>footballers aren't athlet-
>The Spaniard set a time of 4.42 seconds over a distance of 40 metres, which is quicker than the Jamaican sprinter who when setting the current 100m world record, took 4.64 seconds to cover the first four/tenths of the track.
40 m = 43.7445 yards
https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/hector-bellerin-is-faster-than-sprint-king-usain-bolt-10175435.html
Well that's complete and utter horseshit
>>77580793
No shit, Bolt is well known for being slow in the first 40 metres and then picking it up for the last 60. Lets see this retards time for a full 100, that is if he make it that far without diving.
>>77580793
Usain Bolt's start is not suppose to be impressive, what made Usain Bolt so quick other than the drugs was how he maintained speed rather than lose it.
Still tho, Bellerin has mental acceleration if that's true.
>>77581168
>then picking it up for the last 60
literally not how it works.
>>77581168
I know that but I've read about a NFL guy boasting about the same shit and challenging bolt for a 40 yard race.
>>77581168
There is zero fucking chance any footballer is anywhere near Bolt in 40 meters. Not even close. They wouldn't be near any top sprinters.
>>77581411
Why are you in denial, bro?
>>77581411
this guy played lower league football and switched to athletics, his PB is sub10
I imagine better players also have elite sprinting potential
>independent
not measured the same way though. When they measure speed of football player they just have 2 cells with distance 40m between them and the time goes on when you pass the first and stop when you pass the second. Plus the first cell is not exqctly where they start so they have some speed going in.
>>77581302
There are actual guys in the NFL who were high school or college track stars, with actual sprinting experience and ability. Guys like Jeff Demps who won a silver in the 2012 Olympics and also played for the Patriots and Florida Gators. He could give Bolt a run for his money. I don't think Bellerin has a track background, and he would have a chance vs. Bolt or Demps.
>>77581619
Oh wow really? So they take a running measurement and not one from a dead start?
And here I was thinking that OPs faggot player has to be one of the FASTEST humans in history
>>77581411
Bolt isn't known as the quickest starter, many sprinters are quicker over the first 50. Have you ever watched him race?
>jiroo and lacazette in the middle
>cross to leicester players
özil ffs
>>77581619
>40m time of a player whos already in motion
Whats the fucking point then?
>>77581738
True, It's like his speed doubles in the middle of the race. He looks like he's struggling then boom he starts flying.
>>77581411
>>77581244
he is famously known to be a slow starter and wins the race in the last 40m-50m by hitting a top speed that's just faster then everyone else's
>>77580793
Is this time with the ball? If it is, it is astounding
>comparing someone running 40 meters in full stride and someone running the same distance from a starting position
>>77581714
>>77581776
they're also chasing a ball and not running a race on track with spikes
>>77581714
>>77581776
>>77581887
Consider the fact he has a ball at this feet.
>>77581916
>>77581941
Now you're just pathetically grasping.
>>77580793
Hector Bellerin is also an alleged /b/tard
>40m starting at top speed is faster than someone starting at rest
so this is the power of soccer "athletes"
>>77581714
Sorry for insulting your intelligence america, plz don't nuke france.
lmao why is 190kg acting like an expert in sprinting techniques
>>77582614
No worries, Violence against homosexuals is now illegal anyway.
Nobody is going to remember ballerina or the current Arseanal team. Everybody is going to remember "the Jamaican". Accept it, customer.
>>77582710
hahaha
>>77581738
Bolt isnt the fastest starter compared to the faster sprinters in the world. But he is vastly superior to any footballer over short or long distances.
http://craigpickering.com/2015/04/speed-footballers/
>>77581618
He broke 10 afters years of specific sprinting training. He wouldn't come close to 10 while playing football fulltime.
>I imagine better players also have elite sprinting potential
If they do they not coming close to their peak potential doing football training.
Footballers are nowhere near as fast as handegg players. Handegg players are nowhere near as fast professional sprinter. Apart from a few handegg players who did specific sprint training all the way through college.
Bellerin isn't really that fast either. Just in today's game he got the ball and had a dead sprint with 60 yards of unimpeded space and a defender closed him down easily.
>>77580793
yeah, good for him, but bellerin is still shit
>footballers aren't athlet-
if anyone states it, then dismiss that person as retarded.
>>77580793
Holy shit, but can he do the DBG?
Christian Coleman is an American sprinter who just got 3rd in the 100m dash a few day ago at the world champs. After John Ross ran a NFL combine record 4.22 40 yrd dash Coleman ran 4.12
