They also have lesser pressure due another way open for them. If Cities and Liverpools seasons could end up in a disaster after all the time in top 4. With Spurs it depends a lot on whether they are still somewhat close to Chelsea or not, they could implode like last season.

It's not just the disconnect. After all the time in the top 4, they could still drop to EL, mathematically when a single game goes wrong. For Liverpool it's even worse in a way, since it's not in their hands. On the psychological side, United definitely got an advantage. Whether they will be able to make use of it with potential injuries, tiredness and their current defense is another question. Of course there is also shitty finishing to worry about.

This. I unironically think United have been very decent this season and have been let down by consistent choking at the front. They could even get 3rd place even after drawing all the time to mediocre teams simply because they don't shit the bed like Arsenal and Liverpool tend to do.
