Is it really that hard to stop a 6'3" manlet from getting 10 rebounds?
Keep in mind, the guys tasked to do it are paid millions and are considered some of the highest-tier athletes in the world.
Its hard to stop a god
#WhyNot

Did you see the game saving rebound at the end? Literally outrebounded Jokic and his whole team to save the game.
>>75141208
Nobody is paid to stop him from getting 10 rebounds. They are paid to win the games. If there Westbrook get 1000 rebounds but he loses, the money was well spent
>>75141299
No, I stopped watching after the 30th triple double.
Also, checked.
>>75141208
Rebounds are about timing and not pure length
>>75141360
Well, they should be. He's winning with d-league talent around him. You'd think the coaches would have figured this out by now.
>>75141208
Reminder that this guy led the league in rebounds at 6'4".
>>75141414
>He's winning with d-league talent around him
Remember when the Thunder were a stacked team?
Rebounding is 10% height, 20% positioning, 70% effort
Pretty sure he's putting in 10x more effort than anyone else to get dem stats
>>75141208
Lanklets are unathletic. Shocker
>>75141208
his centres are betacucks
1. It's the part of Thunder's game-plan, they score a lot of points in fast break transitions when Westbrook grabs the board and has 4 teammates all over the floor for passing and easy buckets.
2. Like him or not, he's one of the most athletic players ever, his durability and leapsing are otherwordly, I'm pretty sure he can jump higher than 90% of centers, he's also built like a robot, the smaller version of LeBron James.
>>75145939
If Adams had grabbed that rebound, they'd never scored that 3-pointer.
>>75143534
yep, about 3 franchise players ago
>>75143861
More positioning, more height/athleticism, less effort breh
>>75145939
>Westbrook is more alpha than a literal cromagnon kiwi
>>75146488
>It's the part of Thunder's game-plan
This; they literally all box out for Westbrook so he can get the board and lead the fast break. His rebounding numbers are by design.
>6''3"
>manlet
>>75141208
He's insane for a PG
Rebounds arent what they used to be
In the 90s you'd have to fight Hakeem to get a rebound but now the big men stand on the perimeter and shoot too so most rebounds are uncontested
Russell's season is a result of several factors:
Firstly, it is clearly apparent that Russ is a supreme athlete and incredibly talented player. These are the tools he uses to build his ridiculous statline.
Secondly, the entire team is built around him grabbing defensive boards, pushing the ball rapidly up the court and taking a quick shot. This accounts for his vast amount of rebounds and assists.
Russell was already a significantly above average rebounder due to his athleticism and rebounding instincts, so it makes sense that he should be able to get 10 a game with his bigs specifically aiming for him to get them
The assists are more of a problem for russ, as he's not a natural playmaker and his decision making is a legitimate hole in his game. The thunder have rectified this problem with the fast break attempts where they basically shoot as soon as he gives them the ball no matter what.
This incredibly fast paced style of play is the reason why russ is averaging 5 turnovers a game, as he has never been that great at hanging onto the ball anyway.
The most remarkable part of this season is that his team has basically worked very hard for russ to achieve this individual achievement, and is getting almost no credit, being written off as scrubs and d leaguers.
Watch the playoffs, when russ is going to hero ball more often, his assist numbers go down and the thunder get annihilated because he decides his team mates are no longer good enough

The Thunder's gameplan involves boxing out to let Westbrook get the defensive rebound and start a fast break. Some people will claim that they're helping him statpad but it's a legitimate part of their strategy.
in 30 years, when you grow up, you're going to feel so stupid for not just enjoying his greatness. was it really worth it?
>>75146644
for apehoop standards
>>75145939
>i don't understand how basketball works
>>75143861
>effort and positioning are two completely separate things
How do you stop God himself?
>>75141208
You are probably taller than 6'3'' and how many rebounds did you score in NBA this season?
Oh, I see.
>>75150171
by shitting on toilets
>>75150193
>mom i posted it again
Have you guys not actually watched his games? His fucking centers don't grab the rebounds so he can statpad.
>>75150205
>mom i posted in 4chan again
>>75150218
Its so he can grab the rebound and explode on the fast break
>>75150218
>Team doesn't grab rebounds so westbrook can get them
>Team leads league in rebounds
interesting
>>75150307
I mean someone has to grab his 50 attempts a game. Also Westbrook is 1st in uncontested rebounds and in the 100s in contested lmao, stats don't lie
>>75150423
So Westbrook is so damn good at positioning and anticipation other teams don't even try to try to challenge a rebound because he's such a threat?
Interesting... And it gives his team so many second chance points and secures possessions against other off. rebounding teams... even more interesting... all while on the best rebounding team in the NBA, when he's their leading rebounder, as if that's a bad thing...
>>75150423
>Wesbrook averages 2.2 contested rebounds
>Blake Giffin averages 2.7 contested rebounds
>Draymond Green averages 2.7 contested rebounds
but ya, he is terrible at rebounding and it is all a farce.
>>75145939
Look at the assist at the end of the play
You would rather have Russ grab the rebound so he can run down the court and get an easy pass or bucket.
Thats the whole point.
>>75150757
The ball would get faster to the middle of the court if Russell stayed there waiting for a pass.
>sacrifice wins for rebounds
>expected to win MVP
dont make the trophy worthless.
>>75150757
>a handoff pass takes longer .5 seconds to complete
how about no retard
>>75151307
>Be 32-10 when you get a triple double
>Be 15-24 when you do not
you
>>75151231
But would Westbrook get to see the floor better in that spit second or would he be able to see it better running it up the floor?
>>75146644
>this assblasted manlet
