Because it's (mostly) illegal and an organization that has to maintain a public image can't condone or allow it. It has nothing to do with the owners of a team having a moral objection. It's simply PR and protecting the name of their brand.

It's all about public perception. I see shit all the time with NFL players doing stuff with kids. Training camps, charities, etc. The NFL wouldn't want it to be publicly known that those players do something that the majority of parents disapprove of. You're just alienating demographics when you allow it to happen. It really doesn't matter if it's legal or not.

It all comes down to money (obviously). Anything a business does is in the name of making more money. A lot of times, that means managing your public image.

Teams don't really care whether drugs of any kind have an effect on your performance. They just care what potential customers think of it.

Because it's got a bad image and sports stars and still viewed as models of perfection to be looked up to as a remnant from victorian britain. it's bad for their brand/image if their star players are seen smoking

It's unprofessional. Just because it's harmless doesn't mean you should do it.

Marijuana is harmless if u roll a joint every now and then.
But this complex statement is hard for a professional athelte to understand simply because his intelligence is sportsbased and his logic denies it.
They might literally abuse it. Weed is a painkiller btw so maybe someone does end up abusing it after an intense match.

Plus weed/smoke might interfere with their roids but i dunno shiet just guessing.
