Who will be the next NBA powerhouse teams after the Warriors and Cavs??
>>
>>76656560

bucks or wolves
>>
LOL nice joke it will be the lakers or celtics
>>
>>76656747
This
60s: Lakers Celtics
70s: Whoever the fuck
80s: Lakers Celtics
90s: Bulls
00s: Lakers, somewhat Celtics
10s: Warriors
20s: Has to be Lakers Celtics again
>>
>>76656560
Yet to be decided. I honestly think cavs-warriors will face each other for the next 3 years. Celtics have by far the best hand to play but a pretty poor player playing the hand.

Cavs-warriors isnt going away anytime soon barring a James injury or 2/3 of Durant/Curry/Green getting hurt though so I wouldnt worry about it right now.
>>
bulls with anthony davis, deandre ayton, jaylen brown and de'aaron fox
>>
>>76656762
>70s: Whoever the fuck
Thats exactly why parity sucks. Absolutely nothing NBA related is ever referenced regarding the 70s. Youre in the middle of seeing by far the greatest back and forth between two teams in sports history and everyone's bitching about it.
>>
Hinkie's Sixers vs Hinkie's Bulls. Hinkie has figured out the NBA
>>
TRUST THE PROCESS
>>
>>76656792
guess you haven't been keeping up with current events.

Cavs are done.
>>
>>76656950
>Cavs are done.
They will be in the finals for the next 2 years no matter what
>>
>>76656950
What if they get Paul George and/or Jimmy Butler? Those guys want to win rings.

Even if they don't, you think there's any team in the East right now that can beat Lebron?
>>
>>76656560
whoever drafts Luka Dončić
>>
>>76656964
George would be good. Butler would flop hard
>>
Two things about the Cavs:

There will be a new GM next season, since Dan Gilbert has never in 12 years negotiated an extension with his GM. So Griffin is gone. They disagreed on their visions of the future of the team. So you have an owner who wants to call the shots. That doesn't work in any sport.

The Cavs are the oldest team in the conference, with an average age of 30 next season. Toronto and Boston will be entering their primes, on average. The Cavs are past their prime. Some players decline more slowly than others, but they are all declining. Even LeBron.
>>
>>76656792
The cavs today confirmed that's it and they're blowing up the team. Gilbert doesn't want to pay the repeal offender tax.
>>
>>76657008
>Even LeBron
Last year by any measure was his best season of the 3 since rejoining the cavs and probably a top 3 season overall. Saying he's declining is absolutely false. Griffins overrated, what did he assemble? That bench was garbage, they overreached on Thompson, he thought Kyrie was an untradeable little goddess, all while ballooning their salary into a corner. I couldn't care less what James thinks regarding that because its proven hes not very good in that area.
>>
>>76657008
>lebron declining

You must not have payed attention last season friend. Outside of ft shooting it was probably his best statistical season yet
>>
>>76656560
Lonzo Ball's LAkers you heard it hear first
>>
>>76656560
Timberwolves, Sixers, or Lakers
>>
raptors :,)
>>
>>76656560
Lakers and Spurs
>>
Celtics have so much draft and trade capital right now along with an already competitive team that it'd be a massive blunder if they didn't swing at least a few championships in the next decade.

Stern should have blocked that insanely idiotic and one-sided Nets trade instead of the CP trade.
>>
>Lebron and Durant will never team up
Is next summer the last chance? I think Durant is going to sign an extension this summer though so it might already be too late
>>
Big markets will always prevail. Teams like the Cavs succeeding are such a rarity and basically can only happen when you're lucky enough to draft a top 5 player all time who also happens to be a hometown boy.

Celtics, Lakers, Warriors, Heat, Bulls, the Texas teams, and the Knicks if they can ever get their shit together will continue to win nearly every championship.
>>
>>76658994
Nah. Milwaukee, Philidelphia, and Minesota are in the best positions moving forward.
>>
>>76658918
>so much draft and trade capital
They are mostly trading their high picks for lesser rookies. Their last major player trade was with Phoenix and that was years ago.

>already competitive
They got rekt in the ECF with an actual championship team.

Come back when the Celtics are dangling their garbage for another franchise player like Leaveland is doing right now.
>>
>>76659007
Remember when those 90s Jazz teams, Nash Suns teams, and recent Thunder teams that were stacked with talent won all those championships? Me neither.

It doesn't mean shit because by the time all those young talented players become savvy prime veterans that can actually win championships, they're already long gone.
>>
>>76658994
>Celtics
the only real option here
>Lakers
they haven't even made any moves and one rookie, no matter who he is, isn't gonna change anything
>Heat
literally only have hassan whiteside
>Spurs
have a chance at being very good again if they can successfully replace the guys who have retired/are older than dick
>Knicks
unironic Knicks fan and >we haven't won a championship since the early 70s or been to the playoffs since 2011 OR been consistently good since the 90s... so no
>>
PHOENIX SUNS

>what are the Lakers-Celtics in the 80s

5-1 is not a back and forth
>>
>>76659070
Lel, they reached the ECF, have a young team, currently possess the #1 draft pick, have another unprotected Nets 1st round draft pick 2 years from now, and are likely favorites to sign Gordon Hayward in free agency.

That is about as great a situation you could have.
>>
Celtics or Spurs
>>
This would have been a 50-50 series if Kevin Durant didn't fuck everything up.

Thanks Kevin Durant for a boring NBA finals to cap off a boring year, 82 game grueling season for this shit.
>>
>>76659123
I'm just saying that betting on any team other than those that I mentioned to win more than 1 combined championship in the next 10 years would be a suckers bet.

Teams like the Knicks fucking suck because they're horribly mismanaged, but teams like the Thunder can have a top tier FO, but they still won't ever win shit.

The Mavs are probably closer to a team like the Cavs than a team like the Lakers. They won due to extraordinary circumstances as well aka having Dirk who had such an incredible rare loyalty to the franchise that drafted him.

Dirks are a precious resource and should be cherished.
>>
>>76659282
>that drafted him
The Bucks?
>>
>>76659282
if you're not the overall point leader for your team you aint shit

People are sleeping on the kangs.Jump on the bandwagon before it is too late.Their 2 picks this year are going to be both all stars
>>
Obviously the NBA will revert back to its natural state, the Celtics/Lakers rivalry.
>>
>>76656762
>00s
>Celtics over Spurs
>>
>>76659315
They'll get swept by the Warriors in the 2nd round.
>>
>>76656560
Lakers (everyone wants to be there and they will peak when warriors/cavs die), Celtics (smart managment except when it comes to drafting, everyone wants to play there), Sixers (young players will peak when Warriors/Cavs die) and whoever gets Top 2 picks next season. I don't have much faith in Timberwolves even if they have great young core.

Why even have a team outside those states?

Celtics Sixers Bucks

We all know the Knicks have elite talent, but could they possibly have one of the best starting 5's of all time?

Derek Rose - Arguably the most explosive and athletic point guard of all time. looking to challenge for his second MVP this year after a few minor setbacks

Carmelo Anthony - One of the best all around scorers of this generation. His fadeaway jumper is wet as fuck and he can finish around the rim too. Basically unstoppable on offense.

Kristaps Porzingis - A total physical freak, there has never been a player with his combination of size, speed, and coordination in league history. He is already an elite rebounder and rim protector, once he polishes up his offensive game he will literally be better than Dirk

Joakim Noah - Is an amazing rim protector with great athleticism and a very high basketball IQ. Looking to challenge for his second DPOY award this year ( if Porzingis doesn't win it instead ) Isn't an elite offensive talent, but with the amazing playmaking of Rose he should average at least 15ppg on lobs and putbacks. Combines with Porzingis to make the best defensive front court in the league. Good fucking luck trying to score in the paint against these two.

Oh yeah and did I forget to mention they are led by the best basketball mind of all time Phil Jackson?

Worst case scenario we get the second seed in the East. LeBron is only getting older and won't dominate forever. The Warriors are great sure, but its very possible they collapse due to chemistry issues, Green is a team cancer and will Klay and Steph want give up scoring to KD? Plus we all know KD chokes in the clutch.

This team is a legit title contender for the foreseeable future, I'm 100% serious
