so a guy who gives up a lot of hits could have a high strike % right but not a high K %.

Felix, no. Honestly, for the sake of the team, it's time to move on from Felix. Maybe try to convert him to a bullpen arm, but he really looks done as a starter. His fastball is dead, he has no control, and everyone knows how to hit him now. Regardless of what happens, they are going to have to eat his monster contract. It's Ironic, we all thought Cano wouldn't live up to his monster contract and Felix would live up to his in spades, but the exact opposite has ended up happening.

I've paid close attention to the M's farm system since Dipoto took over. I've been to 5 Aquasox games this season. The Mariners farm is razor thin. It is not up to MLB standards. This season has proved the importance of having depth for the M's. They've thrown random AA pitchers against good teams because they are that desperate. I also know that the M's have had two bad rebuilds in a row, and I'm very sick of the failure. But as a realist, I see the writing on the wall. Cano is 34, Cruz is 37, Felix is done, Seager & Pax are in their primes right now, and there's nobody waiting in the wings to replace any of them. The only proven young talent the M's have right now are Haniger, Gamel, and Segura. Because of the Massive contracts, the M's can't spend a lot of money for the foreseeable future. They also can't trade, because guys like Cano and Felix have no trade clauses and bloated contracts, and guys like Cruz are too old to net anything substantial.

I really love the team chemistry right now, but I've been watching the Mariners this past 15 years. I know the stench of failure, I've lived through the suffering. The only real course of action that the M's have in the future is a complete and comprehensive teardown. They need to tank.

You have Heredia, Diaz, Vogelbach, some young guys in the bullpen like Vieira and Simmons, and maybe Zunino. They're maybe not playing spectacularly at the moment, but things can change with experience and not giving up on them easily. I think you should just stop trading if anything before you get to our level of how bad our farm system is. Better yet, add a proven starter to the team and I think you'll be a solid 85-90 win team barring injuries (I know this bites the Mariners a lot and I sort of feel bad for them in a way when that happens.
