Most of the stuff he talks about are basic football tactics and the clasic british "not enough passion", "they want it more" qoutes.

He's shown little capacity as an actual coach with either England or his time in Spain.

The only reason people like him is because they were plesantly suprised that his punditry was complete shit like every other ex player who turns their hand at it. He's lived off the goodwill of people being suprised he could string more than two senteces together into actual coaching jobs despite being barely qualifed enough to coach a youth team never mind England National Team and Valencia.

I wouldn't judge him too harshly over his Valencia stint. The club's a complete chaos.
