The only reason Leinster is so big is that their King, Diarmaid Mac Murchadha, invited the Normans (ie English King) to invade his kingdom, and by extension Ireland. He needed their help after getting BTFO by the King of Connacht, Ruaidhrí Ó Conchobhair, who was also High King of Ireland. In exchange for the Norman's help, he made one of William the Conqueror's knights his heir.

TL;DR Leinster lads can't handle losing to Connacht and you should never trust a Leinster man.

This is bad for your skin, at least that's what I've been told.
Perhaps the situation is different in humid countries, I get bad enough swamp ass as it is so I can imagine there are some real quagmire arse cracks in places like brazil.
Actually know that I think about it I would generally shower more in the summer.
>>
>>74906909
In biggest part of Brazil, except southern states and parts of southeast, the annual average temperatures are superior than 25°C

If high humidity, shower is necessary because sweat basicly doesn't evaporate

If low humidity, shower is necessary because drought sensation on body is strong

This article is a pretty good summary of where the sport is at in Australia now
http://www.theroar.com.au/2017/03/21/time-pull-heads-sand-admit-australian-rugby-dying/

In order to prosper at international level, Australia needs to keep its players in the country, which requires strong Super Rugby teams that players want to play for and that generate revenue to pay wages competitive with what European clubs can offer. Australia doesn't have the talent for 5 Super Rugby teams though, so one or more need to be cut. 4 well-supported teams would be better than 5 teams that aren't generating much revenue, and the hope is that having higher quality players in the Australian teams will help build up the fan bases of those remaining teams.

Brumbies, Reds and Waratahs have been there the longest and have the most established fanbases so they're safe. I would have cut the Rebels, and created the "South Australia Brumbies" or something, but I guess Melbourne's large population was too tempting to risk losing out on. It seems dumb to have all 4 teams along the south-east of the country though.

Had my second interview, now they said I should wait a few weeks for assessment. Thing is I plain lied about my fitness levels, I'm strong enough to do the lifting stuff but my running is abysmal.
He also said the main things people fail on are the 1.5 mile run and the medical check. Earlier I did 3 laps at my local track which is roughly 0.75 miles in 6:20 and I was absolutely dead. Am I fucked?
>>
>>74911845
not that dude but if they said you have a couple of weeks then you can probably make up the difference in that time
>>

Nah you'll be ok, you said you've got a few weeks before the assessment which will be plenty of time to get ready for a 1.5 mile run.

Jamie Heaslip, who was born within a couple of days of Ryan was given a three year central contract in February, despite there being loads of young back rows coming through and it generally being a more attritional position to play.

Doesn't do a lot to quell the feeling that Leinster are the IRFU's favourites.

NMS is injured too so he isn't going to get picked anyway
I rate Aso atm so he might be our wing off the bench
>>
>>74912518
Not even from Munster mate. Just pointing out that it's a double standard. It's more likely down to Munster going bust and having to be bailed out last year. I'm pretty sure central contracts are a "top up" on whatever your province can afford to pay you and in Munster's case that's probably sweet fuck all.

Anyway, I don't think the Leinster bias runs as deep as some people say it does, but it's there whether you like it or not. My friend's dad works with one of the AIL clubs and he's good friends with one of the guys who was high up in the Connacht Branch (vice-president I think). The stories he has about it are cringeworthy, like how they used to toast the queen at dinner parties for decades, and then in the 80s there were some people in the organisation wanting to up registration fees to drive poorer people out of the game and bankrupt clubs in 'disreputable' areas. That second idea was never widespread, but just an example of some of the daft stuff.

If you read any book about the history of rugby in Ireland it's pretty clear who their favorites were, and they weren't Munster and Connacht. Hell, "Front Up, Rise Up" or "The Team That Refused To Die" came out just last year, both well-sourced books by respected sports journalists (one of them the former Connacht team manager) that document the level of bias in the Union as recently as last decade. Even if it isn't as bad as it was in the past, pretending there would be no holdovers from the past at all would be naive. Leinster seem to have to do a lot less to be allowed get lads in from abroad at least.
>>
>>74912758
>Leinster seem to have to do a lot less to be allowed get lads in from abroad at least.
Leinster will have 4 foreign players on the books next year, the same number they currently have, two of which will be NIQ.

Connacht for years weren't even subject to those rules and currently have 10.

Munster currently have 8.

Ulster currently have 10.
>>
>>74912865
10? There's Boshoff, Dawai, Aki, McCartney, Fox-Matamua and Ili. Only the first two can never become eligible for Ireland, and Aki and McCartney become Irish-qualified in October. If you're counting Cannon or Robertson-McCoy, you should count Bent and Carbery as foreign too, seeing as they all qualify through their parents. If you're counting Poolman or Heenan, you should count Strauss, Stander and Payne as foreign too, seeing as they're all Irish through residency.

Besides, I'm not talking about Connacht. As you mentioned they're under a different development agreement on account of having a lower budget and they're only one player over the limit. Even so, they were blocked from taking on Pat Lam's son on a temporary contract. What I'm talking about is Leinster in comparison with Munster and Ulster, who are all supposed to be on the same development plan. I can't remember Leinster ever being on the end of something like the Pienaar situation in Ulster or the Moore situation in Munster. They have a load of young Irish back three talent but have been consistently allowed two NIQ players there, they have tons of back row talent, but just signed Fardy (who mark my words will play there during international windows).
>>
big bad bundee aki
>>
>>74913051
I only included players not currently eligible to play for Ireland or eligible, foreign in origin and uncapped.

>As you mentioned they're under a different development agreement
Wow, it's like the IRFU have been extremely patient with and favour Connacht!

>I can't remember Leinster ever being on the end of something like the Pienaar situation in Ulster or the Moore situation in Munster.
Which is what exactly? Foreign players being forced out? Loads.

It's probably not memorable because Leinster have consistently developed players in problem positions (except lock), a huge issue for Ulster, and consistently have less foreigners on the books, as well as consistently developing players for every other Irish side.

>They have a load of young Irish back three talent but have been consistently allowed two NIQ players there
You're being intentionally disingenuous here if you don't think that they have way more back players involved with Ireland over the course of the season.

>but just signed Fardy (who mark my words will play there during international windows).
No different to Piatau playing in another position to whatever slot they signed him in despite having a glut of talented backs. You're being disingenuous again.
>>
>>74914519
>Wow, it's like the IRFU have been extremely patient with and favour Connacht!
As I mentioned, the only reason Connacht have been given a break there is that their budget is much smaller than the other provinces. The smallest in the Pro12, in fact.

Hardly favouritism.

Reminder that the Welsh National Rugby Union Team traveled to NZ and got absolutely spanked by the Gallagher Chiefs who had more than half their players missing (see pic related).

Further reminder that after this embarrassing loss the British and Irish Lions tried to back pedal on their contract which has them playing weakened New Zealand Super Rugby teams mid week. They then entered damage control a year before a game was meant to be played saying they players will be over worked and be unable to perform at their usual strength during the tour.

Northern Hemisphere rugby literally shakes in their boots at the idea of playing weakened Club rugby teams, and us Kiwis know a lot about shaking.

Highlanders have played 1 whole game more, doesn't look like it though does it.
Hurricanes has only had 1 free win team (as the Chiefs proved the Rebels aren't that).
Smith is not more impressive than a player having 1 whole game less having stats close or better

>le game plan
Another mark against him, he isn't even playing the type of rugby the AB's traditionally play.

He is still past it, he could bounce back and be first pick come end of year tours (and I hope he does, I like him a lot) but currently he is not the obvious first choice unlike TJ.

I'll admit I watched the first episode, but it just made me remember how much I hate anime. And it was sooooo gay. Like ridiculously gay.
>>
I would like a rugby anime with 80's and 90's standards, like Capitan Tsubasa and Slam Dunk
>>
>>74960349
It stops being quite as gay after the first few episodes and starts showing a pretty remarkable amount of respect for the sport.

The original author is a female though, so it was always going to be gay.

So just how unstoppable will England be once he's in their backrow?
>>
>>74966217
Brumbies are falling apart as an organisation. They only got 8k for their semifinal attendance last year.

They lost about 300 internationals caps worth of players last year. They'll lose more end of this season (fardy, smiler, cubello all going). They haven't signed a coach for next year, and they had to pay out a million bucks to their CEO.

Meanwhile Melbourne are privately owned, and financially sound. If Melbourne lose money it's not the ARUs problem. force have raised a million bucks this year in a team ownership scheme. And the force are doing well by their standards.

I could go on about this longer, but there is no clear cut table Australian team unfortunately.
