There's virtually no difference in fast twitch muscle fibers or hand eye coordination (also why women make excellent marksmen-women whatever) and no they can't pitch in the majors because pitching is a function of strength and leverage which they lack in comparison. That said the shorter distance between a softball mound to plate as compared to a baseball mound to plate is what makes the reaction time between the two sports comparable even though one is pitching at a slower speed. The slower speed and larger ball, however, make it MORE difficult to generate the lift and speed necessary for home runs from a strictly physics point of view. Which is why the fences are also shorter in softball.

Women could also play corners in mlb theoretically because strength and speed isn't a necessary trait there either. Just perfect techniques and awareness which anyone can master.
