So I wanna try something out as a sort of experiment. Everyone post your three favorite fictional characters, and everyone else make assumptions and judgments about them based only on this.

This is for a game I am going to run. The three characters part, not the judgment part, I just thought the thread could also be fun.

I'll start. Let's say my three favorite characters are:
1. Deadpool (marvel comics)
2. The Joker(specifically Heath ledger)
3. Johnny the homicidal maniac (from the graphic novel of the same name)
>>
>>43752553
You enjoy violence and destruction.

1. Geralt of Rivia (The Witcher)
2. Ser Duncan the Tall (The Hedge Knight)
3. Michael Carpenter (Dresden Files)
>>
>>43752553
Kirito (SAO Abridged)
Batman (Batman)
Joseph Joestar (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)
>>
I'm guessing between 18 and 23, pretty bright and actually friendly and polite. I'd like to pick on you for being edgy, but those are all guilty pleasures of mine, so here's an internet high five instead. Now I don't feel bad posting my edgy actual favorite characters.

Boy Chimney, (Dial H)
Sweeney Todd
Zim ( bring the torches, bitches.)
>>
>>43752580

You are someone who is duty bound though you might not nesscesarily like it

1. Yuri Lowel (Tales of Experia)
2. Fei Fong Wong (Xenosaga)
3. Spike Speigel
>>
Always had trouble with these, so I'll just say 3 that have relevance to recently consumed media.
>Saitama (One Punch Man)
>Deadpool (Marvel)
>Momonga (Overlord)

>>43752553
You prefer characters that are in it for themselves and aren't afraid og violence (in fact, you actually enjoy it)
>>
>>43752597
Are asspulls your guilty pleasure?

Dante (Devil May Cry)
Kamijou Touma (Index)
Gene (God Hand)
>>
The order isn't really set.

1. Locke (lies of locke lamora)
2. Kreia
3. Stannis

>>43752553
lel so randumb and edgy rite gies?

>>43752580
I like my characters like I like my women: big, hyper masculine, and full of over complicated mandrama. Oh wait, I don't like women.
>>
>>43752605
Edginess runs deep in you. Or it looks like it does. You like a dark story and enjoy a dip in the surreal from time to time.

1. Superman (DC comics)
2. Captain America (marvel comics)
3. Invincible (image comics)
>>
>>43752553
1. Ultraman Zero (Ultraman)
2. Machine Man (marvel comics)
3. Batman (60's version played by Adam West)

>>43752655
I think you might be American, and have a soft spot for boy scout characters that have super strength and resilience as powers.

Possibly interested in /k/.
>>
>>43752731
Only a passing interest in /k/, I swing by a couple times a year. I do so love my boy scouts too. But the power sets I could care less about. It's that these characters are ALWAYS trying, even when there really isn't any hope or chance of success, I just can't see any of them giving up.
>>
>>43752629
You're an idiot whose actions and philosophy constantly screws himself over.

Chaotic good type. Not how I do things, but I respect y'all.
>>
>>43752832
You like to see very human flaws and shortcomings in characters. That's not a bad thing, it usually makes for an interesting story about overcoming those flaws or living with them.

You also believe in doing the right thing, even when if hurts to do.
>>
>>43752851

Chaotic Neutral, I'd say. Tries to do good which comes into a slight inconsistence with their not-that-good nature.

Adventurous and self-reliable. Or wanting to be one.
>>
>>43752926
Repressed. Want to do things that are unavailable to you for some reason. Not necessarily bad or actively malicious things, but neither fully beneficial to others - you want to do that because that seems fun to you, their effect on others is a secondary concern.
>>
Spider Jerusalem(Transmetropolitan, if you havent read it go do so)
Hal Jordan(DC comics, Geoff John's whole run)
Superman(All-Star Superman specifically)

runner ups are hellboy, perturabo(angel exterminatus writing, not the saturday morning cartoony one other writers have done), Jesse Custer(Preacher)
>>
1. Lina Inverse (The Slayers)
2. Wario (Mario series; I specifically prefer his portrayal in Wario Land)
3. Don Quixote

>>43752611
You feel like people are taking life too seriously and wish they would enjoy the subtle, quiet moments in life, or at least take a moment to question their ideals more. You're laid-back, but not lazy. You might pretend to be a goofball sometimes, but there's something deeper underneath.

>>43752624
You're a really friendly guy at the heart of things. You tend to get wrapped up in feelings and people that don't always help you out, and your honesty puts you in as many odd situations as it takes you out of; but at the base of things, you didn't come here to win, you came here to make friends.
>>
Off the top of my head and in no particular order.
1.Sterling Archer (Archer)
2.Daniel Jackson (Stargate SG-1)
3.Giles Wemmbley Hogg (Giles Wemmbley Hogg goes off)
>>
>>43753106

You are wild and independant. If there's something you want you'll go out and get it possibly regardless of the consequences. You're not evil but when you get the shine in your eyes there's no brakes on this train.

>>43752837

There are things that have to be done and few men who are willing or have the stomach to do them and you are one of them.

Hmmm...

1. Harry Dresden - The Dresden Files.
2. Gotrek Gurnisson - Trollslayer Series.
3. Michael Weston - Burn Notice.
>>

You respect the idea of duty, but also enjoy the idea of the rebel.

1. Captain Marvel (DC Comics)
2. Ciaphas Cain (40k Books)
3. Don Quixote (The Man from la Mancha)
>>
1. Takeo ('Across the Nightingale Floor')

Durnik (Belgariad)
The Nameless One (Planescape: Torment)
Tristram Shandy (The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy)

It was hard for me to narrow down three favorites, so I chose three characters that best represent certain archetypes I find cool or identify with.

Durnik is the moral compass. Good natured, practical, and strong. The kind of man I might aspire to be.

The Nameless One, regardless of whether you're good or evil in the game, is a kind of Ubermensch. He's a mortal man at the upper limit of what a man is capable of, grasping at immortality and power, and it cost him greatly. It's strongly implied the original incarnation was a brutal commander of demonic or devilish armies in the Blood War, and the evil the other incarnations wrought on the planes is but a drop in the sea of his sins. He tried to become immortal to give himself the time to atone for his sins, but that was the step too far. He could only be freed from his torment by accepting his punishment in Baator.

Finally, Tristram Shandy, while hardly a character in his own book (written in universe as an autobiography) rounds out the list because he respresents an end to "logical" nihilism. The whole book is written with such appreciation and care for the most mundane things that it exudes an overall love of life and living that is infectious.

>>43752833
I'm curious as to why you chose The Nameless One. I would think from the way Torment plays out it'd be impossible not to get attached to the blue bastard like I did, but I've heard a lot of people say he's weird or lame and they didn't really care about his story until the very end.

Tristram Shandy is an old satirical novel from the 18th century. It's more of an "experience" than a novel really, and at ~900 pages is not for the faint of heart. I mostly read it as a challenge, and then ended up enjoying it. It's a lot stranger than the other classic satirical novels, and has aged a bit better because of it.

Based on your characters I would say you are unsure of how you would react in stressful or dangerous situations, and your uncertainty with yourself terrifies you more than the idea of being in those situations.

Let me try to string these together...
You see yourself as an everyman with a desire to rise into fame and fortune, possibly through your repressed artistic abilities, you fear the Man, who's humorless pragmatism is trying to suck you lifeless.

What's your verdict, though?
>>43782026
>John Constantine
>Mary Sue
I don't think you know what that word means. He's among the most deeply flawed heroes in all of comic books.

Also, Superman isn't a Mary Sue when he's written right, unless "a generally pretty good person who happens to have superpowers" is a Mary Sue.

And Cheryl is a fucking psychopath among psychopaths. I don't even know where you're getting that.

>Ziggy Stardust
You're an alligator.

You fancy yourself a mysterious person to others, but as honest and upfront. A thinking man who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty.

I wouldn't call myself an intellectual, but you're correct.

You have trouble admitting when you're wrong.

I do demand solid proof or reasonable logic as proof if someone say I'm wrong.
I dont mind if Im wrong, but no proof on your side severely degrades your side in my point of view

>I do demand solid proof or reasonable logic as proof if someone say I'm wrong.
Doublespeak for "Yes, yes I do"

You're relatively young - old enough to identify with the late teens/early twenties unpowered heroes. You keep yourself fit, and you've at least tried parkour even if you don't actively practice it, or you want to.

You think you have better taste than the average pleb. You trust your head over your gut and judge those who make decisions just based on feelings.
