roll the bristles along my tongue to keep a point. AFAIK a lot of folk at my local GW do it, too.

I recommend not using a coffee mug for rinse water if you also drink coffee though, cause yeah, I've done that.

Like, sometimes to just wet the head, or just keep the shaft handy. Or clean it.

Paintbrush licking is surprisingly common, but anyone who would put that shit in their mouth (or get their filthy saliva on their expensive sable) is someone with questionable hygiene practices.

I don't care if "that's the only thing you do." If you're well kempt, shower daily, and smell nice, why the fuck are you licking paintbrushes?
