what's /sp/'s opinion on Muay Thai?
I think its the best bridge between striking and grappling arts, mma is ruined by no soccer kicks to the head, also striking in mma is godawful
mma is ruined by no soccer kicks to the head
Kickboxing and Muay Thai has soccer kicks banned too
If anything, MMA is ruined by wresting and submissions.

yeah well Kick Boxing and Muay Thai doesnt have fighters that quite literally fight on their back

yeah if soccer kicks to the head are allowed, you wouldnt see as much people who fight on their back like you do in mma, Muay Thai fighters that are clinch specialists are pretty much greco roman wrestlers and are incredibly hard to take down
Way less aestheticaly pleasing to watch than boxing but is way more watchable than mma

its an opinion I dont agree with
when its a top thai match and its both not clinch fighters, its quite literally the best combat sports in my opinion, elbow fights are especially good because its a high stakes game but also very very technical
modern muay thai is probably even more technical than boxing now because of the prevalence of kickboxing and the scoring system changes (hands used to be scored lower so they didnt box at all)
Muay Thai & Kickboxing are my favorite fight sports to watch, but there aren't a lot of good places to watch new fights anymore. Some of the big Muay Thai fights are put on youtube channels like Muay Ties, but a lot of them are not available in the West. There are smaller organizations like Lion Fights or TOPKING but the fight quality of those is a lot more mixed.
Kickboxing is still available from Glory but the quality of fights is kind of a mixed bag. Last few events have been a bit mediocre.
