An elite goalkeeper usually plays for a team that is very dominant so they don't have much to do but still need to keep up their concentration the entire time. That's why someone like Neuer is so rare. Ter Stegen, Trapp, basically all the German goalkeepers playing for smaller teams look good because in their clubs they are constantly in action. But when they play for clubs who dominate the entire time and where they just need to make one save every 90 minutes many of them can't make the mental switch and thus end up making bad mistakes.

It's a general thin when getting goalkeepers from small clubs. Dortmund for example got Bürki from Freiburg and he kept fucking up when he had no pressure because he wasn't used to having so little to do.
