As for size, the difference in grappling ability would be a huge advantage for Conor. The difference between someone who know ground fighting and someone who doesn't is very high. Royce Gracie was physically weaker than Conor and not really an elite grappler. He still defeated the likes of Ken Shamrock, who was much bigger than he was and who had grappling experience.

The best pre-MMA fighter was likely not Mike Tyson, but a Japanese Judo fighter called Yasuhiro Yamashita. He would likely take less than 30 seconds to defeat Tyson and about 2 minutes to defeat Rickson Gracie.

This isn't some watercooler conversation over if a bear or a lion wins a fight. Back in the day boxers and grapplers were put into the same cage all the time and no matter the size differences, the grapplers win.

Anyway, right now in the HW division in the UFC there's multiple HWs who can't grapple at all and literally walk forward, drop their hips occasionally after a year or so of takedown defence and knock people out. These HW's could easily starch Conor because they're fucking heavyweights, size matters, you fucking retards. Mike Tyson is a freak athlete with great timing. McGregor has never demonstrated a decent shot. He'd try to keep Tyson away with oblique kicks until he couldn't.

Prime Tyson would wreck almost the entirety of HW and LHW. Todd Duffee was a solid prospect at one point and Tyson is WAY better as an athlete and actually more skilled.
