It's not a terrible idea for a leaf.. When the goal dimensions were designed players, and especially goalkeepers, were a good amount smaller and less athletic then they are these days.

It's actually not a bad idea. There are a lot of incredible shots that end up going off the post, imo games would be much higher scoring if you increased the size of the nets even a little bit (say 1 foot wider and 1 foot higher).

The problem is that it would completely screw up goalscoring and goalkeeping records, and might minimize the accomplishments of god-tier players like Messi.

When it's easy shots, actually, yes. It's not the same danger when the goal is 2 or 7 meters large, it's not the same excitement when you have lots of shots because of the rarity of it.

And, do you really know football ? Football is about strategy, about patience, best games are tense games like the last UCL final, not so much goals, but you know anyone can fail at any moment. With that much shots, just watch basketball or handball, it's more spectacular than futsal.

The actual great thing about futsal isn't the shots, but the tricks.
