He's from bumfuck Kazakhstan, simple as that. He doesn't have a large ready-made fanbase like American, Mexican, Filipino, British boxers do.

If Boxing organization was run by smart people they would stall Floyd on retiring until the American viewer finds someone popular enough to watch.

I vote Lomanchenko as he is fun to watch and is inspiring younger gen to learn his style. Also fun to watch for casuals.

But how do you get him popular?

You get him to ride the coattails of Conor Mcgregor and Floyd.

Stall floyds retirement for a year by setting up a Conor rematch in 2018 and that gives him time to train w Lomanchenko.

During and after the fight weather Conor wins loses Lomanchenko will be all over social media and grab a good portion of Conor's fan base.

It's a win win situation. Boxing gets to keep Floyd around a lil bit longer. Floyd Conor get another paycheck. Lomachenko gets popular and gives boxing a big name fighter after Conor and Floyd retire.

The thing about Crawford and Loma is that they fight in divisions normies don't care for.
I see Anthony Joshua and Canelo being the next superstars. AJ has a 100% KO record and is in the most attractive weight class in the sport. As for Canelo, his fights already draw large audiences. If he beats GGG, then he definitely will hit superstardom.
