Every sport favors a certain trait (football: speed, basketball: height, gymnastics: height (or a lack of one that is) etc.
Putting a ball through the hoop isn't hard, but putting the ball through the hoop so consistently is. I mean there's a reason Americans BTFO other nations in international basketball tournaments, they don't fucking miss. And to achieve that level you need A LOT of practice. And that's just shooting the ball through the hoop from various angles. Now add other tall blokes trying to steal the ball from you to the play and it gets even more difficult.
