So what are the limits of the Hero of a Thousand Faces from Negima? Could it be used to replicate a Noble Phantasm, for example?

Overall Plan: I guess I’ll go around and be an advisor, leave statues of an old man. Since I’m going to shapeshift into the form of an old man generally. Might end up meeting with Kratos since he’s supposed to be less dickish in the Epilogue timeline. Help him out a bit but generally be careful, I don’t want him to try rearing my head off after all.

Vampires, Undead beasts, Dragons, Spiders, ghosts. Mostly any DnD monsters that have a females.
It's a drawback do not expect anything good from ravenloft since most things there are either neutral or evil.
>>
>>43649075
Well, there's D&D jumps and all jumps derived and ancestral. Lord of the Rings, most other fantasy jumps, etc. God of War or Xena have their share of greek monsters, so have fun with that. Just about every video game derived jump will have tons of monsters, including literally every Final Fantasy, Mario, Kirby, etc... Bloodborne, Dark Souls, Secret of Evermore, etc, etc, etc... there's quite a lot in Inuyasha... some exotic ones in Star Wars and Star Trek... the list really does go on and on... and on... and on...

Considering that it literally hates everything, finds humans disgusting, and wants to kill them all? I think only someone of complete moral bankruptcy like Val could manage it. Or possibly Antispiral, who is not as murderous, but is far enough removed from humanity. And he has some harem perks in the wings from before he went Antispiral.

Rule of Thumb: 682 is immune to everything you can think of, and if by some miracle you counter it with some sort of absolute power, it will develop an immunity. It will then attempt to murderize you and everything in the same continent as you. See: Any and all test logs for it.
>>
>>43649075
For the sake of that drawback I would define a monster as one of two things or possibly both.
A monster is an Intelligent nonhuman entity or they are a intelligent malevolent entity.
So not only could you attract fantasy races like elves you could also attract human psychopaths like Hannibal Lector. So don't think you are safe in all those worlds that you would be safe in the more normal worlds. It just means the monsters are harder to spot.

A reminder that despite their waifu'ing of 682 and insistence on it's abilities, acid is the primary containment mechanism.

>>43649723
Is it super-duper acid?
>>
>>43649777
Once you go up you will never come down acid.
>>
>>43649723
While people do wank 682 about as hard as one would expect them to do their dicks, the acid has an actual reason for working.

That is, it's strong enough to impair it, but not strong enough to actually harm it. Meaning that it cannot adapt to it.

Question semi-related to the current conversation but unrelated to waifuing: what happens if you throw 682 into the sun? Does it adapt? Do you eventually have a little lizard wandering around on top of a giant molten ball of fire being pissed off and ineffectual? Can it do anything after that?

>>
>>43650720
682 has been wanked so hard by the editors of SCP-wiki that it can survive complete and utter annihilation, and if sent to another universe it simply rips its' way back.
>>
>>43650728
>Rips it's way back

>>
>>43650749
Dear Universe 5802-Sigma-Blue-Romeo;

It's your problem now, suckers.
>>
>>43650728
Given that Jumping is moving between "settings" which sometimes have individual multiverses (like Marvel, which has other worlds you couldn't open a portal to in DBZ or 40k), wouldn't coming back to kill you be much harder than coming back from another dimension? Jumping is another level of wanking. 628 vs Jumpchan?

>>43650749
If I remember correctly, they sent it there with a guy who phases into other universes. The other universe sent it back somehow with a note saying "not my problem." So theoretically, you CAN get rid of it that way. You need to know nobody will send it back.
>>
>>43650744
>>43650743
With how wanked it is, wouldn't be surprising if the universe itself tried killing 682, and 682 adapts a claw to slice through reality and go home.
>>
>>43650720
Take a shot, because once more Worm has the answer. It's better, in fact. Quantum Evolution makes you reflexively adapt to any stimulus so fast that it can come into effect before you're actually hurt. It only gets better over time, constantly evolving to fit any escalating scenario. You could probably go up against 682 in a fair fight.

>>43650749
The people in other universes who don't like it when unkillable murder beasts get dumped on their laps.
>>
>>43650779
Thanks. Quantum Evolution sounds fun. How far can it escalate? Is that the most powerful ability from Worm? It would be scary to think 628 is a Jumper who ended their chain, and is using Quantum Evolution to stick around and live the dream of being the ultimate mary sue character.
>>
>>43650779
Won't that end like the X-Men character that gained the ability to teleport away when he had to fight the Hulk?
>>
>>43650814
Theoretically it could mutate the Jumper until they don't look human and 682 won't want to kill them.
>>
>>43650810
Quantum Evolution is Crawler's power.

Crawler was, indeed, a parahuman whose primary motivation was to keep getting into fights so he could achieve his perfect form.

It is not the most powerful ability, either in terms of firepower (Legend's lasers, Sundancer's mini-sun, Flechette's Sting), defense (Siberian, Alexandra, Gray Boy's time loops) or utility (still needs some time to adapt to a given change, as compared to Echidna's clone spawning or implicitly Narwhal's forcefields).

However, it is definitely a huge threat to the parahuman community because of how much of an all-rounder the power is. The limit of Crawler's-a very experienced shard user's-adaptations seemed to be matter transmutation, since they eventually iced him by daring him to tank one of Bakuda's bombs that apparently turned him into inorganic metal.
>>
>>43650810
Well, it's based on the character Crawler, who eventually got to the point that he was so durable that even transdimensional blasts of warped space didn't hurt him. He was only killed by using a method of attack so novel that he had never encountered it before, and that killed him in one hit so he had no chance to adapt (specifically, he was turned to glass). But Quantum Evolution is better, since it works predictively, so you might be able to survive even that. It also allows your brain to regenerate, which is something powers in Worm usually don't do since the brain is what the shard uses to track you and note that you need to be regenerated. Add to that that you can consciously trigger the adaptation instead of waiting for something to hurt you, and it becomes pretty damn powerful.
>>
>>43650840
It's based of Crawler's, but doesn't it activate preemptively while his was as he's being hurt?
>>
>>43650853
>Your body exists in a perpetual state of quantum uncertainty, and suddenly warps and evolves based on the stimulus around you to better fit your needs and desires, primarily survival

>The nature of this power means you can casually switch back to your base form, and regenerate at high speeds. Retaining a change will result in its constant refinement and enhancement, the effort and energy that would be spent on adapting instead being constantly funneled into improvement

>You can exert conscious control over your power’s changes, either total or simply guiding it in your preferred directions. Your power can evolve anything physically possible for a biological system, although its an admittedly generous definition. Your power is a lot like Crawler’s, you’re just not permanently mutated. You do not possess a core, relying instead on your regeneration and adaptation, though you’ll never suffer negative effects from needing to regenerate your brain or similar issues

I dunno, the wording seems to indicate it's still more of a reactionary power, it just gives you more fine control than Crawler
>>
>>43650853
Yep. It also triggers for things other than damage. It adapts you to any scenario where you need improved biological fitness. And even better, you can set goals for it. Tell it "make me better at doing X" and as long as X is something that can be enhanced by physical tools it will get to work. Quantum Evolution is pretty awesome.
>>
>>43650884
Isn't there an example of growing armour before a bullet gets to you?

Also, you can control it, which is massively useful.
>>
>>43650905
Yep.
>Falling off a building would result in you growing wings, bullets find themselves flattening on bio-armor that wasn't there when the weapon was fired, and strikes in combat will find natural weaponry perfectly suited to their target shaped by the time they land.

also

>Retaining a change will result in its constant refinement and enhancement, the effort and energy that would be spent on adapting instead being constantly funneled into improvement. Issues like muscle memory and being unused to your forms changes aren't a problem, you are able to use them instinctively.

It is very useful. Not the ultimate do-anything power, but it has a lot of applicability to any situation in which being an inhuman monster isn't a detriment.
>>
>>43650905
Huh. So there is. I guess it's a little unclear if the power triggers (no pun intended) automatically or if it's something you consciously activate? But yeah, either way, once the adaptations come into play you have much more finesses than canon Crawler ever demonstrated.

Though who knows, canon Crawler wanted to be perfect harder than Abridged Cell so he might've kept everything vaguely compatible for as long as possible.
>>
>>43650916
>Not the ultimate do-anything power
While true, you have to think that all of the worm powers are the results of shards, which are sort of organic. I'm not saying you can do all that stuff but you have an incredibly wide range within what 'organics' can do Worm-wise.
>>
>>43650884
Now combine it with Anomalous Physiology from the SCP jump itself. "No negative effects from needing to regenerate your brain" combined with "losing your brain doesn't kill you, just paralyze you" and you're effectively unkillable to physical damage. There are still plenty of non-physical things that can kill you, in both Worm and the wider multiverse, so you're not truly immortal. But it's still a pretty great combo.
>>
>>43650916
What is the ultimate do-anything power? My goal is to win endgame Gurren Lagann by no-selling the Anti-Spiral without spiral energy, then convincing him I can stop the spiral nemesis in the same way.
>>
>>43650953
I'm fond of Imaginary Form, personally. "Can be literally anything you can properly visualize" has some interesting applications when combined with magic. Sure, it's limited by size, but that's why you get size-boosting magic.
>>
>>43650952
For even more madness: Get a companion who also has Anomalous Physiology. Take them to Black Bullet, import them, apologize for the mental trauma, and then have both of you take Sharing Is Caring targeted at the other. Take them to Worm, one of you gets Quantum Evolution and one of you gets Alexandria Package. Share them with each other using your Sharing Is Caring slots. Quantum Evolution plus Anomalous Physiology means that physical damage can't kill you. Alexandria Package means that ONLY physical damage can kill you. The only thing that can stop you is something turning off your powers, and even that might fail once you leave Worm if your powers becoming internalized instead of shard-based means that they're protected by Alexandria Package's no-selling.
>>
>>43651025
The companion looks at you with a troubled, uncomfortable glare like a man who must explain to his paraplegic daughter why her disability is no excuse for burning down the dance academy out of spite and asks:

"Anon, why didn't you go to Medaka Box and get Lip Service or to Storm Hawks and get The Binding instead?"
>>
>Worm releases the redone Worm Jump
>It has Marquis Power
>Take it
>Go to Naruto, Take Kaguya Bloodline
>Take all other Bone Manipulating Powers in any jump
>Become the King of Boners
>>
>>43651048
Because he doesn't know what either of those settings are perhaps? Some people don't jump to places they're not familiar with or interested in. What they see is what they get.
>>
>>43651048
"Lip Service would leave you unprotected as it transfers powers instead of shares them, and the wording for The Binding implies it only affects magic powers. Look, it will be fine, once we're done here in Black Bullet all those mental resilience perks I've given you will kick in and you'll feel a lot better. Hell, once we pass through Worm you'll get any lingering crazy taken right out of you. It's twenty years of life being shitty, max, and then we're indestructible. I have to go through this too, you know."

Preeeetty sure Alexandria does not in fact make you immune to anything but physical damage, just that you won't suffer from internal damage like someone burning you inside out
>>
>>43651100
This. Canon Alexandria got her eye wrecked by the Siberian. And later got ripped apart by Scion.

...

...granted, it does say volumes about the level of durability we're talking here that Scion and the Siberian are being brought up. More to the point, Taylor was able to suffocate her handily with several swarms of bugs.
>>
>>43651094
Yes, but with the caveat that it requires you to actually know what you're doing. You can't just tell your power "turn me into something that can warp gravity", but if you had knowledge of Mass Effect technology you could have it replicate those effects for you. It's a power that synergizes very well with any abilities that are based in knowledge rather than intrinsic power.

Canon Alexandria is invulnerable to, seemingly, anything but "absolute powers". The ones that effect someone across every Dimension/Universe the Entities have access to.

So she "can't" be damaged except by those. The problem is, she still needs to breath, and you can fill her lungs with something without wounding her.

If my entire chain was built around mechs, intelligence perks, and infinite sources of power like Mantra, could I go Demonbane?
>>
>>43651100
Well, it enforces the Manton Effect, so powers can't directly affect you. So, yes, I was exaggerating somewhat when I said "only physical damage can kill you", but it does prevent you from being transmuted or spatially warped or whatever. It fills in the gaps in the protection that Quantum Evolution and Anomalous Physiology give you, is my point. Though taking a second look at Anomalous Physiology I see that it fails if you have no parts of you as large as a cell, so in retrospect it's not actually perfect regeneration. Enough energy will still kill you.
>>
>>43651130
Quite possibly. On its own the size limitation will keep you from being Demonbane, but I think you can probably get around it by throwing in stuff from other universes. Mantra will definitely help, at least.
>>
>>43651150
>>43651130

Wait, are we talking base form Demonbane or EGD?

Because I'm pretty sure EGD is literally infinite kinds of omnipotent and could only be vaguely threatened by some equally absurd absolute effect like the Unconquered Sun's fate hax or Azathoth waking up.
>>
>>43651184
EGD's not omnipotent. Wasn't able to kill either Azathoth or Yog Sothoth and was said that if Az woke up, even EGD would be erased.
>>
>>43651184
I was talking about base form.
>>
>>43651184
It's a common misconception, but Elder God Demonbane isn't technically infinitely powerful because it had to seal Azathoth since it was unable to kill it and YS was apparently "Too large" for it to kill. It's nigh omnipotent (And so close as to be indistinguishable outside of Az himself or other 'true omnipotents' like the One Above All really)

Sorta. While eh does have that "Summon Alternate Demonbane" thing, it obviously must be an exaggerated thing because he was apparently unable to summon one capable of killing the two biggest Outer Gods. Likewise, the infinity things are either slight exaggerations or dealing with things like how there's multiple levels of infinity and EGD just isn't as high as Az or Yog.
>>
>>43651206
Most of that's either from Nasu-esque words in the LN or people exaggerating over time. It's obscenely powerful, just not absolutely powerful. Damn close though. Er, for a given measure of how close you can get to infinity without being infinite.

If you have that much science, you'd be better off building an interdimensional raygun, blasting the Scion avatar and ripping a hole through him to scorch to death the main body. Instead of engaging him in fisticuffs.

It's how they killed him in canon, after all.

>>
>>43651316
West Wing has a perk that explicitly gets someone to listen to you and consider what you've said, no matter who they are. I wrote that Jump more than a year ago. SCION, YOU'VE BEEN OUT MULTIVERSED.
>>
>>43651323
It was both.

They made him super sad until he stopped fighting back, meanwhile Taylor organized every Tinker on Earth to build a superweapon. Then she got Armsmaster to blast him into oblivion, teraing through his avatar and the dimensional barriers hiding his true form to kill him off for good.

Also Flechette shanked him a few times, and it was implied Sting weakened the defences Scion held up to protect his true body due to how it works.
>>

Alright, then, cool. So all you have to do is wait for him to show up at an Endbringer fight and then have a chat with a space-whale.

Right then. What about the Endbringers? Several biggatons builds I've seen, and ones that need the Sting power Flechette has (Data Drain, or Blue Magic, choices choices). And they have weird powers.

They start out at three, then two more replace the dead ones, and there are supposed to be 20-ish. Then again, that info was from an unreliable source.

Also, apparently if I deal with that Endy guy, the Endbringers stop being jerks?

An Offer He Can’t Refuse: 200 CP, Discount Drop-In

You’re very good at sending messages. Almost magical, in fact. Once a month, you can send
someone a message that gets to them no matter where they are. You can’t actually send a bomb,
that’d be too easy; but a disarmed bomb that makes sure they know that you know where they live?

They won’t forget that in a hurry. Maybe your people are good at getting in where they aren’t
supposed to be, or maybe there’s something else going on...

I like using the perk to send messenger pigeons to space stations and the like.
>>
>>43651462
Three more replace the dead one, technically. But Tohu and Bohu usually are a package deal. And dealing with Eidolon's issues probably won't make the Endbringers stop bringing the end, just slow it down seriously.
>>
>>43651462
Remove Eidolon and more endbringers stop being a problem
>>
>>43651462
We don't know if killing Eidolon will stop more Endbringers from waking up, but killing him won't stop Behemoth, Leviathan, and Simurgh from smashing things. If anything it might remove their limits and they might attack more often.

Best plan is to work with Flechette, the Canon Character who has the Sting power, to kill them. Find their core, have her use her power on an object, smash core.
>>
>>43651462
What about them? Considering Scion beat the living shit out of them without sustaining noticeable damage, anything that could oneshot him could oneshot them. Also, don't bother talking-the only one who talks back uses subliminal communication and precognition as a weapon.

The information was from Eden in Scion's flashback so-yeah, pretty much.

Not quite. Think of a killer robot who's just lost its directive to kill all humans. They don't suddenly just become all sunshine and lolipops; there's nowhere near enough information to accurately guage their intentions, but if Taylor's intuition is right they're looking out for number one above all else.

Just finished a mission in Legacy of the Void and had a prompt to visit a room on the Spear of Adun (protoss campaign's equivalent to Kerrigan's leviathan or Raynor's Hyperion) called a 'Solar Core.'

Yes, especially when you consider how unstable a star can get vs a series of regulated reactors.

But god damn it's so COOL.

>teraing through his avatar
>teraing

Taylor going too far, as usual.
>>
>>43651525

It's done in canon, though via Chevalier's ability to dimensionally-overlay the properties of similar weapons.

So he wields a lightweight sword, and has a hanger with a giant superdense blade, a super-light one, etc.

So it should work fine, though the really good stuff is near their cores and may experience a vibrant existence failure without an active core.
>>
>>43652857
Oh lawd, that error.

But ironically enough, yes: The last few chapters of Worm can be aptly summed up as "Taylor goes too far, and then goes even further"

And indeed, the tinkertech energy weapon was kind of a last minute plot device without any foreshadowing which realistically shouldn't have worked under the circumstances.

Jump 8: Van Helsing

Great Britain (Lake District)
32 years old
Mad Doctor 50
Weakness Expansion 650
Infectious Bite 750
Crazed Physician
Deranged Alchemist 900
Lightning is My Art 1200
The Laws Are Mine 1500
Research Notes 1600
The Lord's Castle 1800
Professor Anneliese Grigobretz
Solar Weakness 1700
Explosive Carriages 1400
All Is Lost 1000

An evil run wouldn't be complete without a castle and Van Helsing is really the place for that. Combine it with more science and a jump that really doesn't incentivise heroism it's good as an earlyish jump. Combines with Archer for some truly horrendous cyborg, robot and fleshmonster making.

I actually always choose Mad Doctor so this really isn't much of a departure. Bad Karma run is really just a movement from mostly amoral to entirely so. Usually it'd be me trying to make a small community of humanoid monsters out of some of the huddled masses and making my castle a nice place to live for them while being generally too much to deal with. In this one though it's more or less the same plan but with a more flamboyant approach to monster making and less a community and more a ravening horde of semi-loyal underlings.

Chose Grigobretz as I'm not keeping whoever I take here anyway so it might as well be somebody I can learn to make electric people from.

Started making this build while watching Penny Dreadful, at one point thought it'd be a good jump and then realised it would be pretty much exactly the same jump as this one.

Overlord
Overlord 2
23 years old
Overlord 100
Intimidating Persona
Asskicking Equals Authority 700
Group Dynamics 1000
Evil Power 1600
Flag of the Overlord
Overlord Gear
Ruined Tower
Basic Minions
The Ire of a Goddess 1300
Heroic Party 1000

Triple capstones accounting for basically all of my CP use. All of them are pretty great really, shame I hit the cap without exploiting the discount for the Dark General but I guess I can pick up some tactics elsewhere.

Had a choice between Overlord and Overlad for the free perk and I decided to go for more intimidating rather than more endurance as it seems like there's more of a boost to be had there. If you can swing a sword all day you can't become any better at swinging a sword all day whereas you can become better at being intimidating.

Evil Power I don't quite understand, not sure whether each time you do it you choose whether the power converts to physical or magical strength or whether you just choose one or the other when you purchase the perk. Going magic most of the time or all of the time depending on which of these is the case. Pretty much only got Disney and Kirby magic at the moment but it's actually pretty dark in both cases so can probably get a reasonable boost.

All the elves and a bunch of heroes are against me which isn't ideal so I'm probably have to convert my minions into laser wielding, electrocuting behemoths. Least I've got the foundation for some shock troops.

It'd be nice if everyone jumping there spent a little time on the wiki to acquaint themselves with some SCPs. It's asking way too much for them to read all of it, but you'd think people would look into some if they're going.
>>
>>43655458
A lot of them are just weird, though. Like 686. Seriously what is up with that thing.
>>
>>43655458
A lot of those don't really have any uses though. I haven't read a great many but I have read enough to know that SCP that are actually useful are pretty damned rare, and often thought poorly of on the site because it brings up the question as to why they aren't being used. If they are being used, then it takes a lot of work to describe how, and then you also can't really make something that can be used against other SCP. Then there is the fact that SCP isn't exactly about interesting anomalous things, it's about bizarre, often dangerous anomalous things.
>>
>>43655283
That seems to be more a limitation with the system of magic than a fault of Voldemort alone. But it probably would have been a good idea to have some sort of backup system in place in case he did get off'd, in order to expedite the process of acquiring a new body. The only real justification I have for not doing that is he just straight up didn't know it was going to be that bad, since no one had ever done it before.

Damned if I remember which one, but there's at least one other SCP that's basically a stranded fairy, and quite a few SCPs portraying what are clearly isolated communities of (un)seelie preying on humans in the guise of benign theme parks/festivals.

There's no real canon save that which can be inferred from multiple SCPs, but the overall implication seems to be that the bigfoots overthrew the Fae and cast them out of Earth so they could rule it, before they in turn were overthrown by humanity

I largely ignored the big bads. As far as I'm concerned, that setting is completely fucked and beyond saving. It exists only as a curiosity to be pondered and mined for resources before it inevitably implodes in on itself.
It doesn't matter.

I spent a lot of my time in the Wanderer's Library or else in the Imaginary Library in Argentina. Me and Embee and some automated support systems spent most of my ten years frantically copying down every book we could find. Considering this could be done almost instantly per book, we got quite an impressive number. Of course, for the most part we went for quantity over quality, so some of these things are... not particularly useful. But hey, at least my personal library is all the more robust.

Other than that I messed around with 682, sent the occasional robot squadron to try to steal from the Foundation (god they hated me), and organized the occasional small-scale terrorist attack against the GOP, because fuck those guys.

Admittedly I don't know everything about the SCP world, but I also know I'm not interested in trying to save a broken world.
I just want to survive.

>>
>>43656883
Yeah, that's why I specifically bought the memetic shielding perk. You think I'd do that crap otherwise? Well, maybe in the Imaginary Library, that seems to be mostly benign.
As for reality warping, well, the copying process is instant and done through computers. I'm... PRETTY sure that anything copied is either going to A) lose its power in the transfer, or B) be transcribed as decipherable gibberish. Probably.
At any rate, if a book starts growling or standing near it makes colours start tasting weird, probably don't mess with that one. Or maybe get a disposable robot to try and then study its reaction first. I dunno. It kindof requires some common sense first and foremost, y'know?
Good thing I took that perk from Changeling.

I would like to note that the evolution goes away with time, similar to 682, and you can only evolve so much so quickly so it's unlikely you could react to something as complex as a bomb that turns you into glass. While you may be able to keep an evolved form or power, and continue to hone it, it's at the cost of your reflexive evolution. It's actually weaker than Crawler's power by a decent bit, because crawler was nearly broken as a character.

>>
>>43657082
To be fair Crawler had been throwing himself into life-endangering situations for years, maybe decades, and stockpiled up an aggregate of useful mutations-perhaps some more subtle than the tentacle-lion he appears to be. The difference between you and Crawler is you haven't automatically got years of mutation to hone your adaptations' prowess.

In the spirit of actually having an exchange, may I posit that the Civilian background makes sense from the perspective of a noncombatent who has honed their skills over milennia, like the minmaxers the Eldar are?

Think about it-the other backgrounds make sense because they focus on specific things. The Seers on psychic power, the Warriors on combat, the Outsiders on exploration; the Drop-In equivalent has a grab bag of thematic and oddball tricks. But the Civilian's focus is on infrastructure, culture and technology-they're very lacking in personal self-defence prowess or psychic skill from the perspective of a standalone jump. So I would say it's still balanced because you still need the time and resources to put together the stuff you know about.

TIMEWARP!

Decided to do this bad karma run properly and do a pokemon first build for it.

Initially it was Underworld first as I was just going to make a rolled run until I got bored but I had a better idea so I'm taking this more seriously. Also could do with explaining the run slightly. The plan is effectively still to play as myself, not myself as a wacky supervillain, but to start with a lot of jumps that in some way incentivize doing the wrong thing. For the most part the choices made in terms of builds are still whatever I think is best in the jump but in some jumps that is the morally questionable stuff and if you get to those jumps early enough and often enough you'll probably end up as a bad guy.

Will probably do a righteous run after I've had enough with this one.

Jump 0: Pokemon

Kalos
16 years old
Small Town 50
Houndour 100 (common in route 10)
Physical Fitness
Aura 400
Savant 1000
Champ in the Making 1300
Swarmed 1200
Marked 1000

Similar build to usual but not the same. Realised the other day how good Aura is, on the whole I'm genuinely not sure which is better out of it and Psionics. Don't like Lucario very much so maybe that's why I didn't pay much attention to it but sensing emotions is pretty great. Good for poker playing.

16 years old is a blessing. Small Town is a new one as well as I nearly always go Drop-In but decided to sacrifice Survival Training for Physical Fitness, a home and a broader choice of starter.

Chose Houndour because I really like Houndour and not at all because it's an edgy bad guy choice to make. Would usually choose Squirtle but there really is a lot to say for Houndour - they start with Ember, have a mega evolution and they're a dark pokemon which I could never really take in previous runs due to going with Psionic and Silenced (reasoning that I can't speak to Dark pokemon in their heads with Psionics). Could have taken Litwick and rolled as I couldn't decide.

Hey, Many? If I'm reading Solitaire correctly, I lose psychic powers from the Eldar Jump but I'd keep my psychic powers from other Jumps? Meaning I could still be an Alpha Level Psyker AND a Blank?
>>
>>43658402
It makes sense from a civilian perspective, yes. It would make sense that they focus on bonesinging and science.

But the other backgrounds except for Outsider don't have any 800cp perks. Pre-Fall science makes more sense as a capstone instead (and i understand that comorragh has the same thing, but I don't believe that was discounted), and it just feels like the other backgrounds could use some awesome tricks to make up for it.

I agree that Civilian's perks make a lot of sense. It just needs to be brought in with the other backgrounds, or more preferably, vice versa.

You do realize it's an incomplete jump? Bonesinging is a damn cool and unique thing the Craftwordlers do, it'd suck ass to cut it just because the jump is incomplete but you're trying to balance it anyway by giving us a shitty duplicate perk from another jump.

I didn't say to cut it out. Please stop stuffing words into people's mouths.

I'm saying pre-fall science is worth more than bonesinging, or if it's going to be popular then make it undiscounted with a slight price cut so everyone can get it equally.
>>
>>43658502
Way of the Laughing God has Solitaire as an 800 CP perk; I assumed that as a WIP Manny would eventually think up 800 CP perks for all the backgrounds. Note that Path of the Seer has "Farseer" down at the bottom without any description; I presumed that would be the 800 CP slot for Seers.

Considering that, I'm pretty optimistic the finished jump will have relative parity between all backgrounds

>>43658488
Speaking of which-I was told Solitaires have stronger Blank powers, but how is that even possible? My understanding is Blanks can stop Greater Gaemons from existing by standing too close to them, and I've yet to dig up anything in lore to show the more psychically attuned Eldar have anything similar.

>>43658469
Wasn't that dependant on the Data Integration Entity's infrastructure, though? I figured alone, a Yukiesque origin would only be capable of lesser feats sans transcendent cosmic intelligence.

I think anon might have been suggesting putting pre-Fall science in as the Civilian capstone and sticking Bonesinging somewhere else. Presumably Seer.
I don't think that's a good idea, though, pre-Fall science made sense in Commorragh since the Dark Eldar kept a lot of that stuff, but the Craftworlders lost pretty much all of it and don't really focus on that area.
>>
>>43658582
Ah well, hopefully that anon has a clearer head tomorrow and just ignores that type.

Problem with civilian route is Bonesinger is powerful. However do note that it'll probably be a undiscounted perk.

Way I'm thinking of doing it is that the Soltiare, Extarct, Farseer, Bonesinger would be "Lost to the path" undiscounted perk.

Depending on your origin you'll get that perk. Sorta like how Red does her Capstone enchancer perk. Instead it'll give you a powerful perk,l related to your origin.

This represents you unable to tear yourself away from the path and has opened up something worthwhile. Could this change? Sure but for now I want everyone to calm down and let's not be so hostile.

It's still WIP, and I'm pretty mercurial so it might chance before the jump is finished. Just everyone hold your horses, and slow down.

New Topic:
-Does Jumper you have Kleptomania? Wanting to take everything not nailed down for possibility of it being useful later?
>>
>>43658752
Well, taking it out makes sense to me at least now given the lore reasoning. 40K redux doesn't have a complete knowledge of all Dark Age tech perk, after all-just what the Adeptus Mechanus has a handle on
>>
>>43658825
Many, if a perk is undiscounted an origin doesn't 'get' it. No discounts, it belongs to nobody.

Bonesinger isn't worth 800 undiscounted. It should stay 800 and get a discount, just like the other backgrounds should have a discounted 800 perk.
>>
>>43658825
>not be so hostile.

You're asking the impossible, man.
>>
>>43658595
>Way of the Laughing God has Solitaire as an 800 CP perk
Honestly, the non-bonesinger capstones seem kind of... not great at the moment, really. The combat side of Solitaire is pretty decent, but 800CP worth? The blank side is ok, but blocking out the free psyker abilities you'd otherwise get and any other psyker abilities you'd want to buy, many of which are pretty damn fantastic... that's a pretty significant drawback. I mean, the 800CP perk actively cancels out the 200CP perk from the same origin. That's... not a great design for the tree.

The Outsider capstones blocking you from other capstones doesn't seem like a great idea either. Yes, if you get lost on the Path of the Outsider you're not going to be going down the other Paths, but the same is true for getting lost on any of the Paths, and there's nothing stopping you from having, say, walked the Path of the Bonesinger before you walked the Path of the Outsider. Unlike the Solitaire, which would actually make sense, since it's the Drop In.
Unless the order you buy capstones in matters, so you can buy Bonesinger -> Pathfinder but not Pathfinder -> Bonesinger, in which case what's the point in that? Does anyone seriously track that, and is there anything stopping you from just switching the order?
>>
>>43658825
>Sorta like how Red does her Capstone enchancer perk.
That perk lets you buy out of origin you know. That's my biggest issue with your idea too, I don't WANT to get locked into a perk based on my background, let alone for way too much cost.
>>
>>43658825

>>
>>43658825
So, if you want to be any of the origins, you lose 800cp and take (one of) the capstone(s) for that origin?

>>
>>43658825
>Does Jumper you have Kleptomania? Wanting to take everything not nailed down for possibility of it being useful later?
Everything? No. I try not to magpie too hard, but I have made off with my share of stuff. I'm more likely to try to copy it or reverse engineer it in place so I can remake it later on my own.
>>
>>43658847
Anon. The pricing isnt final, it probably won't be 800cp no discount. More around 600cp. The reason behind having it way I described is because there's no Farseer Exarchs Solitaries. Once you're lost to a path you're unable to leave.

For instance becoming an Exarch is to become so intune with the hatred and aggressiveness of the Warrior Paths that you can't remove your "warmask". You're unable to file away all that aggression like Most can.

You can rail against the system, but nothing will be the same. Trying to pick up a chisel and carve a statue, in essence trying switch paths. You'll be unable to really do much if you weren't already once upon a time an Artisian.

It's still being worked on in meanwhile I'll try to get more done in near future.

Anon, it's how the Eldar Paths work. You're freely able to use switch Paths multiple times. However when you go down the rabbit hole, there's no turning back. You can't decide "Oh yeah going to be a Farseer and in a century I think I'll join the circus." It's more like being a Farseer is what you are, you'll still be able to call on the skills and abilities of your past. However you'll never not be a farseer until you die (or in Jumper's case jump out).
>>
>>43659055
You can still buy other powers. However once you bought the "Lost To The Path" you're unable to buy it again. So you can't be a Farseer Bonesinger Exarch of Striking Scorpions.

You can be on Path of Civilian and buy path of seer stuff. Just not buying Farseer.
>>
>>43658997
>You'll be unable to really do much if you weren't already once upon a time an Artisian.
Well, that's great, but what if I was once upon a time a Bonesinger? More to the point, what's the point of putting the Spirit Seer perk, the "you can use the spirits of the dead to animate Wraithbone Constructs" perk, in a seperate tree to the one you're going to need to take to make Wraithbone Constructs to use post-jump?
>>
>>43659149
Why?
>>
>>43659228
I think the answer is supposed to be >>43659076, basically. Not sure how I feel about it, though.
>>
>>43659149
>So you can't be a Farseer Bonesinger Exarch of Striking Scorpions.
Ok, but what about a Farseer (ex-)Bonesinger, or a(n ex-)Bonesinger Exarch? Bonesinging is just the standard art of the Path of Shaping, not the Lost On The Path expression of it.

For that matter, what if I want to take Civilian origin to represent my long Eldar life spent walking various art-y paths, grabbing a bunch of perks related to that, and then take Exarch because the woman I loved scorned me, I got mad and joined the Scorpions and then got stuck? This is canon character territory, and not a particularly powerful expression of it at that, but it's locked out because "the paths don't work like that!"?
>>
So, in the fallout jump how exactly does the power tone-down works?
If i'm capable of teleporting anywhere at will for example i can now teleport only a few meters or i get limited usages of the full skill? are those things up to me?
is it possible to use my tech skills to optimize the energy weapons?
do i still have access to the warehouse?
If my pet dragon can go 12 rounds with a deathclaw does it mean i can too melee if i'm more powerful than my dragon?
>>
>>43659228
Because that's exactly how Eldar work in the universe? If you're a Farseer/Exarch/Pathfinder you literally cannot change and ever be anything else until you die.
>>
>>43659265
Thing is, it's a canonical explanation for a background that is basically a canonical insert. Can't win them all. This isn't even Many being spiteful or anything, he's just following what the setting dictated.
>>
>>43659228
>>43659269
Pretty sure it's just the 800 capstone that're locked out if you take one anyway. Not like there isn't precedent for it. The Darksiders jump does it too with it's captones.
>>
>>43659284
>Farseer/Exarch/Pathfinder you literally cannot change and ever be anything else until you die.
Well, that's not actually true. Hell, if a Phoenix Lord can go nuts, fight his fellows and then go join the Dark Eldar I'm pretty damn sure an Exarch or a Pathfinder can do it to.
If you're stuck on the Path, you can't leave it for another Path, but that doesn't necessarily stop you from going "fuck the Paths!" and going full Crazed Eldar.
>>
>>43659338
Darksiders let you buy cross-origin too though.
>>
>>43659370
Capstones, not cross-origin.

You can buy Demon perks as a Nefilim, yes. But no being a Rider and a whatever-the-demon-capstone is.

I think that's what Manyfist is doing here. Although if it's not, then yeah I can see the irritation.
>>
>>43659338
Except one of the capstones doesn't have that fluff reasoning, and two of them are just allegiance choices for Eldar who've said "fuck the paths" (Outsider) completely enough it's become "FUCK THE PATHS! I'm doing my own thing!" (Corsair, Pathfinder)
>>
>>43659401
What if I want their 'capstone' at the ridiculous cost of 800 points, but don't want the perks before it? I'm locked into their most expensive perk, at ZERO DISCOUNT despite wanting nothing else, incapable of being a different origin, buying stuff I want with their discount, and then buying this silly 800 point whatever.
>>
>>43659302
Oh yeah, I get that. I guess I was torn on whether that'd make choices for builds less flexible, but when you put it like that-yeah, that design makes sense.
>>
>>43659076
I have no issues with certain perks being locked if it makes sense because of the narrative.
>>
>>43659401
>I think that's what Manyfist is doing here. Although if it's not, then yeah I can see the irritation.

Well,
>>43658825
>Way I'm thinking of doing it is that the Soltiare, Extarct, Farseer, Bonesinger would be "Lost to the path" undiscounted perk.
>Depending on your origin you'll get that perk. Sorta like how Red does her Capstone enchancer perk. Instead it'll give you a powerful perk,l related to your origin
seems to be suggesting that you can only get your origin-specific one.
>>
>>43657362
Many, what exactly is the theme with the Way of the Laughing God origin? It seems rather... incoherent. And not in the way you'd expect for a Harlequin.
1 perk to make you good at teamwork, 1 to make you a physical beast, 1 to get you knowledge and 1 to remove all that teamwork, remove most/all of the psyker flavour of the Eldar jump in general and replace it with more combat? It doesn't really seem to fit the tree it's in. Might I suggest either replacing it, or adding an alternative choice, of either Troop Master (focused around boosting team mates and followers) or Shadowseer (focused around illusion and deception)? That or replacing the 200cp perk and potentially either folding the 400cp perk into the capstone or giving some reason to take it if you're taking the capstone? As it is, it seems like the capstone either directly negates or makes pointless half the tree.

Jump 10: Princess Bride

You Mock My Pain! 1300
Why Won't My Arms Move? 1000

Oh yeah and I'm also taking a lot of drawbacks that make me a jerk. Figure that's more likely after a few jumps of foul deeds. People thinking I'm a sociopath/being a sociopath seems worth 200 CP after spiking Berlin to death a couple of jumps ago.

Pretty much my usual Princess Bride build but I took a You Mock My Pain! and Why Won't My Arms Move instead of one or two of the other drawbacks and so that I could take World's Most Beautiful so I'm a compelling bastard if nothing else. Why Won't My Arms Move basically just makes me dread neck days and hope for arm days.

Going to have to rely on Gelert for a lot of stuff.

Such a great jump.

I don't think he was trying to slight the source material by commending the jump. This sort of post one-upmanship is always a little annoying.

I didn't think he was, I was trying to be funny, I obliviously failed. Calm down.

>getting rid of the World Nobles.

Did you kill the kids too or did you send them off somewhere else?
>>
>>43660711
Sent them off somewhere else
>>
>>43660711
C'mon dude, it's Justice. He does terrible things on the regular.
>>
>>43660739
There had to be at least one decent adult World Noble. What did you do to them?
>>
>>43660757
I thought that was Val?
>>
>>43660768
Yeah, but Val owns what she does. Justice pretends to live up to his name.
>>
>>43660761
Left them alive and unharmed.
I'd rather beat sense into the World Nobles than kill them to be honest.

>>43660768
People like to comment on almost everything I do that isn't perfect and say it's proof I'm as evil as Val, or Many, or Tera
>>
>>43660797
Well, you do bring it on yourself with that name. If you were Waifuanon, which is more accurate, no one would say shit. When a guy named Justiceanon regularly does unjust things? It's kinda like watching Jonah Hill call someone else chunky; you need to comment on it.
>>
>>43660837
Eh, I find the juxtaposition amusing. Kinda like when The Doctor kills someone. Also, as with the Doctor, I'm hoping Justice figures things out and resolves to live up to his name.

Always gotta hope, anon. Always gotta hope.
>>
>>43660797
They do that with me too, don't feel bad Justice.
>>
>>43660882
Well, you are the second biggest faggot here, anon. But hey, at least you aren't OP.
>>
>>43660797
You're trying to be a good guy and that's all that matters.
>>
>>43654257
Well, you can't get drugs, but do what I do, and get a soda dispenser that gives the original coca-cola formula. And then distill it a few times for the cocaine.
>>
>>43660898
Undirected hate is unbecoming anon.
>>
>>43660878
>I'm hoping Justice figures things out and resolves to live up to his name.

Hilarious

>I redeem someone evil
>JUSTICE IS EVIL, THAT PERSON SHOULD DIE

>I Kill someone evil
>JUSTICE IS EVIL! REDEMPTION SHOULD BE DONE!

I can't win with you people, so I don't try. I just try to put forth Justice as I see it. I help people, then I teach them how to help themselves.
>>
>>43660910
Undirected hate is classic anon.
>>
>>43660904
Well it was Coca Sek,Rather than proper liquid cocaine, I also picked up a Water fountain of Château d’Yquem 1787 Because It Seemed like the jumper thing to do.
>>
>>43660959
Undirected hate is dark side anon.
>>
>>43660837
Eh. I like Justice, because he's trying. Sometimes he does stuff I think is strange, but he tries, and that's more than a lot of people do. It's more than I do.

I mean, I think a big part of it is that concepts like justice are relative, based on culture, upbringing, and even personal feelings.

Considering the wide range of settings we interact with, many of which have rules that just straight up don't play nice with each other, the fact that he tries to do the right thing consistently is, I think, somewhat admirable.
Even if it is, ultimately I think, doomed to failure, because of those factors.

It's kind of a nice change from what the rest of us are doing, if nothing else.
>>
>>43661922
Plenty of anons trying to do good, most just don't feel the need to brag about it.
>>
>>43662117
Well maybe I'd like to hear stories from those anons sometimes, instead of just taking your word for it?
>>
>>43662144
Reading the thread will probably help with that. Plenty of people talk about helping others or doing good things, it's just not something that comes up as often.
>>
>>43662198
Well that's the thing then, isn't it. It doesn't come up all that often. But I like those stories. So when they show up, no matter who they're from, I'll take it.
>>
>>43662272
Then why not ask for those stories? Plenty of people respond to questions like that, so why not try seeking out those stories instead of assuming that only one anon must be any good?
>>
>>43662117
I took the name because in the early days I used to scream about JUSTICE! in all caps.
People started calling me JUSTICEanon, and I said fuck it and namefagged.

Maybe I'm not good at coming up with questions.
Maybe I'm lazy.
Maybe I'm happy enough with the situation as is, because I'm already getting what I want, and this is the most I've ever bothered to talk about it.
Why don't you ask for those stories?
Next thread.
Because this one's three threads away from falling off the board.
>>
>>43662272
I like stories as well, and it'd be nice to read more jumper tales. Like a couple threads ago when that guy posted his 40k story. Sure, it was full of canon holes, but it was a neat story. I'd like to read more stuff like that.

Stories and builds just don't seem to get much feedback, though, and I wonder if that isn't what keeps people from posting more of them more often.
