>>
>>77990005
>if you don't sell a player that is probably #50 in the world for the price of #2 best, you win

They could easily replace Neymar with that money, and more easily had it been done earlier.

beyond that neymar is 10 times the player coutinho is and they would have spent the entirety of the neymar money on a literal who
>>
There is no one to blame her but Barcelona's board. They knew ney was leaving and didn't try to sign players before the transfer went through. Also putting off the inigo deal because mascherabo got mad. FFS MESSI hasn't signed his renewal after they said it had happened. They never bid for verrati according emery even though he wanted to join the club.

THE ART OF THE DEAL
>>

>>77990334

>>
>>77990519
>Not getting top money for someone who doesn't want to play for you
They're clearly not about winning either
Not that I expect some third world shithole to understand anything besides organ trafficking
>>
>>77990519
not that guy, but I'm not saying they should pocket the money. they should use it on better players than coutinho (of which there are plenty)

Barca were in a bind; take advantage of that. Why hold out for an unhappy player worth far less than barca are offering?
>>
>>77990519
from a footballing perspective it's a stupid decision, the player can literally go on a strike and liverpool won't do shit, they can fire him but that's what he wants. Should've taken the money and bought a decent defense which is Liverpool's main weakness and the reason they won't win anything this year or probably in their whole Kloop "era".
>>
>>77990582
This has nothing to do with inflation. We are talking about value, not price. The value barca were offering is greater than the value of coutinho.

Leverage is gone now. Liverpool priced themselves out of a great bit of business.
>>
>>77990604
>the player can literally go on a strike and liverpool won't do shit, they can fire him but that's what he wants
Or just not pay him. If he goes on strike, as in not showing up to training at all, that's grounds for them to refuse him any wages.
>>
>>77990641
if they don't pay, the contract is null, he becomes a free agent, that's the same as firing.
>>
>>77990581
Imagine his career if he ever try doing this. Klopp already bench Sakho for whole season eventhough they're bleeding at defense. Considering Liverpool midfield is not a problem, I bet klopp will bench him for the rest of his contract. Screen cap this
>>
>>77990604
>football player going on strike

LMAO this literally never happens, he's just screeching autistically for not getting his way, at most in 1 month from now he'll realize him acting like a baby won't amount to anything and comes back with his head down.
>>
Liverpool will sell him for something like £60m next summer. Their principled stance, just like Southampton's, made no sense. If one of your players wants to go, and you're being offered fair money for him, then you let him go. £130m for Coutinho is just fucking stupid money. Coutinho and VVD are going to leave eventually, or do Liverpool and Southampton plan to do this every summer? Tinpot clubs.
>>
>We thank the player for the efforts he made, because he did make a big effort and showed he wanted to play for us.
What a strange comment
>>
>>77990636
The value of coutinho in the current market is greater than the 80m + another 30m if he lands on the moon offer, considering the fact that in order to buy a replacement and another 1-2 players are gonna cost about 170-200m and then again it's a player around who you've built your team for the past 2 seasons.
>>
>>77990698
Not "on strike" but it's happening now with Alexis Sanchez. He's a locker room cancer now, and Wenger doesn't even want to play him.

If this happens with Coutinho, is he worth the 183 million or whatever?
>>
>>77990698
you're really dumb and naive if you think football players don't commonly fake injuries, miss training sessions and go 10% effort if they want to leave. That's their only leverage over the employer sometimes.
>>
>>77990737
>Thanks for burning bridges and ruining your reputation at your club, good luck with your carreer :^)
>>
>>77990636
Entirely this. They've got a player on their hands now that is desperate to leave and will move eventually. But Liverpool will never be offered anything like £120m for him ever again. They've effectively decided to sell a player for less money.
>>
>>77990604
He just needs to go to training and the normal things then play like shit when flopp uses him. Collect money and laugh all the way to the bank
Eastern Europe shouldn't even be called Europe
>>
>>77990661
Or pay him and then fine him on disciplinary grounds. Soton fined vvd for example.
>>
>>77990745
But they just dominated arsenal without him

Coutinho isn't worth that. Mane is your new Suarez. Coutinho is highly replaceable.
>>
>>77990785
Then Kloppo just ruins his carreer if he tries to pull this shit. He ruined Sakho's for much less, if Coutinho goes on like this he will play with the U23s for 5 years.
>>
>>77990829
He signed a 5-year contract with Liverpool. His career is already ruined.
>>
>>77990849
not my problem you favelaniggers are stupid as fuck.
>>
>>77990805
Who's gonna replace him for 80m payed over 4-5 seasons? Are you literally retarded? Welbeck costs more than that in the current market.
>>77990791
Player prices have been steadily rising for the last 20 years and more. What makes you think he won't cost more next year?
>>
>>77990829
or how about, instead of doing that, which benefits nobody, Liverpool sell him for far more than he's worth to a club that's over a barrel?

That seems way more intelligent than vindictive career ruination.
>>
>>77990882
his replacement has already been signed for £55mil
>>
>>77990882
Honest to god Arsenal were gonna sell Sanchez for a lot less than that, and he's WAY better than Coutinho

I don't know why you think there aren't players out there. Coutinho isn't that good, brah. He's not your secret sauce; Mane is.

Even someone as professional as Ronaldo totally dipped in form for the first half of the 2008/09 season after not getting his move to Real Madrid. Is he actually Barça quality? I know they have absolutely hilarious midfield but is he the guy who finds passes against RM? Bale was hailed GOAT and wrecked EPL weekly. Apart from winning UCL for RM and Copa his been flop. Could this guy be another over hyped babbie?
>>
>>77990914
Liverpool's squad was already rhin, they needed depth. The idea was to add to what they had.
>>77990926
Sanchez has 1 year left, Coutinho has 5. If you can't see the difference I've got bad news for you.
>>
They could've patched up every single one of their squad problems, from defense to the MF, by selling a player who doesn't even want to play for them (and won't even perform well if he stays) for twice his actual worth. I'd love to join in on the Barca memes but I just can't see how Liverpool aren't the losing side here

>>77990689
They'd probably try to sell him while his market value is still high if that happens
>>
>>77990882
>What makes you think he won't cost more next year?

He'll be a year older. He won't play as well this season. And there'll be no Neymar transfer next summer to completely fuck the market.
>>
>>77990967
That's not the point. I"m not saying that Liverpool should price coutinho the same. I'm saying that there are players out there for less than 100 million

And you could buy them to replace coutinho.

and when you do, they will be on however many years you sign them to
>>
>>77990983
This transfer fucks it up permanently. 1 year isn't significant.
>>
>>77990954
>Barça quality

can we stop this meme? Barça always had average players that look good surrounded by world class players. Pedro, Alba, Rakitic, the list goes on.
>>
>>77990884
Because supporters already hate FSG, and backtracking from a definite statement that he's NOT for sale wouldn't help their case. Even then, he COULD have been bought if Barca didn't wait until the final week to stop making fucking joke bids

>15m on the spot + 10 million each year for 7 years + 30 million bonus if he wins the ballon d'or.

Face it, Barca's board are cheap incompetent fucks who sit on a really fucking high horse and think they will always get their way eventually, just because they had 10 good years. They can fuck right off back to irrelevancy.
>>
Coutinho would probably be retired by the time Barcelona finished paying for him, the fucking kikes.
>>
>>77990954
I don't get why people call Bale a flop desu. Since he went their Madrid got their fear factor back and learned how to win CLs again
>>
>>77991052
I won't deny that barca fucked up hard. they have had a worse window than fucking arsenal

still, liverpool won't see this again, and that was a bad move on their part
>>
>>77990978
we don't need the money la, we had stacks of cash to spend, the issue is klopp being far too picky with who he wants to buy

an extra £150mil makes no difference to liverpool's transfer strategy
>>
>>77991005
But if you're going to sell someone who's been an integralvpart of your starting 11 you want more than 1 player to replace him, because then you've gained nothing but another one to integrate into the team. Coutinho is going to win LFC money by playing well and probably a lot more in the long run than what barca are offering. Another thing you're missing is that it was a statement of intent that the club wants to move forward. It's no coincidence players actually wanted to move to Liverpool this summer for the first time in so many years. Counter example is Arsenal.
>>
>>77991097
>we don't need the money
>look at the defence
>look at the goalkeeper

lol yes you do
>>
>>77991126
learn to fucking read dumb hue
we had the money available to buy defenders and a GK, but klopp only wanted VVD, and doesn't want another GK
>>
>>77991126
>brazilian reading comprehension
>>
>>77991007
Nah. No way a player goes for more than £120m next summer. Neymar was £200m because that was his buy-out, Dembele was £120m because Dortmund knew Barca had the money. Same for Coutinho. No one's going to have £150m to spend on one player next summer so no one's going to be sold for that much. The market will relax a little. Barcelona were able to offer an obscene amount for Coutinho because they'd just been handed £200m out of nowhere. Liverpool will never get an offer for him like that again. They were mugs not to take it.
>>
>>77991088
copied from ESPN
>The third bid from the La Liga giants was criticised for the lack of money up front and while Liverpool maintain no offer will be accepted, should a guarantee reach close to £100m.

This was said after Barcelona's third, 138 million bid. So they would've paid that amount over like 10 fucking years which is really not worth, having an extra 10 million to spend each transfer window, it's fucking chump change.
>>
>>77991097
Then why isn't VVD a liverpool player?

>>77991117
I think we may be disagreeing on how good coutinho is. You seem to think that coutinho is far less replaceable than I do. I don't think he adds much value at all to Liverpool that couldn't be reasonably replaced by any of 50 or more players.

And as a statement of intent, it comes off as intent at stupidity rather than moving forward.
>>
>>77991117
But Coutinho won't play consistently to his level at Liverpool again. This happens to virtually every player that hands in a transfer request for his dream move and doesn't get it.
>>
>>77991202
If psg don't get fined for ffp breach what stops chelsea or city owners financing more such deals?
>>77991218
I'll just remind you that Willian and Mkhitariyan didn't want to move and this summer every target was hyped. It makes a huge difference, that's not fm.
>>
>>77991218
>Then why isn't VVD a liverpool player?

cus klopp did a bit of cheeky tapping up and soton threw their toys out of the pram
we never even put a bid in for him for fear of getting in trouble with the FA

Why we didn't switch targets to another CB I do not know, that baffles me too
>>
>>77991171
VVD alone would've cost you, what, 75m? and you already spent ~80m on Salah and Chambelin, and around 50 on Keita. How much more would your budget have allowed you to buy? Not to mention that VVD alone still won't be enough, your entire defensive line is lacking
>>
>>77979007
Liverpool are smart. They know it's a WC year so Countinho will have to try his best even if he doesn't want to be there. The way transfer fees are going, and with Barca inevitably going to have one of their worst seasons in a while this year they'll be even more desperate to sign him and will pay big money, and Liverpool get another year from their best player.
>>
>>77991259
That remains to be seen.
>>
Yanited should've signed Mahrez tbhfams
>>
>>77991322
>he thinks there's any chance of coutinho not being called short of getting a real back injury
>>
>>77991322
Yeah, I don't see Coutinho not really trying. I would only contend that even if he does, he's not worth that much.

Barca will have far more time to reconsider and look at other targets now.
>>
>>77991298
with the outgoings our net spend was only ~£40m
budget at the start of the window was apparently £200m, and we supposedly had £175m to spend on deadline day

all reports indicate that money was not lacking, but identifying realistic targets was

>implying the scousers wouldn't to this to him
https://youtu.be/cvehOBxzwtY
>>
>>77990698
>this literally never happens
Diego Costa.
>>
>>77991322
Delusional. Barcelona are done with Coutinho. The reason Coutinho is crying is because he knows this move is done now. Why would Barcelona deal with Liverpool again when there's alternatives.
>>
>>77991259
There's a case being made across Liverpool news sites that Suarez had his best season ever after stating he wanted to leave. Maybe Coutinho actually thinks this time and decides to have a good season, he's leaving next summer anyways might as well try to make amends with the Anfield faithful.
>>
>>77991480
he'll be playing in a month
>>
>>77991496
There were alternatives this summer as well
>>
>>77991540
There were, but barca weren't desperate until late

There is no way they are coming back for coutinho now, and coutinho is going to be unhappy because of that
>>
>>77991410
The way it's looking, Liverpool will have a repeat of Barcelona's 2016/2017 season, deadly attack, but extremely susceptible to counter attacks, and virtually no offensive/defensive support from the fullbacks
>>
>>77991296
Who could Liverpool have bought?
That Ajax guy who went to Spurs?
>>
>>77991540
The only reason Barca went for Countinho exclusively is to appease the socis with a marquee signing, to save their asses from the upcoming no confidence vote
Next summer, and with possibly a new board, Barcelona have no reason to overpay anymore. Coutinho himself knew that.
>>
>>77991696
Aymeric Laporte is arguably better than both and has a 60m release clause. Barca's target Ingio Martinez was 32m
>>
>>77991322
Barça will have a new board next year, and even if they don't, the current one will blow all its money in the Espái Barça project and all the commissions they can get as soon as they survive the no confidence vote. Liverpool did one thing well, and that is sending the message that their club is not a bridge to bigger clubs. You need to keep big players and win things with them to do that, but now you have a unhappy player that you could have sold for four times his value, and even know I don't really think anyone believes that players around the world will change their outlook on Liverpool, much less I see them winning anything that isn't the eplel. This is a pipe dream from the owners
>>
>>77991998
>I don't really think anyone believes that players around the world will change their outlook on Liverpool

they literally already have
look at keita, lemar, VVD, salah, ox, all gagging to sign for liverpool
>>
>>77989915
Yeah, this board is totally known for telling the truth. Like when they said that Messi had signed a new contract, or that they were sure that Neymar wouldn't leave at a 200%, or that two more signings would come after Dembélé
>>
>>77992143
They are players of a high level, but not the absolute highest, all of them were at a worst club. Every top star or memed, well marketed player is still going to look at Barça, Madrid or the current oil money papa to move to. Image is hard to change
>>
>>77992297
players will always look for clubs where they can earn a lot of money and be competitive. Just look at the Milan situation. It was always a club everyone aspired to play for, arguably the second most successful in history, yet for the last 8 years no one could give less of a fuck about them. Same for Liverpool, their tradition isn't worth shit, all the matters is if they are competitive or have money. Barcelona could go the Milan path and all those myths about it being every player's dream would be dead. Right now, Liverpool has no chance of winning the CL or slim chances of winning the Prem, they are a "participating" team with cash, players like Suarez and Coutinho want to actually win stuff and that's why they move.
>>
>>77991793
They could have bought either one without selling Coutinho. Its not as easy as throwing at player's, they have to be willing to want to move.
>>
>>77992143

neymar and coutinho are good friends, PSG will unironically cuck barca and buy coutinho
>>
buycelona? more like barsellona

sorry.
>>
>>77993103
What if they underperform and get desperate because their team is still shit?
>>
>>77990119
That's the art of the deal.
>>
>>77993285
Irrelevant. Coutinho is good but he's not the sort of player that can save Barça's sorry behind. The only reason they wanted him now is because they needed a 'big signing' to act as a counterweight to Neymar's departure.
>>
>>77993285
they have paulinho, they won't underperform
>>
>>77989877
They should have gottent Hirving Lozano, Jesus Corona, or Diego Lainez then, if they want to sell shirts
>>
>>77990146
Which means his dream of playing for a turncoat team like Barcelona won't ever happen either.

Seeing how VVD was going to cost ~60m before Barcelona even put in a Coutinho bid, I doubt we would have been able to fix our defensive problems by using Coutinho money.

I wouldn't say they've been 'caught lying'. At this point it's Farça's words against Liverslip's.

>We are talking about value, not price. The value barca were offering is greater than the value of coutinho

You can say that for literally any player though. A team might win 100m€ by winning the CL, but that return is minimal considering more than that has already been spent on signings. Factor in that not every club can win the CL, but a lot of them spend more than 100m€ and you start to see the issue.
Starting next season PSG will have to win the CL 3 times in a row just to (almost) offset how much they paid for Mememar and how much they will be paying for Memebappe. Do you think those are the only two signings they'll be making between now and 3 seasons away? Obviously it doesn't make a difference to clubs like PSG, plastic ones, the equivalent of a boy with no friends turning up at the park with a football and suddenly thinking he's hot shit because people now notice him. The problem with this is that other clubs can never compete with the spending (ignore memes like FFP which basically mean nothing) so that means they need to turn themselves into a brand and more or less "Americanize" themselves just to spend money, but it still isn't anywhere near enough so they start treating "projections" as if it's "money in the bank guaranteed" and that's when you start running into real trouble.
Liverpool haven't priced themselves out of anything. Last season spending £90m on Pogba was ludicrous, but was a world record.
A year later that amount has been equaled or dwarfed three times. Next season if Coutinho moves I guarantee it's for more than 100m€. Not because he's worth that amount because he isn't, arguably no player is if we're being realistic, but the precedent has already been set and there isn't any getting away from it.
Football, just like everything else that could be (((exploited))) has been and has been turned into a business because (((capitalism))). Unfortunately, (((capitalism))) requires an endless amount of customers and we don't have that.

Coutinho signed a contract without a release clause, though. He knew what he was getting into i.e. he wouldn't normally be able to leave if the club said so. He's the one who gave up the power to leave on his own terms.

Im happy to see it happen, even though its bad for >us financially.

Disloyal mercenary cunts should get fucked every time a rich club comes knocking.

I practically stopped watching when Suarez left. It has become the old meme of rooting for the color of someones shirt with all the money and trades that have become the staple of modern football.
And yes i know liverpool have been just as guilty snatching players. Id rather they all stopped.

It's not really that bad financially. Last transfer window Liverpool had a negative net spend, this summer it was 54m. To put that into perspective, United spent about 130m, City also 130m, Chelsea 90m. Spurs and Arsenal came in with a negative spend but Spurs don't need to spend much and Arsenal are transitioning into a feeder club.

This year and onwards clubs are getting a lot more money from TV revenue also.

I really hope he is not that retarded.

guaranteed you Liverpool paid his agent a fat fucking agent fee to get that deal through, basically bribed the agent so he would work for the club's interests rather than the clueless player. There is no other explanation for such a terrible deal.

Why did the retard sign a contract with no release clause? His fault he gave up any power and trusted Livershit the future of his career.
