What exactly has Durant done to improve his legacy by joining the Warriors?

LeBron's ring last year, and Dirk's ring in 2011 went further in enhancing those two player's legacies than winning 6 rings on a stacked as fuck Warriors team would ever do for Durant.
>>
to ensure the failure of his career was not just down to his incompetence.
>>
Why are people so obsessed with legacy lol
>>
>"Durant's legacy is tarnished because he didn't win a championship the way I (the irrelevant fan) wanted him to!!"
>>
>>76412357
Nobody realistically thought that though. People were always blaming Westbrook even when he was on the Thunder.
>>
>>76412375
>irrelevant fan

What does legacy mean outside of what a bunch of "irrelevant fans" will think of you in the future?
>>
>>76412366
Because it makes them feel better about their own inadequacies.
I include myself in that group.
>>
>>76412330
>Lebron does the same thing Durant does.
>Lebron's somehow means more
>>
It's not enough that he succeeds in improving his legacy, lebron must fail in improving his legacy as well
>>
>>76412461
Fans of the future will care even less about him going to the Warriors
>>
>>76412479
LeBron lead every player in the Finals in every single stat last year and beat a team that had the best regular season record of all time after being down 3-1.

Durant is winning on a team that goes on runs when he's on the bench.
>>
>>76412461

As time goes on, people forget more and more about the little details

The one thing that people don't forget about is the championships. That's why people are so quick to jump to "muh 6" or "muh 5" when comparing LBJ/MJ/Kobe
>>
>>76412330
He beat the Cavs a third time.

Why is this thread even here
>>
>>76412479
Lebron joined a 73-9 team that he lost to?
>>
If they win 6 rings, people will remember the Warriors as Durant's team. Curry will be his Pippen. OKC will be forgotten.
>>
>>76412492
It's funny because it's true. Michael Jordan is the real winner in all this. Durant isn't doing anything to help his legacy, but he's actively hurting Curry and LeBron's legacy.

He's a true villain.
>>
Only 28 and almost has 20,000 regular season points
4 time scoring champion
MVP
All-Star since his second season
5 All-NBA first teams
2 All-NBA second teams
About to be NBA champion with likelihood of one or two more to come
Two time Olympic gold medallist

Face it, Durant will go down as a top 15 player of all time.
>>
>>76412536
>>76412611
One of the biggest digs against Jordan is how good the Bulls still were when he left the team. Also nobody except delusional Laker fans ever put Kobe in the GOAT conversation anymore.

The Warriors outright already won a championship vs a great Cavs team without Durant and set the single season record for wins. Nobody will forget that.
>>
>>76412654
People already believes this before he joined the Warriors though. He's always widely been considered the 2nd best player in the league the last decade behind LeBron.
>>
>>76412330
He is a lock to the HoF now
>>
>>76412725
He already was a first ballot lock for the HoF.
>>
>>76412654

He's already in the top 3 at that position behind Lebron and Bird
>>
>>76412713
But it is obious that Durant is way better than LeBrick
>>
>>76412747
>He's already in the top 3 at that position behind Lebron and Bird
But he is obviously better than both
>>
>>76412330
despite what we think, no one in 20 years is going to care that he joined the Warriors. They're only going to care about the rings he won. oh and you can thank that fag Michael Jordan for the reason people care about rings and legacies.
>>
>>76412713
then what does it matter if he moved to the Warriors?
>>
Everyone talks about it like KD is just along for the ride. His numbers are up since joining them both offensively and defensively.
>>
If Durant stayed with OKC and never won a ring, he'd be a laughingstock.
>>
>>76412820

That's what happens when you play for a team that actually works the ball around and is taught team defense
>>
>>76412762
Durant started his career with Harden, Westbrook, and Ibaka and jumped to a team that has Curry, Thompson, and Draymond.

He has played with more players that combined have more MVPs than he himself has, and have each individually lead more teams to the playoffs than he has.

LeBron has played with 0 other players in his career who have won MVPs besides an old and busted Shaq, and his current two best supporting cast members (Kyrie and Love) never so much as even sniffed the playoffs before joining LeBron.
>>
>muh legacy
maybe the guy just want to fucking win
>>
>>76412827
The problem wasn't leaving OKC, it was joining the Warriors. Nobody holds it against him if he joins John Wall in his hometown.
>>
>>76412584
the only major difference is KD went to the team he lost to. Lebron went to a team that could BEAT the team he lost to.
>>
>>76412930
>Durant started his career with Harden, Westbrook, and Ibaka
When they were absolute memes, they still are
>LeBron has played with 0 other players in his career who have won MVPs besides an old and busted Shaq, and his current two best supporting cast members (Kyrie and Love) never so much as even sniffed the playoffs before joining LeBron.
Wade was the second best player in the league and Bosh was a top 7 player. There is no difference between what LeBrick did and what Durant did.
Besides LeBrick only remains relevant through Silverball which ignores his offensive faults and his travels.
LeBrick is a fraud
>>
>>76412942
>Winning on easy mode

What's the fucking point? If Durant feels validation from winning on a team that a dozen other players in the league with less talent could also do in his place, he's a pleb bitch.
>>
>>76413077
>Wade was the second best player in the league

Duncan, Dirk, LeBron, Kobe, Durant, and Howard were all better players than Wade in 2010.
>>
>>76412330
Durant gets to be a winner, doesn't have to answer why can't you get it done, and gets to have fun playing basketball. This wasn't about how people would view him in 20 years lol.
>>
>>76413077
LeBron had a top 10 player in Wade, and a top 20 player in Bosh, but the Heat were largely fucking garbage outside of that.

Who were the next best players on that team? Battier and Chalmers? Later on a really old Ray Allen?

The Warriors team top to bottom is so disgustingly stacked. Curry and Durant are both top 5 player, Thompson is a top 10 player, Draymond is top 20 player, then you have Iguodala, Livingston, McGee, and David West on the bench who all 4 are probably better than any single role player on the Cavs.
>>
>>76413180
>Kobe
Kek
>>
He obviously doesn't want to end up like Barkley. Chuck had a great career and never ring chased and now all anybody talks about is how he never won a ring. If people are going to put rings at the forefront of a player's legacy, don't be all scandalized when players prioritize rings above all else (besides money)
>>
>>76413315
wade was not even close to a top 10 player back then and he declined every season they played together. bosh did not play as well as he did before joining them. they had no other starters or bench until their third season together.
>>
>>76413343
He kind of ring chased at the end with Houston but that team was like the AARP all-stars
>>
>>76413343
That's the problem. Durant is so scared of being a Malone or Barkley that he's wasting the opportunity and talent he has to become a top 5 player all time. He's a scared little bitch and he's throwing the potential for greatness down the toilet to settle for becoming a solid top 20 or so player.

A player like Dirk managed to have it all. Got his ring, Maximized his legacy, and gets to be universally beloved all because he wasn't a beta scared loser. He punched above his weight while Durant is punching down. Durant has vastly more potential than Dirk ever had, yet he'll probably end up just a few spots higher than him on the all-time list when it's all said and done.
>>
>>76412492
Man, this anti-hype backlash is amazing.
>>
>>76412762
>>76412783
>rings
>MVP
>All-NBA
But by all means, keep up the hot takes.

>>76412809
It was the easiest way out on the list of easy way outs.
>>
Honestly, it's cute how anyone cares this much and thinks shit like this doesn't get smoothed over time. He'll have his ring or rings and all the critics will just have their saltyness. He'll still be winning, whiners will still be whining. Somebody will make a similar move as KD and LeBron before him made and he'll become the next villain for the public's all time outrage because that's where the league is headed. In 20 years KD will still be filthy rich beyond our wildest dreams and have a chip or more. He'll sleep comfortably I'm sure. No one will fucking care because his resume will have nothing missing from it.
>>
>>76412330
I dont think he gives a fuck about a legacy, just getting that ring. Which, in my opinion, there's nothing wrong with. Why would you turn down an opportunity to be on the best team of all time and now probably be in the finals for the next 5+ years? Sure he maybe could have won a ring on OKC, but that would probably involve bringing in some outside help, and at that point whats the difference?

As said before, he'll be in the HoF, and this warriors team will forever go down as the greatest team ever constructed
>>
>leBeta faggots trying to damage control saying fucking Irving is shit despite him being a point off from LeFlop yesterday
Kys LeCuckhold faggots. LeChoke is a bitch and you know it.
>>
>>76414618
lebron has actually played really well overall these last few games, minus the turnovers, which I think is as much a credit to the warriors as it is a detriment to lebron. I dont think I've seen or heard of someone putting up the numbers he's been putting up and still lose in a series. Him and kyrie both really, since he's also playing really well.

and before you mention the play at the end of yesterday's game, you can't discount 130~ min of play (idk exactly how much time hes been on the floor the last 3 games) because of one play
>>
>>76414618
Whom are you quoting?
>>
>>76412518
Durant has been the leading scorer in almost every game these playoffs

OKC was holding KD back with their shitty communication and generally mediocre ball-handling. At least in the Warriors he can maximize his potential.
>>
>>76412330

hes performed better than lebron in every game

hes literally performed on jordan's level
>>
I could win a championship with the warriors. Durant can piss off

I'll respect a guy like dirk infinitely more than kd no matter how many rings he has
>>
>>76412330

>What exactly has Durant done to improve his legacy by joining the Warriors?

He is being the best player in the finals series, outclassing lebron on his way to a finals MVP. That's what he's doing. Are you dumb?
>>
-win
-hit clutch shots
-not choking
>>
>>76416880
>>76416872
>>
>>76416917

just like you won a championship on the 2011 and 2014 heat right?
>>
>>76412330
why do you nogs only care about your "legacy" instead of the fucking team? this is why hockey will always be the best team sport - its a team first. None of this prima donna bullshit about legacies and blaming others when you fail.
>>
>>76412366
Jordan's name was used in vane.

Not cool.
>>
>>76416952
Interesting side-step, m8.
