what sport would be easiest for a 25 year old with no experience to learn, baseball or hockey? I'm not in shape but not completely unathletic either, tall strong, but not very fast or flexible. Not trying to go pro or anything I just want to hold my own in a local rec league eventually. I figure hockey would be difficult to learn because of the skating component (i can skate, just not well), but learning to bat with no experience sounds tough too.

if you live near a batting cage then choose baseball
>>

Hockey is not that difficult no matter how much these autists want to claim it is, but maybe you have a natural ding it out of the park gift so give baseball a shot
>>
>>75039958
yeah, have a rink in my city and several batting cages so id be able to practice a lot on my own either way
>>
>>75039940

Top tier:

>baseball (fun and cheapish, also great social time with team mates)
>soccer (fun but physically challenging)

Second tier:
>basketball (extremely physical and requires a ton of practice)
>frisbee golf/frisbee football (fun but nerdy)
>tennis (it's the most boring game I've ever played. Literally run and hit ball is the entire game)
>diving (have to live near water)

Shit tier:
>golf (Unbelievably expensive)
>kickball (come on)

I just can't say enough how much I hate tennis. My Dante's inferno circle of hell is playing tennis for eternity

If you can't skate well, choose baseball. I've played in rec leagues for years now and unless skating is literally 2nd nature for you, you're not going to have any fun.

With baseball, you can put time in at batting cages to work on your swing. Also, time is a batting cage is easier to get and cheaper than rink time.

Futsal (football in a 5v5 field)is the most fun sport in fucking existence.
There simply is no competition and I've tried all the major ones. As for fat sports, I never tried handegg.
Baseball was the most fucking boring 4 weekends of my life except for pitching.

is slowpitch softball an option? its perfect.
>>
>>75040237
its not second nature at all, more like an activity i do twice a year on a date or something. i didnt think about cost but if batting cages are cheaper that would definitely influence my pick
>>75040291
yeah, i wrote baseball but im thinking as a complete noob i would most likely be playing slowpitch
>>
>>75040346
slowpitch is absolutely the way to go. it's not super exciting, but its fun enough and you should be able to pick it up quickly. you'll need a buddy to hit fly balls to you though, you have to learn to read it off the bat to play outfield

>25 year old

Haha no shit you fat old fuck. Just buy a set of golf clubs.
>>
>>75039940
The world needs more hockey players

I'm getting back into it and I'm the same age as you
>>
The easiest sports to pick up casually are baseball and soccer. Doesnt mean you will be good at them, but from a starting point, they are the easiest imho.
t.Guy who pretty much played everysport as a kid
>>
>>75040189

coed kickball is literally the easiest way for mid 20s to get laid
>>
>>75040584
well yeah obviously just warding off the "youll never be good" answers. cant see myself liking or affording golf
>>75040737
how would one get in shape for soccer aside from playing? just running and working on ballhandling?
>>
>>75040790
this is an award-winning porno waiting to happen
>>
>>75040799
Golf is balls-ass cheap after clubs.

I've literally never paid more than $30 for a game.
>>
>>75039940
I think you'll feel like you contribute more to your team in baseball. Or at the very least, you are less likely to feel like you are holding your team back when you're starting out.
