Iniesta is slow because he's old. Back in 2008 he was about fast enough to play on the wing in a cup winning side, and he used to play a fair share of games on the left for Barca. His topspeed isn't amazing, but the acceleration used to be there. The weakness in Iniesta's skillset has always been goalscoring - dude has the biggest goal in his nation's history but a terrible overall record.
