Why do I keep coming here? What void does this place fill? Since I was 15 (22 now) I have browsed different 4chan boards. First /b/, then /pol/, then /lit/, and now /sp/. As I have moved through this progression, I have gone through periods of extremely high activity on each board before becoming disillusioned with the caustic culture and groupthink which eventually became apparent.
I am now conscious of these same issues afflicting /sp/. I am starting to hate it. Yet, I stay. What comes next? Do I need to actually begin pursuing life? Is this horrendous purgatory of anonymity over for me? Or does some new horror-house await me, a new cage for the mind that will only make me periodically happy?
I feel like 4chan is some sort of House of the Rising Sun of the modern age for outcast teenagers and social failures. Men (loosely using the term) come here from all around and drown their sorrows with pictures of women they will never meet, get into artificial troll-fights that none of the combatants actually takes seriously, and then leave, wondering why they ever entered in the first place.
Is there something better out there? Is a real bar any better?

I just miss the old /sp/ that started to die off in late 2013 when the mods started cracking down hard on anything fun. Everybody was relaxed, we were one of the top boards on the site, everything was settled with a power ranking and we even had ass threads when the mods were asleep.
Is there any place like old /sp/? I keep coming back hoping to see this place looking like old times...
