NYCFC will probably has the brighter immediate future, as they're a younger team with good pull right now. The Red Bulls are the perennial good season team but massive playoff blowers.

In terms of fanbases, NYRB are much more calm. Unfortunately, the NYCFC fanbase god taken over by assholes who want to be "Real Euro Cultured" and did so by becoming mindlessly violent after a year of existence in the name of forming a City Derby. Rivalry was manufactured as shit until maybe the 7-0 game.

And I hope you enjoy NYC, I know it has a reputation, but I really loved the years I spent there.
