Why are the scores in the modern football so low in comparison to those that used to be in the past? For example, these are from the 1958 WC.
There haven't been any major changes in the rules, so what's the reason for this? Is it because teams play in more defensive formations? Couldn't a team with offense-heavy formation succeed nowadays? Could high-scoring football make a comeback?
