I'm torn between either salt or dust, leaning towards salt though. No idea what it is with me and small particle themed elements.

If I had to a top five, in no particular order:
1 - Salt
2 - Dust
3 - Smoke
4 - Force, especially when played as creating translucent walls and such rather than firing bolts
5 - Chaos

Honorable mention goes to void, which is probably the coolest conceptually but has the problem where the concept is rarely what is actually implemented in the setting. So often it's just "darkness" with another name.

I've always loved the idea of having power over apathy. Being able to instill complete apathy in my targets. If I could I'd choose Emotion, but that seems a little over the top for a secondary element.

Not my first choice, and a few people have already answered heart, but I've always liked the idea of love as a tangible power.

In 8-Bit Theatre there was Black Mage's whole ability to siphon love from the universe and turn it into destructive force.

And I think in Breath of Fire IV, the mid-villains built a god-killing weapon which was empowered by love the human battery had towards the target.

Less lasery, I like the idea of a villain whose power is to make people fall in love with others. It brings up some interesting scenarios, like how it'd be used effectively, what other drives in a person could over-shadow love, how would less stable characters deal with a suddenl inexplicable yearning.
