It's not nearly as bad as it used to be. You used to be able to soccer kick guys in the head and a whole bunch of other shit. I think eventually they might have to get rid of knees to the head. It's getting safer as it gets bigger.

Boxing is bad. The sheer volume of head shots guys take and they give the guy an 8 count and let him keep fighting for up to 12 rounds. And those enormous cups that go up to the waist with the big gloves make body shots less effective forcing guys to go to the head.

Think about the fact that big names in boxing will have say 40 fight's while muay Thai fighters can have 300 fighting 5 5minute rounds and giving the fighters more options than to just go for the head.

I really have a hard time watching people get hurt, but there's so many different weapons and strategies and skills fighters can use that once you learn a bit about it, it's a pretty interesting sport with all the possibilities.
