Hey guys, what's going on?
Pitchers on average have gotten 5 inches taller since the last moving back of the mound. This is a factor to be taken into consideration
>>76182138
If the effect of distance on strikeout rate is linear, then every foot by which the pitching area shifted in 1887 and 1893 reduced the K rate by 7.5 percent. If the same relationship held true with the 19th-centuray results, moving the mound back to 65½ feet would send today’s strikeout rate back to where it was, on average, from 1975–82.

The 94 postseason didn't exist so 93 and 95 are indeed consecutive postseasons.

I normally always shit on teams for giving out so much money, but that fucker was actually kinda worth the money. Especially since the contract ended when he will be 36, not some retarded deal like Arod of Pujols being 42(Pujols is actually 42 now and he'll be 46 when he retires)
His postseason stats are horrific, no debating this. But you gotta pay these guys for what they can do for you in the regular season, and Price has been pretty solid.
I don't think GMs can even think about postseason play in baseball, making the playoffs is actually hard. The MLB isn't some retard league like the NBA where 16/30 teams make the playoffs, only 8/30 make it in. A lot of good ball clubs miss the playoffs, because being able to win a division in baseball is actually very difficult and meaningful.
It's amazing how great our sport is compared to the others. 162 games are played, over 6 months, but our regular season is so much more meaningful than the NBA, NHL, and still more than the NFL(though the NFL regular season is important, but not as much as baseball) Every game matters, good teams missed the playoffs by 1 or 1/2 of a game. Where in the NBA a team like the Cavs could give jackshit about the regular season, play half-hearted ball for their fans, then sweep their way to the finals.

>implying Mike "derby" Fiers isn't absolute garbage with no upside and no signs of improvement
The offense bails him out. >we win IN SPITE of him, not because he keeps >us in the game. When this team finally hits a rough stretch, he will singlehandedly lose winnable games and put them in a hole, just like he's done in the past. His uselessness defies logic sometimes.

>all are bad but Keuchel
McCullers has elite stuff and continues to mature in his mental game. McHugh is a solid #3, and would be a fantastic #4 if they got a decent SP in a trade. Peacock has been very, very good this year, and shows legit potential, though I doubt he'll stay at the level he's pitching at now. Musgrove is objectively not as bad as Fiers, but still a weak spot.
It's not like the entire rotation is elite, but it's not an abysmal Spahn/Sain/literally who type situation. Fiers just sucks so badly.

Only if you have a reliable proxy service. Otherwise you can't watch local games, even when they're playing away. You can't watch nationally televised games like SNB. You can't watch the playoffs with it either.
You'll want to be able to get an international proxy service.
MLB.tv is the best streaming of any of the major sports currently. It really is a great product as long as you can get around the blackouts. You also always be able to listen to the broadcast feed you want to as well, I know when I used to use the bootleg sites, sometime I'd get stuck with a broadcaster I didn't like.
again only worth it if you have a good proxy service like PIA, even at half price. otherwise you'll be so fucked over by blackouts you'll want to fire bomb an orphanage.
