Listen I'm not a LeBron hater like a lot of people are. Frankly LeBron is like a laboratory test tube baby or an unholy mix of two of the greatest basketball players to ever play the game, Magic Johnson and Shaq. Mix shaq's devastating power, temper it with Magic's ball skills and finesse and you basically get LeBron, a slightly less version of both, with many of the advantages they had in some sort of superhuman package of NBA glory.

Lebron probably would have won in any era, so I'm not a hater who thinks he would have struggled in the 80's or 90s against those defenses. However his game would have had to change to dominate like he does today. He would have had to get tougher than he is now; His game would change, he wouldn't be as soft a player as he is now (this is why all the hater old school BBall fans hate him, and it's true, he is a bit soft for a guy built like a fucking greek god, it pisses off old school fans like no one's business to watch him).

Still, what the LeBron fans don't get is how superhuman Michael Jordan was. Jordan DID play against much tougher defenses, and regularly created open shots out of thin air, His ball activity in the air (off his feet) was insane, and unlike LeBron or Kobe (for half of Kobe's career) he was a tough defender too. Back then his zone nonsense he gets his steals, rebounds and blocks with would have been illegal defenses, and whenever Lebron is forced to man up you can see he's only solid in the post, not on the wing in open space. That's a big weakness.

It's kinda funny too how Jordan who is smaller and lighter than him was a FAR superior post player than Lebron. Lebron's skills in the post are pretty amature in comparison.
