>Go to my first Magic the Gathering FNM
>Half my opponents are wearing large headphones, and refuse to communicate with me
Is this normal?

From my perspective as an outsider looking in, no. FNM at the 4 or so stores I've had the privelege to game in is a time of arguing and occasionally tears.
>Wearing headphones in the LGS
Is this really a thing in America?
>Refuse to communicate
>In a card game
Might as well play a different game. No communication= No game.
>>44077880
>communicating with losers you are only there to destroy
lol I bet you top the FNM every week amirite ;^) fucking betas I swear to god
>>44077722
I've never seen this. Those that have headphones in the shop take them off during the actual match.
I've only ever seen one guy play with headphones and it was Josh Utter-Leyton, a pro.
It's extremely rude and I've never seen it at an FNM, let alone half the people there.

Autism is common among cardfags, yes.
>>44077722
The best part is they are probably listening to Jrock or a podcast or some nu metal.
I've only ever seen one man wear big headphones at all times.
He was genuinely slightly autistic. Not super autismal, he could communicate in a very odd manner and he did have a job.

Every once in a while someone is wearing them while they shop. But I've never seen it while a game is going on, any game.
I frequent 3 LGS in San Diego
