When I tore mine there was a loud pop, strangely enough I didn't much of it at the time until I tried to run again during the same football match. I knew something was up as the knee was super unstable. Went to the doctors that same day and got a check up (no mri) and they suggested it was torn cartilage. No massive amounts pain or anything until 2 days later when my knee was swollen like mad. Stiffness for about 2 weeks.

For me its hard to say as the doctors were wrong about the initial check up in 2015 and I had already spent a year rehabbing what we thought was a torn cartilage. Once I got the MRI the operation happened, and I was told rehab would take about 6 months minimum. I had a few setbacks so I don't expect to return to football for another 3 months or so.

The rehab is long because of the type of injury it is, from what I have been told, that particular area of the body doesn't get much blood flow through it so recovery is long. Plus because you have your leg up, inactive for a while, so you have to remind the muscle groups how to work and strengthen them back up.

Strengthen those legs muscles man and make sure you have appropriate footwear for what you are doing. Tore my ACL on astro turf, i'm sure it was because I had FG boots on.

But sometimes you can just get injured via external forces.

That or they were just big and or extremely fast. Predator X's are pretty much universally panned as being bad shoes. I had them and played 2 games before I just went back to the previous model. They didn't use K-leather, and instead used taurus which is just cow hide. The ones you posted however were legit. K-leather and the rubber strike zone made them great for power shots (learned how to do knuckle the ball in them). The powder was meme-y but at least gave you a sense they were built for power. Was lurking and noticed the acl talk. I use to play football everyday but about 6 months ago I did something in training (was volleying). The out side of my knee ( from about the top of my shin to just above the knee) still hurts from what ever I did.
I tried playing thru it for about 2-3 months but every time I'd do a long pass or shot i would get extreme pain on the outside of my knee and my knee would give out and sometimes I would fall to one knee. Same thing happens when I'm just walking down the street. So I decided to take the past 3 months off and just recently got back into light jogging this month. The knee still gives out some times but I have noticed some improvement. When I lay down at night it's often hard for me to sleep since it tends to feel really tight then all the sudden spazes out or like a really bad twitch.
I never went to the doctor but does that sound like acl troubles?
