What is the point of Arena Football, anyway?
It's a waste of time and energy. Even the NFL is struggling to retain viewers, how does one expect the knockoff to be successful?

dude theres 12 teams. They got 2 new franchises this year. One of the problems is that there aren't many stable franchises in the league. Most of the games are on ESPN 3 (internet streaming).

Indoor Football was a bubble at a time when the economy was better.. Leagues and teams come and go and fold and merge like crazy. AFL already went under once, and right now, they're just not the most powerful indoor league. Some of the newer leagues are more stable, so a bunch of the more prominent teams left AFL to go join them. I don't know where so much of the money disappeared to, though. Maybe before, they were getting TV money, and now they have to pay to be televised. I know that player salaries, even in AFL (supposedly the highest league) are in the hundreds of dollars per game.

I watched some LA Avengers games when I was a kid and was pretty disappointed when they folded.
