/v/, /vr/ here. I don't give a shit about sports but I don't have any beef with yall being into it.

But PLEASE recycle your outdated sports vidya, even going back to atari games. Unless it's something with value like Mario sports or Mutant League Football it's all trash which ends up clogging bargain bins, pawn shops, garage sales and thrift stores where they never sell and persist for ages. Because of this a lot of those business no longer except games from entire console generations, making it more difficult to find older games outside of ebay where their prices are jacked the fuck up.
I propose that instead of selling your outdated sports games for 2 fitty a dozen you recycle them to ensure this doesn't happen further. It'll also be better for the environment.

Please I just want to find good snes games again.

lmao, your thread is going to get buried in the soccer shitposting - any time other than today would have been better.

People care about soccer?

By definition American sport is shitposting here on /sp/.

>>
Who gives a shit, just emulate those snes games instead of collecting trash.
>>
It would make more sense for us to sell them to a shop and for them to recycle them in bulk.

I'm both a /sp/artan and a trooper but come on dude.

>you may have just called us /v/
>"a lot of those business no longer except games"
>you want us to recycle old carts instead of donating the shells to restoration/preservation projects
>you think the mere existence of shitty sports games is clogging the pipeline and making it hard for you personally to find good games

Now perhaps you are a retarded gatdam francophone leaf but you have to stop and think before you post.

Anyway git gud, my plastic collection is enormous and I never complained about >muh mountain of Maddens. You're a pleb if you're trying to scavenge at stores that have a problem with sports games in any case, and you're supporting an evil game-destroying empire if you're even thinking of buying anything, ever, from GameStop (who don't stock retro anymore anyway).

I'm a golden era collector too. Aren't sports games recycled to make repros in North America?

It's a pity there are literally no retrovg sports collectors out there. Even if most of the games are trash, they got nice artwork and you can make a nice collection for pennies in the USA. Here even those are somewhat expensive.

Pic related, got that one CIB just because it looks great on a Nintendo Top Hits Official Sign

Also from /vr/ and I don't understand your logic. Sports games like Madden on SNES have no value. They do not sell. That is true. I don't think that is the source of the problem when it comes to retailers discontinuing their retro game sales. Online sales killed the market. People are likely to Google their games and they're not likely to give away rare carts at garage sales anymore. You just can't find cheap games like you used to. The only thing positive I can tell you is that the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 market looks really good right now.

I tried to sell some old sports carts to a local retailer and they weren't interested because they already had some in stock. They knew my games were worthless, so they didn't buy them. If I came to them with Mario or another valuable cartridge, they would have given me an offer. Any good pawn shop will give you an offer for valuable games, but not NCAA Football 94. That's just how business works.

>recycle games
Am I being trolled? Do you not appreciate retro games? I would never destroy a game, no matter how bad and unplayable it is. I have a quite a few SNES cartridges just sitting on the shelf. I never play them. Does that rustle your jimmies?

Once you get into the gameplay of a retro sports game, you realize how little they've changed over the years. The controls are clunky, but it's pretty much the same game.

I like to see the old players.

It may not be Shakespeare, but I guess it's still pretty impressive that when you give enough monkeys enough keyboards they'll eventually type something in English.
