While Montenegro have been playing checkers and didn't even notice that Mkhitaryan was almost "surpsingly" inactive on the field we have been playing chess all along
2018 WC is over, our group is doomed to have the worst 2nd place team so pretending to care now is the same as chasing after the bird in sky. What really matters though is the 2020 Euro and boy, is the Nations League qualification going to play a big role in that.
By intentionally lowering our ranking we would be able to play in Nations League Division D, the winner of which, may I remind you gets a spot in the Euro's.
In fact you might've not noticed, but our fellow Hungarians are doing the same tactic, since all the other Division D teams are fodder - as of now it seems that the Division D final would be Armenia vs. Hungary, a big game for big minds and for a ticket to Euro 2020, woohoo!
