Jumpers, we have plenty of talk about theme songs, final stand songs, but what about those songs that you and your companions just jam to whenever it comes on the radio?

It's probably extremely odd to see an almost seven foot tall MMA looking dude and a bunch of 6'+ amazons jamming out to a Bonnie Tyler cover, but I don't care. That shit's our jam.

...Sooo jumpers... What is your cape name?

For the wormverse much to PR grief I went with 'BullShit'

Costume was jeans, blue shirt, red table cloth cape, and 'BS' on both it and the chest. Not even trying to look serious.

Basically went around waiting for my drawbacks to catch up with me and whenever I was "cornered" I would pull a new power out of my ass. Narrating. Every. SECOND.

>trapped by dragonified Lung
"Little did you know, I have the power of hypnosis."
Proceed to put lung and co. to sleep

>Get "caught" between Kaiser and Hookwolf
"Little did the Natzi knew, our hero had the power of electrokinesis"
Proceed to taze everyone into submission

>Get stuck dealing with Leviathan.
"Little did the abomination knew, our hero had the power of terrakinesis."
Proceed to Chibaku-Tensei the endbringer and throw it back to the middle of the ocean

>Murderhobbos United
"Little did the Captain Jack Sparrow knew, I have the power of LAZER EYE BEAMS"
>>
>>43687768
With the Toon Physics power and an my own out of context science powered armour I took upon the mantle of "Doctor Mister Captain Mayor Genral (The Third)."

Which was all part of the name so the interviewers had to call me "Mister Doctor Mister Captain Mayor Genral".
>>
>>43687768
>get "cornered by the merchants"
"Little did the drugees knew I had the power to STOP TIME"
--"Bull-"
ZA WARUDO
beatdown ensues
And so, time resumes---
--"..,ShHhHieeet..."

Behemoth time
>"Little did the monster knew I had the power to become a radiation-powered giant monster"

"Your powers make no sense!"
(channeling Nolan)"Because I'm BULLSHIT"

And I made Dragon an upgraded version of megaman's human-like mechanical body. Because I'm bullshit
>>
>>43687768
I went with Epimetheus. I was busy trying to play discount Eidolon with an Alexandria Package, Haki, my Stand, and three different types of magic. Was working with Cauldron but accidentally caused Eidolon to off himself fairly early on.

For Worm, how hard would it be to make Mathematical Calculation and always on thing? It seems super useful, but Thinker headaches sound like a bitch.

Is it much of a stretch to assume that a Jumper with tons of intelligence, stamina, and regen boosts wouldn't be as effected by Thinker headaches?

Usually we don't go with cape names. Apart from our various titles (which really, are more like job descriptions that got blown waaaaay out of proportion by other people), we already address ourself as Anon to most and thousands of years ago we ate our true name to prevent anyone from exploiting it so-in a sense, we're always using "Anon" as a cape name to defend against sympathetic magic.

Though in OPM, we received the hero name "Uncaped Baldy" when we joined the Association. As a Mysterious Being. Misunderstandings abounded.

They continued to happen in MCU when Peter Quill got into a huge argument with us over who got to be called Star-Lord.

We didn't even want the stupid name. Either way, after an incident involving a runaway traumatised Endbringer and a lot of cosmic fire, Star-Lord ended up sticking on Earth Aleph even though we just reregistered as Uncaped Baldy on Earth Bet. On top of everything else people started wondering if Sundancer was supposed to be our sidekick.

Look. Cape names are more trouble than they're worth.

Maybe a little bittersweet for us but its a good song all the same. Just keep smiling, move onward every day, and try to keep our thoughts away from home.

I went with Candle Jack using the perk from GoW that lets you know when someone says your name and teleporting to yoink them when it was said. After that one of three things would happen. They would come back days later looking like they came out of Jojo, or Picasso courtesy of franken fran surgery. The less pleasant who mention it get to experience the heart of the sun such as the slaughterhouse as one example.

I know people tend to be sensitive about stuff like new powers for Conduits, but how acceptable would Plants be as a Conduit-power? Sort of like Poison Ivy powers.

>>43688120
Plant Conduits get mentioned in Second Son at one point. If you found one you could use the power transfer tech to give you their abilities.
>>
>>43688120
Damn. That's one fine Ivy.
>>
>>43688134
But how about starting with it?

>>43688139
Ayup.
>>

How could you start with it? It's not one of the options.
>>
>>43688154
>starting with it
Wank it.
>>
>>43688120
I think the issue people has is that we have a limited number of powers you can get as a jumper. Other power types should be fine I think if you were handing out the conduit gene. Plants are also pretty much fine, though it likely wouldn't show a particularly wide range of abilities, though not many conduits do.
>>43688154
Starting with it? no because you get one of only a few options, you would have to do quite a bit of work to get around that.
>>
>>43688172
>>43688176
Huh. I suppose that's what I meant about people getting up-in-arms about non-protagonist Conduit powers from the get-go.
>>
>>43688120
Too bad Poison Ivy is a honey trap.
>>
>>43688204
Well, technically Electricity is the conduit power of the first game's main antagonist.

I was actually going through a phase at the time having just done Darksiders. I went with Conquest, Karasuba as War, Elodie as Famine and Anubis as Death.
I spent most of Worm trying to convince Skitter to join 'The Riders' as Pestilence.

Speaking of Worm though, is using magic an effective strategy for most of the bullshit there?

My name and cape name was "John Galt", i didn't have any other Identity really.
I rolled the reverse engineering tinker power, and i already had Retro-engineer from MCU and Certified Tech from fallout that help with reverse engineering shit and other intelligence and tech perks so i decided to run with it and made my objective for the jump was to unite all the tinkers in the world to work together for the good of humanity.
But a lot of them where so selfish that they didn't want to join and the project started to attract too much attention. So i decided to started to abduct and brainwash them with powers from other jumps to make them work under me so that i could reverse engineer their stuff and personally select which one would be made public to the general population. In ten years i ended up not divulging much (if anything at all) but I gathered quite a lot of tinker tech.

My costume was something like this but with both arms shiny.
>>
>>43688457
Depends on the magic and whether or not you've been to Jackie Chan Adventures to pick up Magic Must Defeat Magic.
>>
>>43688464
Yeah but I merely did it because I felt it fit well.

>>43688488
What would you recommend? and no, I would have to ask you to explain Magic Must Defeat Magic.
>>
>>43688550
Magic Must Defeat Magic is a perk that makes it so that only supernatural effects can counter your supernatural effects. Since everything in Worm is explicitly natural, if powerful and exotic, that means you'd be unopposable in that world.
>>
>>43688338
From reading it, I think it just doesn't work with non-swords. There's nothing in there about being able to use blunt weapons instead.
>>
>>43688488
You don't really need the latter given the right type of magic. I'd like to see Scion cope with having his avatar turned into a frog, or into stone, or forced to fight several duplicates of itself.

Or a few blasts of warpfire, for that matter.

>>43688471
>john galt

Did you have a sidekick called Ayn Rand too?
>>
>>43688550
Actually wait-just git gud at illusions and mind magic. Scion can't do jack shit against mind magic.

>>43688570

I call myself The Vulture

Mainly because I would only rarely do the actual fighting and instead I would swoop in and off whatever supervillian was causing a ruckus this week.

Turns out, when you do something more permanent than just sticking them in jail, crime rate actually goes down.
Who woulda thunk it?
>>
>>43688572
I fought Scion with the Skull of Corruption! That was fun... from a distance.
>>
>>43688643
Wasn't "keep the bodycount down" one of the 'rules'? Like "no outing capes"?
>>
>>43689086
Maybe?
I don't know.
I don't recall that from any jumps.

Not like it matters, since I would be saving lives in the process.
>>
>>43689086
Yep. By reducing the number of available capes for Endbringer fights he's going to actually increase the body count. Not to mention the inevitable fight with Scion.
>>
>>43689180
Oh, you're talking Worm.
I didn't jump Worm, I was just talking in general terms.
>>
Smash Jump question. If you don't get 'law of convenience', how do specials work? The text of that and other perks implies or even relies on you having specials, like the Sm4sh 100cp perk that lets you swap out your specials.

tl;dr What does a vanilla smasher before perks look like, mechanically?
>>
>>43688561
With that, it would probably turn out that Myrrdin really DOES use magic and is the only counter to you.
>>
>>43687768
I'm bad at names, so I was probably going to go with just Void.
>>
>>43687768
One thing I kind of want to do there is split myself apart into a hivemind. Each body uses one or two of the powers from previous jumps to act as a cape, then they infiltrate organizations, heroic and villainous, all over the world. With luck, one body that's using a huge number of powers from many different jumps, combined with demonstrating that Out of Context problem works on all in-universe, might even be strong enough and relevant enough to work with Cauldron.

If I did that, there obviously wouldn't be any one name that applied to me, but I think "Gestalt" would make a fine name during the big reveal.

However, I have no idea what the endgame of the plan would be. Sure, I could probably influence global politics on a huge scale, but what would I actually do?
Also, I don't know what jumps would give me the power to hive-mind myself like that. I might just have to do it with one of the "make up a power" options.

Oh yeah and while I'm posting, people were talking about it last thread, if anyone wants to do any alternative DC jumps I'm cool with that and this has nothing at all with the fact that I'd like to see a DCCU jump as I like the Supergirl TV show more than I care to admit.

Where viable it's best to stay away from the basic format/content of the previous ones. Marvel Cinematic Universe is a good example of how it can work really well - it captures the feel of the setting, doesn't have a great deal of crossover with the Marvel jump, and really doesn't feel like generic Marvel at all.

DC jump was initially supposed to just be comics but people wanted to go to DCAU and it was easier for me to say yes than for someone else to make a full DCAU jump. Alternate jumps can be great though and I'm generally of the opinion that more jumps are better than less and that nobody should feel there's a monopoly on a particularly broad setting (which is largely why I split TES, didn't want it to feel like nobody could make a TES jump of one of the other games).

Now for more Evil Run.

Strong will and being extremely difficult to possess on account of a Kirby perk are good but I'm probably going to have to stay off the seriously evil stuff or else I may start to think letting Trigon in might be funny. Also DC is a bad place to be a supervillain really. Will probably just go amoral superbusinessman or something.

Would do this before Teen Titans. Not very concrete ordering with these at the minute. This is actually a little different to normal. Guess when you're not being good you don't feel as much of a need for people not to blame you for collateral damage so International Hero doesn't have as much of a point. Also cut out Culinarian as evil me probably doesn't cook and would instead have some sort of companion or robot for that. Replaced it with a Truth Ray and a ball that causes insects to grow giant and obey you (which I'm pretty sure I never noticed before or else I'm sure I would have taken it at some point).

Lots of the plans for evil me are basically the same as those for regular me it turns out. Using Dread Pirate Roberts to become the apprentice to various supervillains, stealing technology and then moving on. Guess one of the nice things about Physical Fitness from Pokemon is that I imagine it resets at the start of each jump so I'm not a fat 14 year old even to start with.

I honestly just go for Wild Card at this point. It fits the whole "I can use abilities that don't play by the rules of this universe" thing I've got going on by virtue of being a Jumper, and it's suitable for a hero, villain, or rogue depending on the role I'm going to play.

There are a few in Civ. One that makes people accept things rationally when you tell them bizarre truths. One that keeps people from getting frustrated no matter the seeming cultural barriers. And one that lets you go "I'll explain more later" and have people accept that for the time being. Oh, and one that lets you teach people to be rational and un-biased, if you want to make more permanent changes.

How do you play Jumpchain?

And I don't mean 'oh how do I think of stuff?'

I mean... Time wise. 10 years? Ten fucking years? That's an insane amount of time. Who were you ten years ago? Do you remember? I know I was drastically different just in the ways I thought about and saw the world.

Who are you going to be in another 10 years? Another person again.

I love jumpchain, don't get me wrong. I love CYOAs, probably too much. I love hanging out and thinking about 'what if' stuff and the amount of CYOA content to come out of Jumpchain makes it look like there isn't anybody else even trying.

But I can only look at them as 'one off' adventure things, because I can't even imagine the person I'll be in ten years, let alone after 10 years of crazy adventures... And jesus, what about 50 or 100 years?

So It's just... focus on one for a little while, enjoy it, but never jump on. I'll also say that restriction often breeds creativity, and whenever I've thought about it I would be way over powered by the second jump.

And I know, I get it, it's all fun creativity fodder... And I see people in this thread having cool talking about it but I just can't suspend that level of disbelief.

So... How do you do it? Any jumpers working on a 1 year jumptime head cannon or something?

Your jump seemed cool and in an interesting world so I went and read Worm. So... Thanks for introducing me to one of the best stories I ever read Worm Anon.
>>
>>43697244
Think less of yourself as a person, and think more in terms of gods, tricksters, demigods and forces of nature.
>>
>>43697244
10 years aren't full of crazy adventures. You break it down year by year, month by month, and you slowly work through what happens. Major events happen to your character, your relationships change over time, sometimes you have off days, sometimes those off days span for months when nothing is happening. You won't remember every moment of it, but that's just life, you remember major events, you remember the people, you remember circumstances. Eventually you stop changing as much, eventually things don't seem as new to you anymore.

When you've lived long enough, you can clearly picture what will happen in ten years' time. You might think that it's a lot right now, but eventually a decade passes by so quickly, you'll turn around and realize "what did I do with all the time".

The power contention thing isn't an issue. Holding power is one thing, using power is another - depending on who you are, possessing something doesn't mean you'll use it, sometimes power is like a porcelain vase you keep in a display case that you never intend to use. If you feel obligated to use, or even abuse power just because you have it...

Well, that's up to your style.
>>
>>43697366

>>
>>43697398
Just because you can, doesn't mean you will.
>>
>>43697408
Going through your memory and manually deleting hefty chunks can't possibly be good for you.
>>
So in the Percy Jackson jump what sort of powers would you get if you selected Odin as your father?
>>
>>43697398
I won't. Perfect memory is as much a bane as it is a blessing. Even "selective" perfect memory that people choose to interpret with those perks can become more a bane than a blessing.

How we act in our relationships, how we behave towards people, even our daily behavior, is strongly influenced by memory. In time people forget pain, loss, grudges, slights - but when you don't forget any of that and you let it linger inside you, it broods and affects your mentality. I don't know about you, but my companions and I don't always get along. I'd rather than all of us be able to forget those moments and move on. (I don't adopt the selective perfect memory schemes)

I don't mind taking higher memory capacity or longer memory duration. But perfect memory is, in my perspective, dangerous - especially for a nigh immortal individual.

Too many deaths I want to forget

It depends on what you mean by change.
If you're in your early twenties, then of course you're a wildly different person from who you were ten years ago, because ten years ago you were a dumbass teenager.
On the other hand, if you're in your 40s, then you might not be hugely significantly different from who you were in your 30s, other than maybe picking up or disposing of some habits, hobbies, or mellowing out a bit or getting angrier.

Anyway, see: >>43697294
For the most part I'm not prone to significant change anymore. I was pretty impressionable during the first three hundred years or so, when I was still starry eyed about meeting my idols, but somewhere after that all faded into a slow backward slide into ambivalence and personal nihilism.

Though, on the other hand, I vacillate pretty wildly between good and evil from jump to jump, and even attach myself to all kinds of people in misguided fangirlism. So maybe I really do have significant personality changes over time.
>>
>>43697438

Well, for me, some jumps I just breeze through, the ones I was less interested in.

I assume that I figured out how to slow down my perception of time at some point. So when I am actually interested in a jump for the world, and not just power, I actually slow down and live. Otherwise I spend like 8 years researching and building stupid shit.

On a side note, I want to spend my marvel jump working with pic related. The only problems I foresee are getting on dooms badside via accidentally provoking his pride, Anything I can pick up to minimize any chances of me getting my face blown off?

My first plan was to get in his good graces by using some highly advanced healing magic to fix his jacked up face. Back to how it originaly was, Thoughts?

There's nothing really stopping you from playing out a chain with shorter jumps, though. If you're pedantic about keeping to the rules, find a jump that has a shorter period as a drawback - make that your starting jump, and keep the drawback for the rest of your chain.

I like to practice my aesthetics to make my tech look like it came from their respective era's. Sometimes I go overboard and just create just as advanced tech as I currently have with an old timey look to them.

Like how I invented an entirely wooden flame resistant television. Or a clockwork machine gun. I've lost track of how many times I've made anachronistic tech fit in too well.
Hyper advanced tech looking like it came straight out of the stone age is pretty funny. And it adds another layer of fuck to people trying to reverse engineer it.
>>
>>43698109
I've somehow become a magic focused hater of modern society in my current chain, I still use and collect technology but now it's mainly so that I can combine it with my arcane abilities and populate worlds with monsters and magic.
>>
Anybody take the fallout jump and tinker with the FEV? I'm thinking of merging it with the super soldier serum of Prototype.
>>
>>43697650
I look at it as the greatest hits. When i'm doing the jump I get highlights. It might be sliding across a baggage train in a space station, running from blue skinned freaks, preforming exterminus on an inner alliance world [Firefly] or cracking knees, puppeting the jewish mob, or making an alliance with the Italian mob [mob jump] or sitting in disgust as my companion laughs hysterically at my tiny loli form [railgun] or Drinking and smoking around a bonfire with companions while kicking scorpion people's teeth in, and later taking over a city state with forces from my city state, watching both sides take heavy casualties but ensuring my people are still superior [dark sun]

I can't possibly list everything, but you see. Then i scale my mental experiences to what environment i'm in, what i'm doing there, and what my mental status is. That's why I take vacation jumps. Post 30 years in Light of Terra with no powers relatively early in my chain, surrounded by Dark Eldar as well as the ending, I was traumatized. Guess who took 10 years in Courage the Cowardly Dog-verse, knitting and gardening in an abandoned castle, all while blowing off steam? Yep. Eventually i'm going to writefag all of it, but i'm sure once i'm done with my chain it would add up to being 10-20 novel sized books of bad self insert fanfiction. Anyways, do what works for you.

Naval Supremacy build because just importing LoT is kind of boring imo. So my plan is to try to recreate the Fleet of Fog.

Now for the usual slog of reverse-engineering which I will use Retro-Engineer (MCU), I can't remember other ones at the top my head that isn't Worm.

Since Fog ships are made of nanomachines it would be a bit more tricky to experiment with but I'll use Red Faction Scientist perk tree, Iji Technician perk tree, & Miniaturization from Worm to fiddle with the nanomachines.

To actually get Fog ships I'm going to get a Allied Mental Model and get them a nanomaterial warship along with super weapon system. Going to try and end up with the American Fleet of Fog since there's probably a crap ton of ships to study there.

If everything goes to plan, my 10 years will be spent studying how Fog ships re-supply, are made, and their tech in exchange for me supplying them with fancy weapons and tactics.

tl;dr This is the one setting I wanted tech perks for.

DOOM welded that mask to his skin. You don't fix his face, the mask is his face now. Or at least it was until the first time he was vaporized.

How do I make the most of Pokepowers, Jumpers? I Jumped Mysterious Dungeon, but after that, how do I keep that powerset relevant/growing?

Also, how strong/tough are Pokeblobs anyway? The Jump suggests that they are all by default physically superior to humans.
>>
>>43699520
You know, I've been wondering about this. I took both Aura and Psionics, as well as ending Mystery Dungeon as an Infernape. I figure it could be really good for all but the more absurd power-level settings, but I'm not all that sure.
>>
>>43699578
...seriously? I mean, you've got okay psychic powers capped at a certain level, ki powers that are also capped at a certain level (Neither of these levels being super high either), and infernape is just fire and above average physical stuff. It's a good base but there's a great deal of settings that would stomp all over that, not just the most powerful ones.
>>
>>43699520
Pokemon powers are naturally capped to a maximum level, so you'd need to bypass that with something like Soft Cap. Otherwise there's always the Corona Stimulants from Worm, which boost biological powers by a whopping 50%.

Unique mutations to the Etherwind, usually a double edged sword, like wings or multiple eyes. Removable by a potion that's rare and expensive. There are another set of mutations which are either buffs or debuffs but cheaper to remove. Potions to get positive mutations are much more expensive than those that cure ether, though.

I love good food and making good food. Not all my food is good but I've got plenty of time to change that. I love sharing my food with others so no one is hungry.

I love my family but where we're going, they can't go with me so I've built up a new family I don't want to let go. A family I might be willing to do anything to protect.

And fun. Its a new, with new places to see and new things to do. I can't possibly do it all in just 10 years most of the time so I focus on finding whats new in a world and just focus on having fun with that.

Aside from that, in worlds where nothing is really new, like a mundane vacation world. I just kick back and play house maker. I practice things, teach things, build things and read all those books I've been piling up.

Thinker headaches don't go away since they're brain strain from all the processing Thinker powers do.

Tinkers can share knowledge easier for vial and contractor powers, but they need to sink in the effort to strip things down to muggle level.

Also note that technically Contractor can't grant Tinker abilities since Tinker abilities are shard databases and CAD programs. Instead your faking them with Thinker abilities that are oomphed up draft and design powers for a specialty.

Its only really an academic distinction from how worm powers work. But its something you might want to keep in mind. For all but a few very far out cases theres no practical difference.

It's basically a hogpog of mythologies from all over the world, with lots of magic, heros, vastly different civilizations, and species

Furthermore it's also split along Early Era/Middle Era/Late Era

With Magic and Magical Beings becoming rarer as the Eras go on, and Steel and other tech becoming more common.

One example nation would be Ermor, in Early Era it's basically Rome. In Middle Era they had opened a gate to the Underworld, and the entire Empire is controlled by Undead.
Ermor no longer exists by Late Era, though Marignon and Pythia, which are offshoots of it, both do.

Out of curiosity, any chance of an option to keep the passenger post-jump?
>>
>>43698365
Uhhh... no, actually. I mean, I did go to Fallout, but I mostly tinkered around with robots. Built a lot of Mr Handies, Mr Gutsies, and even Securitrons. But not Sentry Bots. Those things are too clunky.
Then I sent them to scout out ruins and collect trash, which was then processed and converted into usable things for the betterment of society and also more robots. MORE ROBOTS.
SO. MANY. ROBOTS!!

I ended up taking over quite a few abandoned cities through sheer numbers, actually. Big ones.
Raiders just stopped trying after awhile, because they couldn't outnumber the robots. Straight up.
And there are a lot of fucking raiders.

...

So that's what I did.
Didn't mess with FEV.
Mostly just pillaged absolutely everything. I was basically that player that has to pick up EVERYTHING. Including every last tin can, no matter how useless.
That's what I did.

As for what you're doing, I guess I might remind you to make sure you fix the thing that causes severely reduced intelligence.
Mighty require some tests and/or further genetic alteration.
Unless you're into that for some reason. In which case, uhhhh, go nuts?
>>
>>43701300
To be fair to that Anon, FEV is supposed to increase intelligence, something is just messed up with the Formula. It does work for a subset of people with the right genetic markers though.

Also I would swear to god there is something in the Lore about the "Pure" line of Brotherhood members having been exposed to a modified version of FEV, with only a very small increase to ability. But I could be remembering wrong.

Because all that shit you wouldn't carry because it wasn't valuable, or was too heavy?
You can break it down for parts for your Guns or Settlement

At least with the right perks you can fast travel while over-encumbered. Or just drink lots of different alcohol and take buff-out for the strength boosts.
>>
>>43701379
I kinda have that problem. Had it ever since my first open world game with lots of junk.

Anything that wasn't nailed down was mine.
Anything I could pry loose wasn't nailed down.
However, I would gather everything I could from a building or cave and store it in something nearby that was permanent like a locker. I would then make trips to and from it and my house/base while just barely staying under my max load.

In the Jumps, where I have instant access to a warehouse... I have a lot of junk I need to sort through at the end of every jump.

No, but the drawback guy did.

While I played reclaimer and made nice with everything not Caesar, the bastard got themselves plastic surgery to look like me and specced into biochems to set themselves up as Master 2.0.

Ended up running into Double-Super mutants of all things that had Deathclaw attack dogs. Some had cyborg plasma hands.

Had to hike a circuit around America to pick up their trail, dodging Caesar. Then ended up in a fist fight to the death on a floating zeppelin warship that threathened to spread aerosolized FEV into the jetstreams.

Dominions Jump would be rad as hell. I feel like it'd be a massive project, though. I wouldn't split it into faction-specific episodes; there are like a billion factions, so a single jump document for the whole thing seems like the most practical approach to me.

I assume the jumper is a pretender god? It's a horrifyingly lethal setting otherwise. Also, how were you planning to handle enemy pretenders? A big part of the jump would be dealing with them, but they're randomly generated ingame so there are no 'canon' pretender gods.
>>
>>43702748
Assign numbers to all the Jumps you've gone on. Roll X dice. The most powerful character in the Jump is now a rival god.

You might get a big dog (Nintendogs). Or Super-Scion. Try your luck!

Mostly by killing off Scion, sealing away the Endbringers, and killing off the majority of Shards on Earth Bet.

Scion'll be taken care of via a vortex bomb/fold warhead via Elder Blood/Asura Cryin/Portals/D&D3.5 Gate Spell/Whatever Else Hightech BUllshit nessecary to camly walk up to him, open up a path to his true body, and toss said warhead through. Perhaps multiple. Different kinds. Backups are good, right?

The Endbringers'll will be taken out via my Companion's use of 'Q This!' perk on them, letting me get in close enough to simultaneously utilize all my anti-ability/magic perks I've acquired over the years to come in, shut down their capabilities, slap them with that monster girl perk from Unholy Heights, use telepathy to infect them with humanity, and then seal them away in some hypertech time/space bullshit mechanical seal until I figure out with what to do with my new trio of Endbringer Monster Girls. Insert screams of horror here.
>>
>>43700499
>>43700575
>>43703260

Before this'll I'll have use the aforementioned perk/spell/tech combo of Elder Blood/Asura Cryin/Portals/D&D3.5 Gate Spell/Whatever Else Hightech Bullshit combined with ZnT Void-derived Genocide spell to also wipe out the Shards. I've had enough practice/research that I can single-target said spell, though I'll need test subjects to work the kinks out - Eidiolon, the S9, ect, ect, to make sure I kill off the Shard but not the host and not harm the host in a debilitating fashion.

Mind, given the rather diffusive and spread-out nature of the Shards, I doubt I'll get all of them, but I should get a good chunk of them killed off that are connected to Earth Bet, which'll give the world enough breathing room to start fixing everything.

I figure the above will take a week. Maybe two. Plenty of time for me to clean up the place, make it nice and pleasant to live.

Combined the above with that Drawback that everyone knows of me(and how I'll fluff the Drawback), I'm going to be fending off awkward questions for most of my stay.

That's rather optimistic, don't you think? That all assumes everything will go according to plan, your enemies will all behave in predictable patterns and there won't be any unexpecting hiccups along the way or collateral damage. Which doesn't seem a wise assumption to make in this setting.

Oh no, I have nothing against that. My objection to the perk is wholly meta. Turn any threat into a cute girl with no meaningful effort is the most contrived, conflict killing absurdity I've ever read from a perk on top of being non-canon and a sign of the creator's laziness to boot.

>shard

My understanding was mucking around with those can hurt the hosts, if that guy who started mutating into an ooze monster after Scion died and one of his Shards attached to him is any sign.

>time-pause perk

The scale of your opposition and their level of awareness, mainly. Granted I'm unaware of your Jumper's capabilities but unless you're something on the level of ASA or Val my main question is how you plan to set up all the infrastructure to work your science through without objection. Especially your hypertech time/space bullshit mechanical seal, which I'd assume would take some time to construct even with time dilation if it can hold an Endbringer.

I guess you could always build it on one of the alternate worlds uninhabited by humanity? On second thought, I suppose it makes more sense if you're taking the most generous interpretation possible of that non-canon crap from UH in regards to the Endbringers. And while I do think the warheads could grievously wound Scion, unless you're precog proof I'm also pretty sure he wouldn't just stand still and let you open up a path. And while he is an idiot, he does have some serious computational prowess on top of dimensional travel so-you might be in for a bit of a Benny Hill sequence, assuming he doesn't go after your infrastructure to smash it.

I'm actually not sure if Q This would work on the Endbringers for the same reason Magic Must Deafeat Magic WOULD work on them; they're sufficiently advanced constructs running on multiuniversal energy redirection, not reality warpers per se. Everything in Worm is supposedly deterministic, after all.

FEV works fine on normal humans. What fucks it up is the miniscule DNA damage from radiation. You dunk a human from a vault in the FEV, and you get all around better supermutants, you dunk a person from the wastes in and you get a retarded one. Entirely because of the radiation.

Of course, even when it works right the FEV makes you sterile. You keep your junk, and it eventually starts to work again, but you're shooting blanks. Also, you're ugly.

I did pick up the Kwisatz Haderach perk in Dune, actually. It's just so very, very useful, for exact situations such as these.

In terms of 'How fast can I build stuff', man, I could probably work out the exact specifics, but that would take a pastebin to illustrate everything of how fast I could slap stuff together 'in the field'.

As far as Endbringer physiology goes, I just regard it with a critical eye before throwing up my hands and pushing it off to the side. It's pretty much bullshitium, so I don't mind taking care of them via equal bullshitium and/or technobabble.

I mean, it's not like I'm trying to create Endbringers of my own, like OTHER CERTAIN JUMPERS I could name. Hi, Anti-Spiral-Anon!

Who would make Endbringers, so silly. They don't even have multiple final forms! They can't even go back in time to raise the people fighting them in the present with crippling neuroses... maybe the bird one can.

Nope, no Endbringers here. cough. Why would you even make a slow battle of attrition? Much funner to make a threat that seems beatable in a Saturday Cartoon type of way.
>>
>>43703793
>Supreme Commander tech
Let me put it this way, Anon.

For most of my Jumper build, one of my goals was to CREATE Supreme Commander-level technology.

With the Supreme Commander Jump, it's going to be great to see how my versions compare to the real thing!

While I admit to being kind of busy at the moment, I may slap together a pastebin if I have the time later.

>Q This Wouldn't Work

Taking down the Endbringers would involve using Anti-Worf Effect perk first, and Q This would be stacked with other power-shutdown abilities to make sure they don't get back up right away. And by 'right away' I mean 'for however long it takes for my Jumper to work', which... may not be that long at all, come to think. Eh, debatable.

I'm not saying they're unbeatable either, anon.

I'm saying walking up to the one who specs in localised energy control and punching it instead of using magic or some shit from a distance is retarded, even if you're strong enough to tank the kinetic forces.

I never said you couldn't block out the effect; Alexandra's power keeps her safe from his kill aura. But you never mentioned anything that might resist that sort of things, like a Mantic energy forcefield or something.

Meh, Endbringers are easy to kill.

Step 1: Go to Persona
Step 2: Acquire Mudo from some source or another. Last-ditch is the perk that gives you a second Arcana - pick Death.
Step 3: Spam Mudo.

Unlike most death spells, it works on non-lifeforms, and the Endbringers wouldn't have magic resistance so they can't Null it. Eventually, you'll roll the 40% chance, and viola - dead Endbringer.

Potentially all of them, though its important to note that most are barely sentient, never mind sapient. This is because the shards learn from their hosts - and as collossal mountain/country-sized clarketech computers, they've got more than enough computronium to develop a personality and even sapience - it's just that normally the Entities prevent that sort of thing. E.g.: Leet's shard gets progressively more annoyed with him; originally it just made his attempts to building the same devices fail, but it starts making them fail in dangerous ways. Jack's shard likes its host. Taylor's shard becomes one of, if not the, most developed; it starts copying her and "helping", and eventually, near the end, Taylor's no longer sure who's running things, her or her shard.

>>43704408
It's after midnight here, anon, my typing's slow.
>>
>>43704392
But Experimental MIRV-chan is a dirty, dirty girl.
>>
>>43704446
Oh, right. It's been a while, but I always thought that the "they're annoyed/they like you" thing was an analogy the hosts came up with, and that the shards are just computing units keyed for specific traits in their hosts. Taylor's for example was just adjusting itself to perform better.

But it's been a while, and you're probably right about them being clarktech enough to potentially develop personalities if Dragon, who's much less complex, managed it. I do remember Wildbow mentioning that the Entities purposefully set up safeguards to prevent sapient AIs from developing because they perceived it as a threat i.e. that Richter's shard purposefully engineered a strong inclination to shackle his creations.
>>
>>43703883

Their computers 'smart' enough to manage complicated powers, that can auto-use their powers for you in some cases, that adapts itself using data gained from the host and that can make upgrades.

And several replies occurred while I went to check things just incase I was misremembering.
They also have enough awareness do like or dislike their hosts. Also Taylor seems to think her shards passenger has at least something resembling a personality, and that it's communicating with her

So it seems to have enough to count as a mental pet, even if Taylor might just be going crazy.

I have to wonder, in retrospect, how much of that was Taylor going crazy and how much was Taylor perceiving the big picture in a form she could comprehend. Yes, a person is a biological computer. But not all biological computers are people. That's the core of it, the fact that a shard's hardware is capable of running a program (personhood) doesn't mean they have it installed, especially with the Entities fear of AI, they're unlikely to have allowed their shards to run it.

Well gets what guys, its controversy time!

I'm a big stargate fan, and while I like the stargate jump I can't help but think there is room for far more stuff. All of the backgrounds are geared towards being a member of sg-1. So even the only alien race you can play as, the Goa'uld have no background options.

So should I do a Stargate: atlantis jump? Or could I just do a stargate: aliens jump that lets you play as aliens in either galaxy and maybe a minor system lord or something?

Is the original creator still around? I would love to hear his opinion.
>>
>>43705348
No. The jump contains the Stargate series.
>>
>>43705355
While you are technically correct, you didn't actually answer any of the points I brought up.
>>
>>43705348
Red made SG and if I recall, they're currently updating Bayonetta, Macross and going to take a stab at Indiana Jones.

Controversy shared is controversy halved so-you might be able to get a word in on the IRC. Though Red's recently been having Adobe flash player issues and might not be able to internet properly.

>>
>>43705494
It's my justification for saying no.
>>
>>43705496
Which doesn't actually cover my reasons why I wanted the jump in the first place.
>>
>>43705507
You asked people if you should, anon. Are you unhappy that people are responding to that?
>>
>>43705512
Are you unhappy I disagreed with your reasons? Why give advice if you don't want that advice to be discussed?
>>
>>43705542
I'm actually just mystified as to why you're claiming I didn't answer anything you said when I did.
>>
>>43705563
I never said you didn't. I just said your answer had little to do with the reasons I asked the question in the first place.

We both agree the original covered the series, but I wanted more alien options and that has nothing to do with the original jumps coverage.
>>
>>43705582
The point is that duplicate jumps aren't accepted. The jump covers the entire series, the fact that it doesn't offer the alien you like isn't a justifiable reason to make an entire new jump, as a different timeline would. So that's a valid reason to tell you no. The only way you'd be able to get away with doing it is if Red gave her approval because she made the Stargate jump, which another anon has already informed you of.
>>
>>43705582
>>43705616
Just going to butt in here: Maybe just ask Red to put in some more alien options?

And so, yet another customisation table is born
>>
>>43705616
Now this here is more like it.

First off I do think allowing for entirely different options is a justifiable reason to make a jump in an existing jump setting. We already have jumps like that actaully, we have both a terrain and zerg jump for starcraft and will probably have a protoss one now that the third expansion is out. Also we have multiple warhammer 40k jumps. As long as there is completely different options and backgrounds available I don't see why we can't have multiple jumps for one setting.

And yes I'll talk to Red, maybe she has plans to come back to it herself or may just consent to it.
>>
>>43705765
>terrain and zerg jump
Made by the same person.
>multiple warhammer 40k jumps
Focusing on entirely different sections of the galaxy. Also worth noting that the makers okayed them with each other so far.

>As long as there is completely different options and backgrounds available I don't see why we can't have multiple jumps for one setting.
Redundancy, removing the impact and purpose of choices, and wankery to include options you want (WELL MY JUMP HAS MEODP BECAUSE YOURS DIDN'T!), and pointless forced competition to be the 'real jump', as well as encouraging sniping each other.
>>
>>43705765
While I'm staying out of this by and large, I would like to clarify on behalf of >>43705808 that the If The Emperor Had A Speech to Text Device is widely seen as a powergrab as well as pretty much the only 40K jump not widely accepted or discussed.
>>
>>43701907

>>
>>43705849
*If The Emperor Had A Speech to Text Device jump
>>
>>43705808
Actually the Terran and Zerg jumps were by different people. As for Atlantis vs SG1 I'd say it would depend on how well he can manage to distinguish things, Atlantis had quite a bit of stuff not in the current jump. Would recommend waiting on Red coming by to put in her two cents though.
>>
>>43705880
Terran guy did tell OAA he could make it, though.
>>
>>43705808
>Made by the same person.

Which wasn't the point you made. You said and continue to say redundant jumps don't need to be made. That is your evidence that you are wrong on that point.

>Focusing on entirely different sections of the galaxy. Also worth noting that the makers okayed them with each other so far.

And allowing you to play the races of two different galaxies wouldn't be the same how?

>Redundancy, removing the impact and purpose of choices, and wankery to include options you want (WELL MY JUMP HAS MEODP BECAUSE YOURS DIDN'T!), and pointless forced competition to be the 'real jump', as well as encouraging sniping each other.

I'm confused, you admit above that there are jumps like this and obviously this doesn't happen already. However here you still argue that multiple jumps are not a good idea.

Everything you mentioned such as wankery and impact are already problems that must be faced by every jump and are not any worse for a jump in the same setting that allows completely different backgrounds.
>>
>>43705910
>Which wasn't the point you made.
I'm telling you in what situations it's been considered acceptable to make multiple jumps.
>And allowing you to play the races of two different galaxies wouldn't be the same how?
There's a lot more than a 'race choice' that distinguishes those jumps.
>I'm confused, you admit above that there are jumps like this
Which were accepted because they met this criteria. If you don't meet those criteria, your jump isn't like to be accepted and will just be hated and more than likely wouldn't end up on the drive. Since you are not Red, this is why it's vital for you to talk to her and get her permission

>are already problems that must be faced by every jump
Preeeeetty sure that competition and including options just because they weren't in another version of the same setting are actually impossible in most jumps. Those problems I mentioned are largely exclusive or magnified by the situation you described.
>>
>>43705966
>I'm telling you in what situations it's been considered acceptable to make multiple jumps.

And since we both agreed I need to talk to Red I don't see the point in repeating yourself.

>There's a lot more than a 'race choice' that distinguishes those jumps

And do you think that playing entirely different races with technologies, cultures, and options is not a tangible enough of a difference?

>Preeeeetty sure that competition and including options just because they weren't in another version of the same setting are actually impossible in most jumps. Those problems I mentioned are largely exclusive or magnified by the situation you described.

Or completely avoidable. A asgard chaaracter would never have to run into the SGC, and if he did, so how is that going to make the jumps competative and redundant?
>>
>>43705966
>>43705910

Just dropping in here to say this, but
I think another jump would be fine if it were sufficiently different enough to count as its own jump, offering a variety of different options with no or very little overlap.
Some people are going to think that's not possible, and some are. I think I would need to see a draft first to make a decision on my own.
Not fully priced out perks or anything like that, but more of a general "here are the backgrounds and here are what I thought the trees would be modeled after and here are some ideas for items or drawbacks", like a storyboarded version of a jump. And then I could make a call on whether it's unique enough or not.

Also, probably should go ahead and ask Red what she thinks, but other people have already expressed that idea.
>>
>>43705880
>>43705898
Terran Starcraft jumpmaker here, I think it was actually dirge that asked about it first. Anyway I had originally stated not too long after I made the jump somewhere I think between threads 30 and 60 that I wouldn't mind anyone else making starcraft jumps based on the zerg or protoss.
>>
>>43706014
>And since we both agreed I need to talk to Red I don't see the point in repeating yourself.

>And do you think that playing entirely different races with technologies, cultures, and options is not a tangible enough of a difference?
Unless this is reflected in more than just a race choice, I'd say no.

>so how is that going to make the jumps competative and redundant?

Since your here I have a few questions about the Persona jump.

Do the first ten Book of the Month club books lose their 'you gain all five 100 cp abilities' benefits if you don't read them in time, or is that just an example of how much work is required?

Can companions gain the benefit of reading them?

Do evokers just make it easier to summon a persona, or do they also function as a way to grant people outside the jump persona powers like with psychologist?

Do the evokers have plums of dusk(a.k.a. a piece of Nyx's corpse/body) powering them like in canon(or at least according to one of the side books if you don' accept that as canon), or do they instead function on jump-chan fiat? I'm mostly curious because a plum of dusk seems like it would be an interesting thing to try to research(with proper precautions), but it's also a piece of a sleeping eldritch abomination's 'corpse'.

If you have Self-Awareness and Hidden Depths does this make your second persona also awakened?

Are there any chances of running into non wildcard multi-persona users like the ones from the first two(technically three if you count persona 2 as two games) persona games that used demon contacts, or did the outcome of those events basically cause that power to go away?
>>
>>43707239

>>
>>43707331

Not sure how I missed the e twice, but yes that.
>>
>>43705348

>>
>>43707243
It's intended to be the amount of work required. If you read all the books you get in Persona you get the perks, regardless of when. As for Companions - I hadn't thought about that. I'm going to say yes and no - they only have their special properties for the first person to read all of them.

Evokers can grant people Persona out-of-Jump. They work by Jump-chan fiat - I actually didn't know about Plumes of Dusk when I designed the Jump.

I forget what I decided about Self-Awareness and Hidden Depths. I'll go ahead and say that both are Awakened, and when you get them to Ultimate, you can instead keep both at Awakened and have your Ultimate be a third Persona (like Orpheus/Thanatos/Messiah)

I leave anything related to Multi-Persona users to you. I'd say no, given that we haven't seen anyone besides a Wild Card or Assistant capable of using multiple Persona since 2, but I don't know what'll happen in P5.
>>
>>43706056
>Responding to your points?

I think you might be confused because you're not actually responding to my points.

Look we have two issues here, Red's consent which we've both agreed is important. The other however is your believe that redundant jumps are not legit jumps and can't be done. I've brought up other jumps done as examples rebutting your statement. You then rebuttal those examples with "they were given consent" which in no way actually confront the issue.

>Unless this is reflected in more than just a race choice, I'd say no.

Again two entire jumps in the same setting primarily based on race choices.

>You brought up a general situation about multiple jumps for a setting. I mentioned general problems with that. This is why I separated that reply out from the rest.

Then why can't you separate consent from your statements that redundant jumps are unworkable?
>>
>>43707738
Well, everyone in the party (including the Wild Cards, they got downgraded) got to have one main Persona and one secondary Persona in Shadows of the Labyrinth. But that's a different continuity than the other games, and even in the game the only reason it's happening is because of weird metaphysical bullshit, so it's not really representative of the state of the Wild Card post-P2.
