That's how I see it too. If it's a non-local club, I'd at best regard myself a fan. It wouldn't feel right to consider myself on the same level as local supporters.

I've followed Milan since 2010, but this last season I gave up like halfway through the season and watched very few games.

I just didn't want to waste 2 hours to see a bunch of bargain bin shitters lose to Empoli, Udinese and Crotone. There was never any troubleshooting done by the coach or experimenting either.

Same fucking formation, same fucking XI losing and drawing 0-0, 1-1 over and over again.
