Not so much on Floyd's side as much as Floyd is a heavily experienced boxer and knows what is and isn't allowed. McGregor doesn't, and they knew going into it that there was a good chance he would accidentally violate boxing rules semi frequently because his entire fight sense is built around MMA rules. Which is why when the top of Floyd's head was exposed, he naturally wanted to hammer fist, because in MMA that is an optimal strike in that situation.

Floyd not being a knockout puncher means it's more of a big deal that he felt comfortable to drop his guard and just power punch, he was dominating.

Is throwing in the towel still a thing? My boxing knowledge is based off reading Hajime no Ippo ages ago, so this sudden referee win was a huge let down.
At the start it said no standing 8 counts, so I took that to mean the referee couldn't stop the fight to make sure a person could continue.
