Glasgow Rangers fans, this is what SLBenfica, whom you'll be playing a friendly match with, think of you.
We're so flush with tax evasion, we've three fucking mascots. Also Rangers died m8.

Rangers were a deeply corrupt club.
>Leeds City FC

Fenian lies. What would you know ya bead rhattlers.
We Are The People. The greatest club in the world. FACT!
>according to Benfica, Porto are the 4th most corrupt club
Well I see no bias here.
>>78239702
Correct, dominating Scotland for the past 20 years has left the rest of the scottish football completely deranged.
>>78239775
Have Rangers even won the most titles in the last 20 years?
>>78239774
What's remarkable is the stupidity of slandering 15 other clubs just for the purpose of slandering Porto
>>78239775
>using tax evasion to have players you couldn't afford, just to compete with rival of better financial standing
>watch club die horribly due to reckless stewardship from all chairmen involved
>new club climbs from lowest league level and The People get misty-eyed about how they're now getting to "where they belong"
Do these fans not realise they cannot get back to a level which was artificial in the first place?
Hope honestly Benfica wins Eusebio Cup and rapes Rangers
>>78239863
the past 6 years don't count because Sevco.
>>78239937
of course not.
they don't even aknowledge they were liquidated anymore, if you listen to them they were actually relegated and unfairly 'punished' (because reasons?) that's why they were in the bottom league.
it was a conspiracy in scottish footbal, led by celtic of course, to destroy them, not their owners running them at an unsustainable level and dodging tax.
>>78239937
You can neither prove nor disprove that we would have signed those player without the use of LEGAL ebt's.
>>78240092
The subsequent collapse and liquidation of the club is the proof that you couldn't.

They existed at one time:
>Leeds City's whole league career was in the Second Division. However, during the First World War there ensued a sequence of financial irregularities, including breaking the ban on paying players during the war, that led to the club's dissolution in 1919. They were expelled from The Football League eight games into the 1919–20 season. The harsh punishment was handed down mostly because of the behaviour of the club's directors, who refused to co-operate in an FA inquiry, and refused to hand over the club's financial records.
>Port Vale took over their remaining fixtures (as well as their results up to that point). Leeds City remain the only club to be expelled from the League mid-season, and the only ones to be expelled from the League due to financial irregularities (ironically enough their successors, Port Vale nearly lost their League status for similar reasons in 1968, although they ultimately managed to retain it in an end-of-season vote among the other clubs). On 17 October 1919, an auction was held at the Metropole Hotel in Leeds, where the playing staff was auctioned off along with other assets of the club. The 16 members of the playing squad were bought by nine different clubs for a total of £9,250.

Aye, no. Rangers used EBTs for remuneration, which is tax evasion. They weren't loans, HMRC won and now ex-players are getting hunted.
Also watch ex-Rangers manager Alex McLeish from 45 seconds in this clip William :-

"If we didn't pay the same kinda money Celtic paid their players, we'd have been behind them".
Without EBTs, Rangers couldn't have signed these players. They simply didn't have the finances to compete (despite shedding £50m to MIH!).
Tbh they should be higher up on OP's list...
