- The difference between pt-pt and pt-br is bigger than the difference between en-us and en-uk, because the language isn't standardized like english is.

- Argentines speak spanish with a lisp.

- Catalan is certainly romance, and to someone who speaks it, it actually sounds to portuguese than regular spanish, but so few people actually use it it might as well be irrelevant.

- Basque might as well be moonrunes. It's up there with hungarian and finnish as one of the most bizarre languages this side of chingchongland.
