Really, dirt racing isn't even that affordable anymore. It's always been high but shit, even when I stopped doing it five years ago it was getting out of hand.

I agree, but the problem at all levels are the fucking silly rules. Even dirt now they'll strip cars apart and shit over minor faggot-tier details. Cheatin' is racin', at least that's how I was taught growing up.

Then again, I used to work on a guy's car that would drink during every race. Usually keep a mason jar of moonshine in his car, in a cup holder he rigged up with a straw. Dude would be so drunk by the end of the night I'd have to drive him on, and 30 minutes earlier he just won a race

That ignores the actual problem.

NASCAR is not marketable or sponsor friendly. This is squarely on NASCAR execs who have fucked it up. The reason smaller teams can't get big money sponsors is because the only willing big money sponsors pick the big teams and popular drivers.

The fix is to improve NASCAR from the ground up, increase its fan base, and with eyeballs comes more sponsorship monies for everyone. You could potentially cap it down the road if NASCAR was doing great, but you can't cap it for what poor teams spend now because that's awful.

Improve the racing, venues, and fan experience, it'll fix everything.

I would unironically be ok with Danny winning a ship this year. I hate JGR and Toyota, but he's kinda grown on me. He's candid and seems genuine.

I also like Suarez too and hate what Subway did to him tonight. I think they just wanted outta NASCAR and used that as an excuse. Still a shitty way to treat a rookie.

Several years ago, I was helping him one weekend and he was in the lead with six laps left. He got spun out intentionally. Dude spent the rest of the race driving the wrong way trying to intentionally hit that guy that spun him out. Hit his ass too. Then they both climbed out of the car and started fist-fighting while the race was still going and cars passing them doing 100-120mph.

Not even the craziest shit I've seen. Craziest was about 10 years ago. Two guys got in an argument post-race, one went to his race car and pulled out a snub nose .22, walked up to the other guy, and shot him in the face. Went straight through the guy's cheek, didn't hurt him too badly, proceeded to take the gun out of the guy's hand and beat the ever living shit out of him with it.

Local racing is still prime location for local redneck tomfoolery. Bout the only place to get it anymore since NASCAR has been taken over by Yankees and Cali fags.

NASCAR could save itself if it went back to primarily short track racing, but I fear over half of the current driving field wouldn't have the skills to do it each week. Takes a lot of skill to maneuver those cars correctly in short distances. Mile and a half cookie cutters are pretty much cruise control.

You can't improve the racing when you have 3 teams that can spend 100 million a year across 4 cars and the rest of the field is looking for 1 off meme sponsorships so they can go to the next race.

That all gets on the way to being fixed by making the cars less sealed off to the ground.
