Just get a good wide receiver and hit them on the deep ball repeatedly the game has op catching mechanics so doing this you can easily get big yards every couple downs

Haven't played 17, but had a good record on 25.

1. Run the ball, outside or middle. Madden usually has a very broken run game, don't ever give up on it.
2. You have 3 tries before reaching the 1st down, don't try to gain 10+ yards on every play. Longer drives makes opponents desperate, desperate is better than angry.
3. Learn pre play (is that what is called?) adjustments. Change routes often.
4. If you've been playing long enough, you will notice your team is more succesfull with certain plays, don't burn them right away.
5. I feel more comfortable with a 3-4 defense and multiple adjustments, usually control the safeties and let the Dline or LBs stop the run by themselves. Usually control the edges when expecting a pass play.
6. Bait them into blitz, let them go air happy and blitz them once they're pass the 50.

when i used to play madden i would just run the ball four times in a row. 95% of the time i would get the first down. sometimes my opponent wouldn't get possession until the 3rd quarter. i was also really good at getting interceptions but i don't know how i did it. the AI is always in the right place at the right time, it seemed to play itself on defense.
