Have you seen the "talent" of some of the QBs that currently have jobs? And don't forget, he was pretty decent last year despite coming off injury and playing with literal shit for teammates. He improved as the year went along, and anyone who paid attention to his film (which I would assume NFL coaches and front offices would have) would know he is worth a roster spot in the current NFL.
So then the only excuse left is >muh distraction, which if you have ever actually played sports, you would know is a bullshit reason.

He is making a stand for equality, recognizing and shedding light on the fact that the country has not lived up to the values it claims to be built on. Additionally, he hasn't just rested on using his voice, but also has put time, effort, and money into attempting to fix some of the issues he speaks about.
