A key problem with 2K now is the focus on e-sports, instead of being an all-around player who has the flexibility on all areas of offence/defence, you're forced to pick a specific archetype, limiting your abilities via making you team up with others to be an effective unit (e.g. one person's a "rebounding guy", or a "dunking guy", "passing guy" etc). Hopefully next year, they expand this system in a multi-tier system (e.g. a PG could specialise in Playmaking, but also have secondary skills in Inside Scoring and Defending)
